For years, the wrestling world has witnessed greatness, brilliance and countless hours of physical advancements... .. .. and then we have Ryan.
"And I was like....Why are you so obsessed with me?"
It"s been a hell of a month for the West Coast Champion, Ryan Keys. He’s been up and down and everywhere in the Vegas and West coast thanks to his new manager. Lan has been a great addition, though his ambitions have worked the superstar hard with endless appearances and hosting gigs. But even with everything he’s done, Ryan still found time to be serious. Crossroads: Rise has finally come, and he’s ready.
We see Ryan Keys sitting on a chair, casually adorning his body with paint back in his loft where he’d usually stay. The Arena was not that far from where he lived, so the man took his time to prepare. A modern decorated living space adorned his surroundings as the man painted over his face, having his drawing resemble something like a shark. In his head, he replayed the events that had lead up to this day, how he won his West Coast title on his debut, marking the WCG history books as its first ever champion. Countless battles happened afterwards, he’s won his fair share through his skills and confidence and lost fairly through the faults of his judgement. Ryan has learned from his wrong doings and took himself away from his distractions. Now he only wait, biding his time in order to strike down in an instant, like a predator would.
Ryan is finishing up the saturated Blue finished on his face as well as applying his Clack contact lenses to further sell the illusion. All geared up in his wrestling attire, covered up by his grey sweatpants adorning lowly on his hips. His tanned skin was covered in Blue body paint, though his abdominal muscles showed in great definition. His West Coast title sat in front of his vanity, shining brightly under the lights as Ryan stares at it deep in thought, taking in a few moments before lifting it up and carrying it lightly over his broad painted shoulder. Ryan inhales calmly as he took a few more glances over at his work of art. His signature smirk played on his lips before his face focused, cold Black eyes stare doing at the camera close to him before he began.
"A predator must have skills, talent and strength to overcome his prey. Not only that, but brains, coordination and a fair amount of dedication to achieve their goal. I’ve proven this time and time again inside the ring, people have seen it with their very eyes, how I move, how I think and how I act. But… there are still those blinded few that value status over ability. Those few mock my way of live, antagonize my action and above all, show disrespect by running their mouths like if anything they say has any worth.”
He remembered about endless comments he’s gotten over the past few month, it only made his blood boil with anger that could only be subdued inside the ring. Ryan smiles himself as he taps his thumb over the plate of the West title on his shoulder. He knows his true worth, and he’s about to show it at the Pay per view.
"Crossroads presents up with it’s second installment, Rise. This is where I break my silence. This is what I’ve trained for, what I’ve worked so hard while blocking out the negative image people have painted of me. A hideous piece of art that’s nothing but hate and a whole lot of underestimating. They forget who it is their dealing with simply because of my absence in what they think matters. I am the first ever West Coast champion, a relic of what was once Alpha Rising. That will not get washed away, no matter how much gets thrown my way. My skills and abilities have set the bar and I’m just waiting for each and every show to come around so that I can fight the good fight in the ring. That is the type of champion I am. Outside of the ring I’m just a guy living his own life. I train for what I work for and I dedicate myself to what’s important to me and my happiness. That may sound like bullshit to those who are so soaked up in their own fantasy world that they can’t see past the squared circle. I’m just gonna do people a favor and bring these people back to reality.”
He paces around the hardwood floor just thinking about his previous matches. A lot has changed since the beginning, but his heart is still in the same place. Walking away from the room, he switches off the lights and gathers his Brick Sharks jacket he favors the most just to glide it over his body carefully to not ruin his work. The camera follows him, and gets a clear view of the title being held over Ryan"s shoulder.
"I have a question for my opponent tonight. Julianna, Why are you so obsessed with me? All he hate, all the anger, it has to be coming from somewhere. There isn’t a day that goes by that you so kindly dodge talking to me directly only to mention the name Ryan. A big problem with that is that you could be talking about anyone, because I’m gonna show you a little trick. You here with me? There is this thing that starts with an a specific symbol called “At”, it’s very hard to miss. Everyone has one, and they are mostly used when you want to talk with or about someone. Mine is @ryakkeyskeys, you type in ‘Keys’ twice because it sounds so nice. The minute you do that in your tweets, my phone will eventually ring and I might get the message. Simple, right? But no, you and your simple thinking just types away your hate and I have to hear about it almost two to three weeks later. And it’s not even a hello either, it’s just you running your mouth because that’s the only little thing you know how to do. And then you ask yourself why people protect me. And that’s because they are tired of hearing you talk. You forget why you couldn’t win this title at West coast’s first live show, you also forget how you couldn’t beat me for it at Crossroads Origin, just like how you forget that I’m a serious competitor with it’s time for me to go to work. Sure, you’ve gotten a few good hit on me, not gonna lie you’ve beaten me before. I’m a wrestler, not an unbeatable God just because of a shiny belt around my waist. It’s funny how people forget about that. I’ll take a beating, I’ll pull back and learn from it. And you better believe that I have learned so much.”
Ryan stares out into the open view before releasing a breath. The sunlight from the outside shine over him as he makis his way down the hallway, grabbing only a few items for his journey. He smiles and turns away as he speaks again.
"You know, you may be thinking that i'm underestimating you, with your record I might as well, but no. I don’t think like that. It’s infect the opposite. Julianna, I’m overestimating you. Tonight on Rise I want you to show me what all those days of typing away a hundred and forty or less characters have done for you and your skills. And while you're at it, since you like bringing up other companies you’ve worked for so much, I want you to show me why it is that you’ve gotten so far in whatever even it is you’ve done in the past. Humor me. Because I got a whole track record of my long history in the wrestling business to more than match your accomplishments. But you wouldn’t know that, would you. No, to you I’m just a guy in the developmental program. Maybe it’s better you keep thinking that way, it’ll be so much better for me when I prove you wrong again. You don’t respect me as a champion, that’s fine by me, I’m gonna do whatever it takes to get that respect from you. I’m gonna try my best to break you out of that little fantasy world you have. Rise or fall I’m gonna stay right where I am like the bane you think I am in your life. C’mon, tonight I welcome you to try anything, I’m gonna meet you halfway in everything just to prove my point. “
He smiles, knowing that he has a hard fight ahead of him, but he is going in it with confidence. The camera moves around with him before it focused back on his cold stare.
"This will be our third time in the ring competing for this title. I have won against you for it twice now, and I am itching for a third. We’ll meet in that ring at Crossroads: Rise I will go all out, I"ll pull out all the stops like I have in the past and I will defend myself as champion against you. It"s going to be hard to say it, but it might be the last time in awhile that I will get to defend my title against you. It"s not by my wish, but it’s only fair that I get new challengers that have proven themselves to be a champion. Hear me well when I say this, you and me haven’t done anything different from each other when it comes to going for the West Coast championship. The only difference is that is that in the end result I came out on top,and you stayed bitter about it. I am not going to be you. I am a bit more stubborn than you are, and I can fight back to prove it. I already have, but it looks like I have to remind you again.”
He looks down as he pulled off the title off his shoulder and held it between his hands. This is what they are fighting for, the title that is at stake. But to Ryan it’s much more than that.
"Come at me when what you have, I’ve been waiting for the challenge all this time, and now it’s finally my moment to show you why I’m a champion. Tonight I’m the predator and you’re the prey, and there’s nothing you can do to stop me.
"
Ryan looks up at the camera as he slowly raises the title over his head, letting the image set in wait a smile on his face. As the scene fades away the question is still in the the air. Ryan has said his piece and now it’s time to show it.
