“I think I struck a nerve”
Kayla smiles wide and looks over at her younger sister Tasmin and her boyfriend Jason talking and giggling in the corner of the large warehouse gym. Kayla moves her long black hair to the side and tilts her head slightly with that same smile from before locked on her face.
“I mean, that was so emotional from Adrien, the whole thing. The look in his eyes, the slight deep nature in his voice as he spoke. It was heartbreaking when he told us all about poor Stacy and her injury. How she begged and pleaded to still be able to wrestle with a tear rolling down her cheek. Oh god it was harrowing. It was so emotionally draining and so many people would have heard the words and pictured her sitting there, her own little voice speaking up in pure frustration with an unyielding need and want to stand proudly next to her boyfriend….”
“It’s just too bad the entire story is nothing but bullshit….”
“A bunch of crap designed to make us all feel bad for you and for us to suddenly pretend like she didn’t just tuck tail and run when she figured out she was never going to be able to beat someone like me. Stacy ran her mouth about Karnage and when everybody laughed because that place is a bigger joke than John Blade she got disheartened, realised that she would be stripped naked of all her accomplishments and the little aura she had built around herself and exposed as a fraud. So she ran Adrien. She’s left you all alone to deal with myself, Matt, Coda and Jack. And here you are putting on a brave face and trying so hard to be convincing and show us you #Believe.
“But no one Believes….”
“No one believes in you and you have even said it yourself that everyone tells you time and time again that you are nothing…”
“All you have is self belief and while you think it can serve you well you have to wake up tomorrow morning and deal with the fact that you are simply not dealing with the average professional wrestler anymore. You’re not dealing with the FSW idiots. Just like Stacy woke up and realised she wasn’t dealing with the trashy scrubs from Karnage. But the difference between you and your little blonde girlfriend?....”
Kayla shoots a small grin and laughs.
“She was smart enough to pack her bags and go home while you in your ignorance think you have a shot….”
Kayla slides down from the ring apron to the floor, she folds her arms over her chest as her green eyes sparkle.
“I’m sure if you decide to get in front of a camera and open your mouth again before the show in a few days you’ll take that one little comment and stretch it out into a five minute, bland ass snippet like you did about smiling. Yes smiling. I did say you and your idiot girlfriend smile too much. But I guess if her injury is real she isn’t smiling now….”
“The oddness of this situation really starts to hit home when you defend the whole thing so much. You went into great detail about the contract and what it means. The fact that her injury was so severe she was released instead of simply being put on an injured reserve list shows she didn’t really want to be here, and Devlin didn’t really care. It seems to be such a standard thing in wrestling today, you come in to a company you assess the competition and realise if you can’t be a top dog and the best because you’re trash you walk out the door and that is was Stacy Sterling did, that is what Gavin Grimes did, That is what Ashleigh Grimes did and that is what Gray fucking Malone did….”
“The whole lot of you look at Matt, look at me and you realise that with us being on top you cannot even come close. But It seems like you Adrien are the only one with balls big enough or a brain dead enough to stay and pose a threat….”
“Of course Adrien a “threat” is a bit of a stretch. I mean sure you can claim two wins over me. Both Tag matches. But then what Adrien?. You came in with all this huge fanfare and luster and have won a few matches but what have you really done?. You won a tag show for someone else. You lost your girlfriend and are now standing alone against Matthew and all you can really say to me is that I’m an arrogant bitch?. That Matt and I are similar in personality?....well no shit sherlock. You know how you tell me and Matt apart?...”
“I’m the one with the big tits and british accent….”
“But we’re like minded. It’s why we work so well together. And it might be hard for someone like you to believe but Matt and I are deeply in love. And unlike your little mentally fragile girlfriend there is nothing on this earth that would make me leave Mathews side. But since you decided to bring it up Adrien, the reason why I mentioned the whole thing with you and Tyson and Alex is because it really is the only part of your career I know or care about…”
Kayla shrugs and shakes her head.
“I’m sorry but it’s true, you were relevant there and now here and your older career doesn’t concern me. But since you wanted to bring it up please tell me what you know about my career mr high and mighty. Aside from Redemption I was in two other companies IWF and LAW. LAW was maybe a month and I won 4 from 4 matches before my ex at the time got a bee up her ass and decided to walk out. Meanwhile in IWF I walked in, won a tournament beating every top female there and won a championship before going on a run that still hasn’t been beaten…..”
“Then I walked into Redemption, I win Rags 2 riches and I outshine people like you and your idiot girlfriend. That has been in maybe...13 months of career time with a huge year break I only returned a few months from. And nI exploded back on the scene. I have become more relevant in three months than you were for the last few years. And it’s going to continue Adrien because while you’re here preaching about how horrible I am….I’m proving you right….and that right there should be a scary thought. Because no matter how bad you believe me to be, and how evil or dangerous?....”
“I’m actually...much worse….”
“So this Sunday night you will turn up to One Night Only in Memphis, you’ll walk out to that ring with or without a partner and Matthew and I will take your goddamn head clean off your shoulders. We will end you and destroy you like the insignificant little bug that you are floating around us desperately trying to get attention. And then little Adrien, I will go on to face Yujiro at Convergence, I will take the Redemption heavyweight championship, Matt will go on to face the best of the best and you will slip into obscurity with your idiot, pathetic wannabe superhero girlfriend…”
