Gabe sat alone in his office. The gym outside his window lay dark and foreboding as he looks out before turning his attention back to the stack of papers on his desk. A combination of financial and divorce paperwork lay strewn across his desk. He shuffles through a few signing where he is required. He takes a final few moments to organize the papers to prepare to file and send those he needs to to his lawyer.
Sitting back, he pinches the bridge of his nose as a headache starts to settle in. Shaking his head he stands and walks to his office doorway and stares out into the darkened gym. It felt appropriate for the mood Gabe was in. The uncertainty of the future was bleak as far as his gym, his dads gym was concerned. With what he had to give up in the divorce he just didn’t know how he could keep the place afloat in the short term. He knew he could make it successful but he was just way to leveraged to float 3 months on the negative.
He hated now that he was closing his original gym, but he couldn’t afford both places after the divorce and with giving up the Name and branding, he didn’t see how he could keep either. It was then in that dark moment standing in the doorway between the light of his office and the dark of the gym he remembered. It started as an inclination but he remembered that John had given him a letter. One he hadn’t opened. He wasn’t sure but he returned to his desk to open the letter.
Dear Mr. Griffin
I understand that this letter will come as a surprise to you. Seeing as it is a letter of introduction to make an offer. I have been aware of the growth of your training facilities for some time. It is without a doubt something you have put work into and because of that I want to make you and offer. I know what you’re thinking you can’t sell the place, this is why I want to be a silent partner. I have my reasons and you will find enclosed a check in good faith to begin negotiations…
The letter went on but Gabe was confused at first and slowly came to realize what this could mean. It was the answer that would save the gym. The check was substantial and it was just what the gym needed as far as cash infusion. He quickly called his sister who was still owner in the BeatU Side of things and and broke the news to her. It was the first time in the past two weeks Gabe really began to smile. With this weight off his shoulders it was time to prepare for his match.
