Hey, everyone. It's Adam. Sorry that I've resorted to actually writing everyone on the internet instead of actually appearing on the camera. Public speaking has never been my thing. People find that ironic when they find out I have a degree in telecommunications, but that's why I feel like I'm better at interacting with many people via the internet rather than speaking.
The last time I was in a West Coast Genesis ring was a huge moment for me. I had been on a losing streak dating back to the last company I wrestled for. It got to nine. I wasn't sure I would be able to handle ten. I couldn't even handle six in the same ring, which led me to evaluate if I should even be doing this anymore. I think ten would have put me right back in that mindset. But it didn't get to ten. It ended at nine. It started a whole new streak for me. One. I am on a one-match winning streak, something that hasn't happened since I was a lowly curtain jerker for #FSociety Wrestling and still living in the guest bedroom of Adrien Cochrane.
And it wasn't about just about winning a match. The person across the ring from me was a roller coaster for me as well. See, a little while before that match took place, a two-year relationship had ended. But even before that happened, things were always quite complicated between me and the sister of my now-ex-girlfriend. Low and behold, my first televised match for West Coast Genesis Hype is against that sister, Megan Rydell. She encouraged Kenzie that she could do better than me, that I wasn't worth her time. That was difficult to swallow. And maybe there was some Megan influence in that.
But I need to make sure I'm prepared for my next match, a match that is strange to me that I'm the oldest competitor in this match (well barely older than Danni). Danni LeBlanc is one of the most established wrestlers in all of West Coast Genesis. She could be called up by the end of the year if she so chose to. If not, she will be holding a championship soon.
Shawn Young is a reminder that I got into this so late. He's gotten so much training at the young age of nineteen. I'm only twenty-three, but he's gotten as much training at that age as I have just one year ago. I don't think of myself as experienced enough to really negate how fresh he is. At nineteen, I was still oversleeping in a college dorm room from staying up all night to study for my exams.
What I need to do is to make sure I have the momentum from this past show. This is my chance to really turn things around and put together a streak like my mentor had put together.
