"I'll make this as brief as possible."
Jack Santore is sitting on a chair in the locker room. He's in workout gear, so it seems like he'll be heading to the ring to run drills, possibly with Trixie or maybe he'll hit the weights. Either way, he's sitting forward with his elbows on his knees, his hands are under his chin.
"I hate that I lost. I mean, I keep telling myself that at least I gave a good effort. That I'm glad that I was able to put on a good match for the fans. But you know what?"
Jack leans back and sits against the chair, nodding to himself.
"Losing sucks. I mean, I've been here for months now. I should past the point where "just being here" is good enough. It's not. As a matter of fact, that's just loser talk. It's what people who have been on the losing end of things tell themselves to feel better about losing. And I know...someone has to lose. But I think it's about time that it no longer be me."
Jack folds his arms in the chair. He seems pretty fidgety as he finds yet another position to sit in.
"This won't be easy. Nothing in WCG or Redemption comes easy. Austen could very well be the South Bay Champion right now had he not sacrificed himself for Ruby, had he beat her two weeks ago. I know Austen is going to come in and give me everything that he's got. I don't expect anything less and I'd be pretty pissed if he didn't give me everything."
Jack cocks his head to the side as he purses his lips together, nodding so slightly. He knows that Austen Blackwell is a tough competitor and he's reiterating it to himself.
"I like Austen. He's a nice guy and he's been nothing but nice to me since I came here. I'm sure once the match is over we'll shake hands and continue to be friends no matter who comes out on top. But during the match?"
A slight grin washes over Jack's face. He's eager to get into the ring.
"In the ring we're going to beat the living hell out of one another. We're going to show how badly we both want a title shot and how badly we want to be a champion. So I hope the powers that be are paying attention, because I still have a few tricks up my sleeve."
Jack stands up from the chair as he nods to the camera, then walks out of frame as we fade out.
