After Jack Santore returns from his shopping trip with Austen Blackwell, where the two new friends picked up some fresh kicks, he sets down the bag on his coffee table in his small, one-bedroom apartment (Hey! LA housing is expensive!), and plops himself down onto the couch in front of said table.
"Hey Messiahs."
Jack slips the box of shoes out of the bag and lets it sit on the table as he looks into the camera with a grin.
"I know you didn't expect me. You didn't expect me at Hype when I came to the aid of my friends and you certainly didn't expect to be in the ring with me on Saturday. It's fine. I don't regret for one second going out there and helping out my friends. I know, I know, I know what you're gonna say. "How good of friends are they?" I mean, right? Sure, I don't hang out with Ruby or Danni as much as Austen does. But you know what? They've been nothing but kind to me since the day I debuted here. They didn't give a damn if I had 14 years of wrestling under my belt or 14 days. They were welcoming to their group of friends because they're good people. Because they're not crazy. Like you all are."
Jack shakes his head in disgust.
"I feel bad for you all. I feel bad because you'll never know what having friends is. You'll never know what it's like to have people be as welcoming as I have. Heck, you could've known it but you chose to be the way that you are and to be judgmental and push people away. You chose to get on your soap box and act like we're all beneath you. And you know what? It's fine. We need people like you around."
What? That sounds like a total shock but Jack chuckles a bit, more than likely because he heard the gasp from the people watching.
"We need you around because you make me realize that it's nice to have friends around. In a competitive world, it's still nice to be able to call people friends. And the thing that you really made me come to grips with is that I'm sick and tired. After having lost to Jason Hunter and being cheated out of a match where I had a man intentionally target an injury and bring me close to feeling like I had no purpose here, like I would never make it in WCG, never make it in pro wrestling. You made me feel like I had purpose when I was out there and helping my friends. You made me realize that my purpose, at least for this week is to help my good friend Austen..."
Jack opens up the shoe box, revealing the beautiful Space Jam Jordans. He takes one out, admiring the shiny material and the purple on the bottom.
"...to kick your ass. We'll do it wearing ridiculous things like purple shoes and you can go back and whine about it with your friends. See you all on Saturday."
Jack closes the box and lays the shoe on top of it. The camera zooms in on the shoe as the scene fades out.
