+++++ ON CAMERA +++++
Jason Hunter sat in the corner of the training ring inside Matt Shields' personal gym. a trickle of sweat ran down his forehead as he took a few deep breaths. Matt walked in with a camera in one hand and a tripod in the other. He slid in to the ring and looked down at the kid.
"Time to talk a little bit of shit."
Hunter looked up at Matt and just nodded his head. He wiped the sweat from his head and sat up in the corner a bit to show off his custom t-shirt.
"Say whatever the hell you want to kid."
Matt gave him the signal and started recording. Jason sat still for a few seconds, then looked up.
"Let's get this out of the way right from the start. My name is Jason Hunter, and I am going to be the next great champion in wrestling. Whether it is the West Coast Genesis West Coast title, the South Bay title, or if it's any of the titles in Redemption wrestling, I will become a champion."
Jason pulls himself up using the top ropes and looks straight ahead at the camera.
"Now that you all know who I am and what I'm about, let's talk about this upcoming match. Jack Sanotre... I haven't talked much about you up to now. A little bit of back and forth on twitter, but it was minimal and I had to initiate that. When you didn't say anything, I wondered why. I was thinking that maybe you just weren't the type to do a lot of shit talking. I figured maybe you were the kind that liked to focus on what happens between the ropes. Then I thought that maybe it was just you not taking me seriously. So I decided to make a few comments on twitter and see how you responded. I got my answer, and unfortunately it was that you didn't and don't seem to take me seriously. You didn't even acknowledge the valid claims I made about your injuries. You brushed it off and just acted like I was taking you lightly. Here's a little helpful hint Jack. When someone has researched your past, that means that they are taking you very seriously."
Jason takes a few steps forward as he points his index finger towards the camera.
"I have studied your matches, both wrestling and MMA. Hell, I even found footage of your football career, just to see how you played the game. That is the type of competitor that I am Jack, and you not taking me seriously is a big mistake. Maybe you listened to a bunch of the people who watched my debut at Unscripted. Maybe you're now wondering what all the hype was about. Maybe you're not doubting Matt Shields picking me as his protege. Maybe you're now saying that I wasn't worth the big money contract. If that's the case Jack, you and all of those people wondering and doubting, you are dead wrong. I didn't lose at Unscripted because my opponent was more talented than me, all though she is incredibly talented. I didn't lose at Unscripted because my opponent has superior in ring ability, all though she is fantastic in the ring. I didn't lose because my opponent was faster or stronger or more technically skilled. She probably does have the advantage in speed, but I'm stronger and even she will say that I am more technically skilled. No, I lost for one simple reason. I lost focus."
He stops for a second and takes a deep breath as he looks at Matt who is standing in the opposite corner.
"My focus is something I pride myself on. It is something that every good hunter has to have, and that is what I am. It is more than just a last name for me, it's practically a job description. When I called myself the Texas Huntsman on twitter, it wasn't just a clever play on words. This logo on my shirt, the same one I have on my knee pad when I wrestle, I don't wear it because it looks cool or it goes with my name. There are two things in this World that I am truly great at. Well maybe three, but one of them isn't something you talk about on camera. Two things Jack. Wrestling, and Hunting. Both require skill, patience, and focus. When I'm out in those woods, I am focused. My aim is always true, and it will be no different inside that ring. At Unscripted, I lost focus because the person across the ring from me, was my girlfriend. I let my emotions cloud my judgement. I let my desire to not hurt her too bad, override my focus and desire to win, and I was taken advantage of. That's not going to happen against you Jack. I don't have any reason to not want to hurt you. There is nothing to draw my focus away. There is nothing that will make me hold back."
Jason stops for a few seconds and steps back towards the ropes. He pushes himself up to where he's sitting on the top rope and a slight smirk crosses his face.
"On Saturday, there's nothing that's going to stop me from planting this knee"
Jason gives his right knee three simple taps with his hand.
"Right between your eyes. There is nothing that is going to hold me back when I think about driving your skull in to the mat. I have no reason to hesitate from attacking your leg and taking advantage of that old ACL injury. Jack, this match is when everyone learns why Matt Shields gave me his stamp of approval. This match is when everyone learns why Kaylee Kassie signed me despite a few warning signs. Jack, this is the match where everyone learns why I was immediately put in to the West Coast Title rankings. This is the match where I show everyone why Jason Hunter is a name they better start remembering."
Jason jumps down from the ropes and charges forward, raising his knee high, showing off the logo on his knee pad right and his quick strike ability as the camera shuts off.
