We do not open up to the usual crude setup that mocks a Redemption backstage interview area. This time we open up to Daisy and RC being… normal? Well, they’re eating dinner at a candlelight dinner at their hotel. That’s generally considered normal.
”So much happened.”
”In two shows, all the champions were crowned.”
”The honor of being the first crowned champions went to us.”
”As the tag team champions, we proved that we are great together.”
”And this time, we are to be split up and put into singles matches, Daisy against Jeremy and Mikhail, myself against Ryan Conners. Hey isn’t he the guy that broke little Jess’ heart?”
”I think so.”
RC sets his fork down and stands up, shaking his head. ”I hate that guy almost as much as I hate John Blade. And I don’t hate anybody. I don’t get along with too many, but I don’t hate anybody. I can count on one hand the number of people I hate.”
”People who break innocent girls’ hearts, people who can’t understand good humor and people who don’t come up with new material.”
”It kinda aggravates me. Here I am a guy with most of his sanity unaccounted for and then there’s Ryan Conners, who else is noticing that it’s RC versus RC by the way?” Daisy raises her hand and nods. ”Now this guy has got it all, but what does he actually do with it? Haven’t seen him make much of an impression anywhere. Certainly not here at Redemption. But that’s why it’s called Redemption. This would be his chance.”
”And that’s why you’re the better man. Generous and giving.”
”To an extent. When it comes to getting down to business though, not quite as much. Ryan has some skill and that has to be respected one competitor to another, but he’s also gotta learn that sometimes when you have nothing going for you to back out of the game. Because if anything has been proven by you, it’s that you can’t play this game-”
Daisy pipes up before he can finish one of his signature catchphrases. ”Actually babe, can we cut this one a little short? I think we both need a little pre-match motivation.”
”Well, now with an offer like that and such stakes on the line, I guess we should make some time for ourselves before we go into our first singles matches since we got together.”
