OOC: Joint rp by myself and Adrien
After the hecticness of what went down a couple days ago Blair found herself sitting outside Eddie's home in NOLA. The Number One Bitch was dressed casually in a pair of black skinny jeans and a red tank top, her green hair pulled up into a high ponytail and a cancer stick between her index and middle finger. Occasionally taking a puff off the cigarette as she tried to nail down her exact thought process at the time.
Jack: “Mommy! Daddy! There’s a green haired lady outside!!”
Young Jack Walker notices Blair out the window before running towards her mother. Blair can hear the voice of her manager from the inside.
Eddie: “Green hair? Yeah, I know who that is. We’ll be in my office.”
The front door opens and the now forty-two year old steps outside.
Eddie: “You know that stuff is going to kill you, right?”
Blair: “I've survived this long, not too worried at this point.”
Her response came in her usual sarcastic tone as she stood up from her spot after butting out the smoke.
Blair: “Besides, I like to live life dangerously.”
Eddie: “Well, I like my clients to outlive me since you all are younger than me. Even if I only have you beat by a single digit number of years. If you’re done lighting up, you’re welcome inside. Air conditioning and what not…”
Blair: “That’d probably be a good idea. Left one hot as balls place to go to another one… cept you guys have humidity. Lead the way old man.”
Eddie leads Blair through a side entrance of the house that brings the two almost immediately into Eddie office. Walker immediately takes a seat in his usual chair behind his desk. Blair took a seat opposite Eddie once in the office, crossing one leg over the other and leaning back in the chair with a sigh.
Blair: “There’s certain things that happened and it seems a few people have the wrong idea. I wanted to come here and set the record straight… if you’re willing to listen.”
Walker leans back in his chair.
Eddie: “I’m listening.”
Blair: “I’m sure you know about how many times I’ve been down this road. When he popped the question the plan was to keep it quiet, from everyone. I didn’t want the blow back of all the negative nancy’s in the world. We weren’t going to tell anyone but the other day shit got out of hand and boom… there it went.”
Eddie: “I know you’ve had a rough patch of marriages. Believe me, I’ve seen Adrien get engaged twice, married and divorced once...and he had to attend the funeral of the one he didn’t marry. But if he popped the question to Stacy, I’d probably be the first person they would tell. Even if it is still a bit of a hush situation, like it was when they first started dating. Because they trust me. What I felt like happened when you kept that secret from me for five days was that you didn’t trust me, Blair. And I don’t know how I can effectively do my job if you don’t trust me.”
Blair let out a deep sigh, shaking her head slightly.
Blair: “That’s not it at all. Look, I didn’t even tell my family about this and there’s not many people in this world I trust more than my twin brother. He found out via twitter too. It’s not a matter of trust, it’s a matter of keeping shit quiet that doesn’t really need to be said. My decisions aren’t the greatest in the world. I thought of telling you at the party but that was your day and from there just all the other things going on. It’s easy to lose yourself in a lot of it.”
Eddie: “And I could have done without the new fiance attacking me this morning on Twitter. Not exactly the alarm clock I was hoping for when I had to worry about getting me to LA and Adam back to St. Louis. I almost quoted Louis C.K. to him.”
Blair: “Isaac doesn’t like seeing me upset and pretty much goes after people that he feels cause it. He didn’t realize my annoyance yesterday wasn’t because of you as much as Kessler and Alex.”
Eddie: “It felt like my feelings on the matter were invalidated, but I guess there’s nothing that can be done about that now.”
Blair’s gaze focuses down for a moment, shrugging her shoulders.
Blair: “In terms of emotional stuff going on I’m pretty closed off to most, only a select few make it by the barrier. That’s not to say I don’t trust you, that’s mostly to say based on my past there’s certain things I don’t discuss or bring up. I’m still getting used to this whole having a manager and being apart of a family thing. Especially when two members of my own family have already fucked me over in the past. It takes time Eddie… I can’t speak for Isaac but that’s what I can say from my side.”
Eddie: “Isaac isn’t my client. You are. Whether he likes me or respects me, it would be nice but it’s not imperative. I just need to know that this isn’t a sign of things to come. Like I said, the only way I can do my job to the standards that benefit you, I can’t be having to worry about you keep secrets like this. What if you have some sort of injury I don’t know about so I sign off on a tables, ladders, and chairs match? What if you made a deal to appear at this place without telling me and I make a booking for the same time? We have to work together and be as open with one another as we can if we’re going to make this work.”
She nods.
Blair: “In the future, I will be more open… As far as this situation goes, what I can tell you is it's not going to be a big thing and chances are there won't even be a ceremony. I'll let you know the day we plan on doing it so my schedule is clear for sure.”
Eddie: “I don’t need an invite. Just the date and location so I can make the plans accordingly for you. I’m not asking you to make me this overbearing figure in your life. I just need you to keep me in the loop so that we can work together as efficiently as possible. I know you work by keeping people at an arm’s distance and that’s not quite how I’ve been treating my clients, being as I’ve basically made most of them unofficial Walkers at this point. But if you promise there will be no more secrets between us, then we will be good.”
Blair: “If you want I'll tell you every boring detail of my life right down to my oldest son's first soccer game of the season.”
Eddie: “Jack plays soccer! Give me the play by play!”
A slight grin came to Blair's face, finally relaxing a bit since getting there. They continued to talk, things getting a lot more lighthearted.
