::OFF CAMERA::
One of the greatest views one can possibly experience is viewing the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. How the sunlight causes an orange hue that seems to walk over the blue salt water. It was the perfect way for one to end a day….the perfect way to take a deep breath and put everything into perspective.
It's also hella romantic to take your girlfriend on a dinner date. The seaside Chinese restaurant had the best seating deck in California. It was the perfect place to view the looming sun setting over the water. As he starts finishing his plate of beef and broccoli Scotty Latimer stops and looks at his girlfriend. He watches Ruby Lance handling her chopsticks as she gets closer as well to finishing her meal.
The West Coast Genesis South Bay champion looks even more beautiful with the glare of the sun grazing her cheek. Scotty stares at her...enjoying the view of the woman he loves. The woman that he had been through an emotional roller coaster with over the last 6 months or so….honored and humbled she was with him.
What?
Ruby asks before even looking up. A smile spreads across her face and she finally looks up from her meal to smile at her boyfriend across the table from her.
I can feel you staring. Not that I mind, of course.
Scotty just smiles.
Sorry I was staring. I was just thinking how lucky I am that you are here with me. How's your food?
He sips his glass of water as he takes another bite
It's really good. And haven't gotten bored with me yet?
She props her elbow on the table and rests her chin in her hand, smirking as she wrinkles her nose playfully at him. He smiles at her as he leaned over and got close to her face.
I'm more worried with you getting bored with me…
He strokes her cheek and tenderly kisses her lips. She smiles against his lips and shakes her head as he pulls away.
Don't be silly.
Scotty pulls back taking her hand with him. He holds it as they look into each other's eyes. Scotty turns his head and watches the sun almost disappearing over the ocean. He feels a set of eyes staring at him and Ruby from behind him. She glances towards the onlookers and does her best to pretend like they're not there.
Hey. So, what have you got coming up as far as matches and travel?
Scotty let's her hand go and rubs his fingers.
Well I have AJ Knight in Seattle Pro...whatever Lions Road throws at me...and a fatal five way in NGW.
He couldn't help to feel like he was being watched but before he could turn around Ruby gets his attention back by grabbing his hand.
Where's the next event for Lions Road? And NGW?
Scotty shakes off the feeling of being stared at.
Um….not sure on Lions Road….NGW….St. Louis. Why am I feeling like we are being watched?
Don't worry about it. When will you know where Lions Road is? When is the next show?
Scotty turns around as the group of people quickly looked away. Scotty shakes his head as he looks into those beautiful...calming eyes of Ruby. He smiles.
I'll find out Friday honey. So West Coast is the 30th right?
She nods and offers him a bigger smile.
Yeah. Just having trouble keeping all these dates straight in my head. I think I need to start using my phone's calendar.
He holds his up.
Already do babe. I have to with my wrestling schedule and the modeling gig. Speaking of which….early December I was told I have another week of shooting somewhere. You interested in going?
Again the people behind him started looking. She reaches out and turns his face back to her.
Do you know where?
All I know is it's early December. Kim told me that she narrowed it down to three locations. One is Rome….the other is Tokyo...and the final in Barcelona. And of course she told me you are welcomed to come with me. I think she wants to advertise you.
He smiles at her as he kisses her hand.
Can't say I blame her…
Ruby shakes her head in a way that says she's heard this kind of flattery from Scotty more than once, yet she just chalks it up to him being overly biased.
Well, let me know when she decides where. I'll definitely go either way. Hopefully neither of us have anything conflicting.
Scotty smiles at her. He loved how she didn't realize just how incredibly beautiful she is. She knows she is….but her beauty is special. She just would never understand it.
Well let's hope. Any preference where it should be?
Again Scotty turns around and again the group of people look away. Scotty starts getting a little irritated but again Ruby gets his attention.
I've never been to any of those places. I'd be happy to see any of them with you.
He smiles again at her.
I kind of hope it's Barcelona. I've never been there. You ready to get out of here?
Scotty puts down the cash for the meal and gets up. The group of people that was behind them that had been looking at the couple most of dinner was already gone. Scotty extends his hands to Ruby. She smiles and takes his hand, allowing him to help him to help her stand and lead her off.
The couple walks outside as they start walking down the street when the group that was looking at them approaches Scotty and Ruby. Ruby in her typical fashion greets the fans with a smile as Scotty inside just feels like they are being disturbed. One of the girls stares at Scotty.
Oh my God you are more handsome in person….I mean….
She laughs and blushes as she looks at one of her girlfriends with her.
I mean I'm a big fan.
Scotty smiles as one of the guys extends his hand. Scotty takes it reluctantly.
Dude….I seriously love the Midnight Horsemen. You guys are incredible...and I'm a huge fan of you too Ruby...such a great champion…
The guy gets a little tongue tied as Ruby just smiles as she stays close to Scotty, holding his hand a little tighter.
Thanks, sweetie. The Midnight Horsemen are some really great guys. Well, some of them.
She grins and looks up at Scotty, seeing the annoyance from this situation all over his face and gives his hand a squeeze. Scotty keeps smiling as he acknowledges them with a nod and starts walking away. One of the females says something that stops them in his tracks.
Are you still living with Jonathan Drake, Ruby? I read somewhere you did. I'm surprised that you didn't end up with him. He is so cute.
Scotty had a look on his face of annoyance. Ruby sees it and attempts to stop the situation from escalating.
Yeah. He's a great friend.
She answers the question as politely as possible while doing her best to avoid any follow-ups or directly addressing the unnecessary portions from the fan. She squeezes Scotty's hand and gives him a little tug to try and get them walking. Scotty doesn't budge as he stares at the woman that asked the question.
Ever thought maybe you have no control over who you fall in love with?
The woman looks apologetic but before she could say anything Scotty puts his hand up.
Look….right now this isn't us being pro wrestlers….or performers...or anything public. This is our private life. If you are such big fans then respect that by not asking stupid questions or bothering me and my girlfriend right now ok?
Scotty slowly turns and allows Ruby to now lead him away. She looks back at the fans, offering her sincerest apologies without saying a word.
That was kind of harsh, don't you think?
Scotty looks at her.
You're right….it was.
Scotty walks back over to the group as they all look at him in a confused way.
Look….I'm sorry. I just am protective of my personal life. I didn't mean to sound so harsh. You guys forgive me?
He flashes that million dollar smile as Ruby re-joins him, taking him by the hand and flashing him a smile.
You'll have to excuse him. He's got a lot on his mind. I mean, you all know he's the star of three wrestling companies.
The group smiles as Scotty takes pictures with them all. Ruby joins in a few selfies as after a few moments they all exchange goodbyes and pleasantries. Scotty takes her by the hand and they walk.
Star of three wrestling companies huh…
That's the way I see it.
She smiles up at him, rising up on her toes to give him a little kiss on the lips. Scotty kisses her back as he puts his arm around her as they walk away.
::ON CAMERA::
Scotty Latimer paces back and forth in a trance of concentration. He was thinking about stuff….stuff that he had to get off his chest. He stops as he looks into the camera.
I feel a little naked here….I said I was going to win the Young Lions title and I didn't. Am I going to stand here and come up with an excuse as to why I lost no. I made a mistake….and it cost me the match. It wasn't the fact that Coda was better than me….because she isn't. She can't touch me and I proved that the entire match when I out did her in every facet of this game. And she knows it. Coda was 1% good….and 99% lucky. Next time….I won't make the mistake.
So how do I get rewarded for dominating the overrated Young Lions champion Coda? I'm rolling out of the ring trying to get the cobwebs out of my head from her miracle move when I hear the music of Devlin Scott as he showboats out. I'm thinking he's coming out to announce that Scotty Latimer is getting a well deserved rematch against the champion that just got lucky. But I didn't hear that. He decides to think he is just going to throw me to the side and announce that Sapphire is back. You know Sapphire….yeah I didn't care either.
Scotty walks around a little more.
Devlin Scott I guess you don't realize who I am. Let me refresh you….I'm the Seattle Pro Pride champion...one of the top titles in this business..I'm one half of the Lions Road Tag Team Champions with Jacob Hammerstein. The best tag team in the world today…. Yeah you heard me. Not the Messiahs or the 7th Circle. The American Maharaja and the American Monster….undefeated and over. Last but not least….I'm a Midnight Horsemen. The most elite group of performers in this business today. The best….in professional wrestling. And we have the gold to prove we are. Devlin Scott….you don't cast aside a superstar like me for someone that thinks she's a big deal that decides to come back. It's a mistake you will soon live to regret.
Scotty looks away frustrated.
So what is it that I get rewarded for. I get stuck in the opening match in a fatal five way to showcase the talent of the Young Lions division. Well….I'll question that because you are looking at the talent of the Young Lions division right here on your screen!
I was brought here to NGW to be the face of this division….and I would have been already if it wasn't for lady luck helping Coda in Brooklyn. Yeah that's right...not Jonathan Drake...or Sapphire or Josh Kennedy...not Honey’s boyfriend….what's his name?
Scotty puts his finger on his chin until he hears a voice from behind the camera saying Alechs Aurelio.
Oh yeah...Alechs Aurelio…..Honey’s boyfriend. Yeah that's pretty much what you are known for….Honey’s boyfriend. Why should I feel threatened by you.
And why should I feel challenged by Josh Kennedy? I don't have an issue with Josh….actually we are very similar….shirt tempered...passionate about defending our friends. The difference though is unlike you when I take actions it's noticed. When you do people tend to just blow you off... But I don't have a problem with you…
He smiles as he starts laughing a little.
But as far as you go Sapphire?? You think you are just going to decide to return after I lost on a lucky chance against Coda and stake your claim in this division? Nah….I don't think so. You are just like Coda is….overrated. I'm going to personally prove that in St. Louis at Dissension when you along with the other three are left lying on the mat looking blown up and stupid while I have my arm raised staking my claim as the man in the Young Lions division.
Scotty starts pacing back and forth again.
Then there's Jonathan Drake….the man that is my girlfriend's best friend and roommate. I try to keep my personal life out of my professional but I am finding that hard to do. Hell...me and Ruby can't even go to dinner without being bothered or having your name brought up. I respect Jonathan Drake….but there is a reason why you have been struggling Jonathan. You're too worried about holding onto that nice guy gimmick...baking cookies and reading tarot cards. That's why you haven't taken the mantle as lead of this division. That's why you will continue losing. I might respect you Jonathan because you are one of Ruby’s best friends...but in that ring it's all about business, and it's all about Scotty Latimer. And I have no problem going through you to get where I have worked to get.
Ladies and Gentlemen...this is the rebirth of NGW….and Scotty Latimer is one of the reasons for it. The Midnight Horsemen are here to make it ours like everywhere else we have gone. I am the face of the Young Lions division...I will prove that on October 1st in that fatal five way...and will prove it when Coda gets enough nerve to give me my rematch. Because when that happens...you're looking at the next Young Lions champion. That's just the simple fact.
Scotty throws the sign of the Midnight Horsemen up and smiles as the scene fades to black
