We open up inside of the home of Alechs Aurelio and Honey. They are joined by his brother, Antonio. As they had won the Redemption Tag Team Championships at One Night Only, some controversy has been in place that Damon’s shoulder was not down. The referee was not in place for a clean look, and so Rebel Ink lost their titles in Memphis. Alechs has seen the replay, and has seen what exactly happened. We open up as he it sitting on the front steps to the house. A mere number of feet behind the home of Honey’s dads, she was out with them doing some shopping as his brother, Antonio, was inside playing some video games. Alechs was able to get outside and have a few minutes to himself to record something.
He knew that their championship reign would be put into questions immediately, and wanted to make sure to deal with that. It would be a point for Blair and Mason to hit them on, and Alechs was making sure to not allow cheap shots to be taken without laying it all out on the line ahead of time.
Alechs: Well.
He exhales deeply.
Alechs: Where do I start? Yeah. I saw the reply. The referee got it wrong. Rebel Ink should not not lost that way. Am I going to sit here and say they should still be tag team champions? Far from it. Who can really say if they would have beat us, or we would have still won? But I do know that at Convergence, if they are indeed the better team right now, that they will beat us and take the titles back. And if we win? It was meant to work itself out. I feel like Honey and I have faced off against Damon and Aurora so many times now, we can almost expect each other to do some of the things that we do inside of the ring. And because of that, I am making sure to mix things up. But there is one points I want to make. IF, and that is a big IF, Rebel Ink manages to take the titles back at Convergence… Honey and I will not challenge them for the titles again. No rematch clause. No surprise matches. Nothing. We will step out of the way and allow some other team the chance… the right to face them. And if they do lose to us? Perhaps they’ve done plenty in the tag division to earn their place and respect, and are both ready to move onto singles competition. That is their choice, obviously.
They have my respect as opponents inside of the ring. They do things that other tag teams wish they could do, and they have earned their place in this industry as one of the best tag teams hands down. New Generation Wrestling. FSociety Wrestling. Redemption Wrestling. All tag team champions, Rebel Ink. That is not a fluke. So beating them to retain the gold at Convergence… that will mean a lot.
He looks up the driveway as a car passes by on the street.
Alechs: I love tagging with my girl; she is the reason I have worked harder and harder in this game. I love wrestling. And she makes it that much more fun. She is the reason we are going strong, and the reason I wake up at dawn to get my run in. And our partnership goes much further than partners. I love Honey, and I am more than happy to have her as my partner. We are on the same page. We train together, and with Avery. We make sure to keep things fresh with new moves, new counter, and new ways to look at a situation. For us, being content will never be the answer. We always want to be the best. And there is no shorting ourselves on that fact.
He pauses, and takes a deep breath.
Alechs: But for this weekend’s Glory, we take on two people that are huge talents in different ways. And they are most definitely enemies to each other. Blair. And Mason. Blair has the experience, and the collection of accolades. I am sure that the Genesis Championship is just a launching platform here in Redemption. And she will likely give Mason a hard match at Convergence. And Mason. A man that claims to be a friend of Honey. I do not trust him. A jacked up, muscle bound guy. Some people claim steroids. Hell, that is none of my business. He gets tested by Devlin Scott. Who am I to accuse him of that? But do I trust him? No as far as I can throw him, and that is not very far. I know that Honey is willing to believe people easily, and I simply do not trust him.
But this match is about us. The Young Cubs. About us working together and defeating two great wrestlers that are far from on the same team. This match is important to Honey and I; it is about setting the record straight that we are not flukes. And that we can work together to beat some of the best. We have our heads on straight and are ready to do whatever it takes.
We do not need “Moore Power” or to be the “Numba One Bitch”... we need to be us. The Young Cubs. And we just need to work together as a team.
This is not about who the best in the ring is. It is a team. Two on two. And there? We lead the edge.
He holds up his championship.
Alechs: We fought hard for this and will continue to do so. And after Convergence there will be no questions. No asterisks. No worrying “what if”. We will do what we came to do, and fulfill that our own goals in this sport.
So bring whatever you have for us Blair. Whatever you has Mason.
This is OUR time to shine.
