"Napoleon Bonaparte."
The words came flying out of the device where you watched the YouTube video, strong and powerful coming from Coda herself as she rode in on a horse with a straight posture as she kept a tight hold of the reins.
"He understood rushing into battle against a stronger enemy than yourself was not the best technique to succeed in warfare. Outmatched and outmanned, Napolean divided the opposing army and defeated each section individually by skillfully deploying his reserves at the right time and place."
Dressed in an elaborate black jacket embroidered with white buttons on the side with smooth silver lines across the front, Coda played the part of the military tactician atop a black horse as she eyed the camera with a steady gaze. Her methodical sweet voice gave way to a poignant confidence just beneath the surface as she continued her speech.
"Despite my short tenure within Redemption Wrestling so far, Alex Jones joins the short list of people who believe themselves as clever as Napolean as they stumble around the prospect that I am better alone than on the side of Matthew Shields, Kayla Richards, and Jack Tillman. This is stupid."
Her words short and to the point, Coda begins to pull her reins and subtly encourages the horse to slowly walk forward around the small fenced in space.
"You believe me this naive? You believe I am not aware of this facet of Matthew Shields' nature? I am aware."
Looking straight ahead, Coda gracefully leaned to the side and pulled the left rein gently. Bending her right leg back a little, she encouraged the creature to move in the direction she wanted it to turn with a small genuine smile.
"I am aware Matthew Shields is a prideful man. It is typical for people like him to turn his back on the rest of the group in order to preserve themselves at the top of the food chain. It is natural. It is predictable. However... You have seen group after group fall by the wayside with this very premise upward of a thousand times. You have become preconditioned to believe it will happen again. This is true naivety."
"I do not know what will happen next. This is the truth. I am sure of this, however: I will never regret the allegiances I have made with them."
With a confident smirk, she begins to walk the horse forward as the person with the camera follows her on their own horse. You could tell because the movement of the frame was much like galloping.
"I respect the choices Matthew Shields, Kayla Richards, and Jack Tillman choose to make in the future. I respect those choices because I would likely do the same in their position. Should it further my own goals and push me closer to acquiring the top spot within Redemption Wrestling without them, I would disband in an instant. I would stake my claims loud and clear that I did not need them and I would follow the plan to its conclusion. I am sure those three would understand. It is something Matthew and I have spoken about in private as well."
"Why do I not do this? This is simple: I have no reason to disband. Matthew, Kayla, Jack Tillman, Chris Constantine... These four stand as four of the best allies you could ever hope to earn in your rookie year in the sport of wrestling. Should someone attempt to attack me from behind (be it in a group or alone) and I could not handle it, I know these people would attempt to help me. I know these people— my family— would stand as support in the meantime while I continue to show I am the most dominant Young Lions Champion in the history of this federation by far."
"This makes me happy. For this, I will assist them where I can. Whether it be fighting by their side in tag team matches or simply wanting them to win as I watch their matches... It is this simple. I will attack whoever decides to stand in our way."
"And should Matthew Shields, Kayla Richards or Jack Tillman turn on me tomorrow... What does this gain them?"
With a serious expression towards the camera, Coda answers the question with a scowl.
"It gains them an enemy — the most powerful adversary they will ever encounter in their entire wrestling careers — and it causes them to lose the most valuable weapon at their disposal."
With a confident aura, she continued.
"It would not damage me. It would strengthen me in the long run and leave them weak... vulnerable... So why would Matthew, Kayla, and Tillman voluntarily stab me in the back? Why would I leave right now when there's strength in numbers? Why would I listen to these wannabe Napoleons when I know I am in a good place right now?"
"I cannot predict the future but using deductive reasoning, I see no reason why I should sacrifice my allies in order to appease what you expect to happen. I am stronger than you realize. So while I appreciate these thoughtless considerations for my safety, it is a waste of time on the both of our behalves."
Coda shakes her head again before turning her horse again at the corner.
"Divide and conquer... That is what Alex Jones is attempting to do. With the right words and the correct phrasing, Alex believes I would suddenly give up on the advantages I have within Redemption Wrestling in order to become a better target. He believes he has a chance to win should he destroy The Destroyers from the inside and while this might be a noble goal from his perspective, it is simply idiotic from mine."
"I have decided I would divide and conquer as well. While I might be a main eventer within Redemption Wrestling judging by a number of times I have fought in the main event since my arrival... While I might have been the one who convinced 'The Monster Messiah' that his bygone era has long passed and I might have been the one who caused "Living Greatness" to walk out of the company by proving what a real Young Lions Champion should be... I am still the least likely person to win this fatal fourway match on skill alone."
"So instead... I will allow Alex Jones and Matthew Shields to destroy themselves while I show the entire federation that the Young Lions Championship matters more than Jeremy Starling or Courtney Leinart ever made it look when compared to the outstanding current Redemption Heavyweight Champion... Yujiro Fujiwara."
Coda's compliment caught you for a loop as she stopped the horse in its tracks. Climbing off of the horse, Coda leaned gently against the creature as she reached her conclusion.
"When Devlin Scott sees I can stand toe to toe with the top man in the company, he will realize what a mistake it was to make me prove myself when I debuted here in Redemption Wrestling. He will acknowledge that I am one of the best fighters Redemption Wrestling has on its roster and he will realize I am here to make Redemption Wrestling known as 'The Home Of Coda.' I will retrieve more spots in the main event. I will cement the Young Lions Championship as the second most important championship in the entire federation and The Destroyers will be one step closer to being recognized as the greatest force to ever step foot in a federation ran by Devlin Scott!"
"I am the most dangerous person within this match and this is not because of my tremendous ability. I am the most dangerous person within this match because of my intellect."
"Matthew Shields. Alex Jones. Yujiro Fujiwara. ... There are no allies in this match."
She crossed her arms, confidently.
"Do you know what else Napoleon taught me? 'The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls that chaos, both [their] own and the enemies.' With that in mind... You can be sure I will walk out of the arena as the winner while those three are looking at the rafters."
With a small smile, Coda's soft spoken words continue to come out of her mouth with an abrasive tone.
"I will attempt to make sure I do not send either of you to the infirmary but I cannot make promises. Then again... It would be too merciful to send Alex Jones and Yujiro Fujiwara to the injured reserves. I would rather Matthew Shields decide Alex Jones' fate and I would rather be able to watch Kayla Richards defeat Yujiro Fujiwara to become the new Redemption Heavyweight Champion at Convergence fair and square."
"In the meantime, I will relish the time we have together."
"Thank you, Devlin Scott. This fatal fourway match is what I need to become even stronger."
As the YouTube video came to an end, Coda climbed the horse again and rode in the opposite direction of the camera while the clip faded to black.
