Avery: So I come back to New Generation Wrestling... yes. NGW. Boy, that feels great to say. Home. That is what I really need to be saying. I am home. And it feels so good. It had been in plans for weeks now. I was not sure how I wanted to come back, but I wanted it to be a splash. I decided when Alex Jones offered up an Open Challenge, what a way to return. And we tore the house down. I got a little bit of revenge, but he and I are far from done in what has become our friendly rivalry. This show? Alex and I get to tear the roof off again, on the same side. In a four way tag match. I could be the old me and say "here we go again" but Alex is someone I can honestly trust inside of the ring. We both want to win, and it drives us. And the only other person in this match I know that first hand of is Adrien Cochrane. Let's save my friend for last.
Avery Miles III is cleaning up an old gym. This is the old gym that he trained in many years ago. It has long since closed and gone to hell. A couple of years ago, before the death of Zoe, he purchased it with the intentions to restore it and re-open it. Now, those dreams are beginning to come true. Little by little, the gym begins to come together. Avery wanted to put on an upcoming charity show, and the gym would be a great place for it. Bringing fans and wrestlers to Macon, Georgia as well as proceeds helping the reliefs of Harvey and Irma. Avery was going to spend his off days here, and Serenity had already pledged her help as well. This event was their brainchild, and they would not wait to do it.
Avery stops for a moment, and speaks up. Looking into the camera, be starts with the first set of opponents.
Avery: John Blade and Alicia Hixx. They have been NGW staples. Blade is even a previous champion. Kudos to him, but their track record is far from stellar. They are not a team to sleep on, but I am not that sort of guy. I know better than that. They are familiar with each other, tagging, and that helps a lot. But they are outmatches. Jazmyn, Adrien, Alex, and myself all had championship pedigrees holding multiple titles. One could argue that we could all very well be NGW Championship contenders. And that brings me next to The Seventh Circle.
Avery moves a couple of pieces of equipment. He slides a weight bench over, picks up some trash, and sweeps up from dust.
Avery: A callup team from West Coast Genesis. I kept my eye on the roster of WCG and they are a menacing team. Not to be fooled with. They are friends in and out of the ring, and probably the most cohesive unit. They are going to be a hard team to battle, though they lack the "big time" experience the rest of us do. It's not bad, just something that comes with time. I see big things for the duo of Karstone and Gunnar once they get through that first stage of learning the ropes on the grand scale.
Avery stops what he is doing, stands up straight, and looks right into the camera.
Avery: Jazmyn Rain. A competitor that I said to keep an eye on from the beginning. Before I even considered coming back. She will be a champion. No if or maybe, but it is just a time sort of thing. She is earning her way up the ranks and I give it until Thanksgiving before she has gold around her waist. The biggest sleeper in this match, and even on the roster. I know Adrien said a similar thing, and I tend to agree. I am excited to get into the ring with her, and can't wait until we get to meet one on one as well.
Avery turns a bit more serious.
Avery: Adrien Cochrane. The one time we met, F Society Wrestling. Wow. What a match. One of the highlights of my career, and it was a loss. That should say something. But it is a loss that I owe you back for. Ask Alex about me owing one? He paid the piper. Or some other cool saying like that.
Avery shakes his head and laughs.
Avery: I can see it now. A future NGW Championship match. Miles vs Cochrane. WrestleForce. It will happen. It will be the Main Event. And it will be amazing. We have a lot to settle, and there will be plenty of time for mathces. You know how much I respect you. And I know just how talent you are. Aligning yourself with Jaz and a couple of Tag Team Champions that I trained? Good on you, AC. Things are looking good for The Guardians. I am sure we might even cross paths. Perhaps share the same vision a time or two? Who knows what the future will bring us? But right now, we have a crazed Devlin Scott four way tag team match extravaganza ahead of us.
Avery crosses his arms. He gets a little more centered. More focused. And wants to make sure his competitors take him seriously.
Avery: But this match? Alex and I plan on winning it. Nothing bad to say. No cheap threats. No promises. We plan on winning. That is all. We both look forward to singles compeition, and if winning this makeshift tag team match is what does it, than so be it. We are ready and willing. We've talked it over and there is a gameplan at hand. We are not short changing the other teams. They all bring something great to the table. Sometimes, you just know it. And us? We know it. The Falcon and The Dragon.
He smirks to himself.
Avery: Heh. Not bad.
