With eyes as dark as night and hair as white as snow, a woman shrouded in silence felt the blood crawling down her porcelain skin. The liquid began to slip into her eye until the pale woman smudged it aside with her index finger and nonchalantly flicked it into the mass of humanity who watched her in bewildered awe while others wore disgruntled faces. With a peaceful tranquility, she glanced at the knuckles on her right hand. Blood glistened on her flesh along the bumps, blood belonging to the person who laid flat behind her. With every methodical step forward, she ignored everyone around her but as a couple spectators attempted to speak with her, the beautiful woman with snow white hair suddenly stopped in her tracks.
"You're no longer welcome here," the man dressed in a navy blue blazer spoke, the words Mr. Johnson written firmly on the nametag on his chest. He was flanked by a couple of security guards dressed in blue, arms crossed imposingly as all three glared at the woman with inpatient scowls.
The woman looked back at them with a cold insincere stare, hand resting firmly on her hip.
"Don't worry," she spoke with an unusually heavy emphasis on the contraction. "I wasn't planning on coming back." Shoving the three aside with her freshly manicured hand, the Caucasian headed out the front door with a proud smile adorning the features of her face. Slamming the door behind her while she was beaming with pride, dark blue eyes twinkling against the fluorescent bulbs overhead, she left the rest of the patrons just as bewildered and shocked as before. As soon as the emotions wore away, the customers, the security guards and the owner himself in the dark blue blazer scurried towards the woman who struggled to get back to her feet.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Mr. Johnson hunched over the Korean who grabbed a t-shirt for support, awkwardly climbing the cloth to the best of her ability. Feeling the gentle touch of the store owner caused her to panic slightly, flinching backward before she managed to accept the help. Reluctantly, the woman gripped the owner's hand and tried her best not to flinch this time. Using the owner's strength to climb back to her feet, she brushed the dirt from her button-downed shirt and prepared to speak.
Yuri Moon said nothing.
"Can you speak?" Mr. Johnson asked the woman who watched her surroundings carefully, mouth shut and fists clenched at her sides. "Can you even hear me, Miss?" Looking into her ears, he noticed a pair of earplugs firmly inserted in her ear canals. When he reached her ears, Yuri shoved her arm away with an aggressive animalistic growl. He backed up.
As the crowd of people continued to look at the woman with long brown frazzled hair with pity and a casual disdain, one of the women turned to a nearby man.
"Something's wrong with her," she whispered as quietly as she could, oblivious to the fact that Yuri was more sensitive to sounds than most. "I don't think she's all there." The man nodded, agreeing with her words, and as Yuri tried to open her mouth to speak again, it wouldn't open. No matter how hard she tried to move her mouth, it wouldn't budge. A flurry of responses swam throughout her mind but nothing would come out. It was like the verbal section of her mind had completely shut down for the time being. It was like the rest of the world moved around her and she had no influence on the direction things took.
Yuri's breathing quickened. Her body tensed. Her eyes grew sharper, angrier as more time passed without the ability to respond. The powerful fluorescent lights shined in her eyes and the endless chatter of the mall around her continued to give her a migraine. Adreleine began to erupt within her - her fight or flight response activating - and before Mr. Johnson could say another word, Yuri barged through the crowd with ruthless intentions as she headed straight for the doorway!
Running like a force of nature throughout the mall, Yuri's eyes systematically scanned her environment until a strand of white caught her attention. As soon as the woman with the snow white hair was in sight, Yuri tackled her down to the tiled floor of the mall.
"What's the matter? Having a meltdown, Coda?" The woman smirked with a chilling look in her eye as she glared up at her attacker. "You're so fucking autistic. You're like one of those idiot kids in those YouTube videos, smacking the walls and squealing like a pig for attention. Please! You're probably—"
Before she could speak another word, Yuri rained down punches as hard as she could to keep her quiet. The adrenaline controlled her and as she struggled to keep control, negative thoughts continued to swarm throughout her brain. She thought about the people crowding around them right now, judging her for the outburst. She thought about the whole time she spent trying to pass as normal today, the time she told her sister Mara that she could handle buying a pair of pants from the mall at the time. She thought about the pity Mr. Johnson showed her, the words of the heavyset woman who thought she wasn't all there and she channeled every ounce of emotion she had into her fists.
Growling like an animal and moving unnaturally, Yuri fought herself and struggled to flop to her side. She rolled on the ground and neared the white wall of the mall as everyone watched the scene take place. Shutting her eyes, she rocked back and forth against the wall, repetitively smacking the back of her head against the wall. It opened a wound but she didn't notice. She couldn't stop self-stimulating. It made her feel like she was fine. It made her feel like today never happened. It was calming, the repetitive motions easing her mind in a way that was hard to describe.
The woman with the snow white hair was unconscious. That made Yuri smile. The torment was over. The insults had stopped. She wanted desperately to go home, to climb into bed and shut the lights out. She wanted to get rid of every single sensory input she was receiving and just recharge for a while but as she opened her eyes, she noticed the two security guards standing over her with grim looks on their faces.
Yuri still couldn't speak.
