Aiden is standing around in the kitchen, leaning up against the counter while sipping on a beer in his hand. A few moments pass when his girlfriend, Melissa Reeves, walks up to him with a sad look on her face.
Melissa Reeves: "...hey.”
Aiden Morrow: "Hey, what's going on?"
Melissa Reeves: "I don't know where to even start today. I feel like I can't do anything right. Fought with Alex, fought with Mercy...and there's something I've been meaning to tell you...I just don't know how to."
Aiden furrows his brow once he hears that last part. He lets out a sigh grabs Mel's hand before giving her a reassuring smile.
Aiden Morrow: "Hey... The stuff with Mercy isn't your fault. I would just let it lie for a bit and not even bother. Also for Alex, she's your sister and will get over It."
He pauses as he squeezes her hand.
Aiden Morrow: "As for whatever you want to say, you know you can talk to me about anything and I won't judge."
Melissa Reeves: "Fuck Mercy. I unfollowed her, I don't care anymore."
She sighs.
Melissa Reeves: "And Alex and I made up, but I upset her and I really didn't mean to. We talked though, I told her what I'm gonna tell you...she insisted I have to tell you."
She takes in a deep breath, shoulders slumped.
Melissa Reeves: "So a little while ago I started getting a little sick. And I thought it was maybe morning sickness, so I did pregnancy tests...but it's not that. So I went to the doctor and they ran some blood tests to try and figure it all out. Turns out it was just an infection, but the blood tests picked up some other stuff..."
Aiden's eyes widen as he looks at Mel with a concerned look on his face.
Aiden Morrow: "Other stuff? Like what? Are you okay? When did this happen? Were we together yet? Whatever it is, we'll get through it together."
Aiden's words come out a bit panicky, showing how much her cares for Melissa and how much it worries him knowing something came back wrong with her blood work.
Melissa Reeves: "It was just before we got together and then I guess I never really knew how to tell you..."
She looks down as she speaks.
Melissa Reeves: "Long story short...there's a "significant" chance I can't have kids. They found some issue in the bloods and...yeah. Like, it's not impossible, they don't think, but it's like...a long shot...and I know we brought the idea up before, I just...it's been hard to swallow the idea...I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
Aiden immediately wraps his arms around her and squeezes her tightly for a moment. He eventually lets out a sigh of relief as he leans back and peers into her eyes while keeping his arms around her waist.
Aiden Morrow: "Babe... I don't want to sound like this doesn't matter, because it does... But I'm just glad that health wise, you're okay. That's all that matters to me. I already know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you and it sucks that we might not be able to have kids together but..."
He pauses and places his hands on her cheeks as he gazes into her bright blue eyes.
Aiden Morrow: "But we still have AJ, you know? I trust you with him and when the moment comes, I do want you to adopt him so that officially become his mom."
He chuckles for a moment.
Aiden Morrow: "He actually asked me the other day if you were his new mommy."
Melissa Reeves: "I just...feel useless in yet another way."
She wells up a little and falls against his shoulder. After a few moments of sobbing she manages to speak again.
Melissa Reeves: "Did...he really say that?"
She sniffles and looks at him through her blurry eyes before Aiden offers a smile and a nod.
Aiden Morrow: "He did. You want to know what I said?"
Aiden reaches up and wipes the tears away from Mel's cheeks before she slowly nods.
Aiden Morrow: "I told him you will be but that he needs to keeping on treating you with love and respect like he has been the last few months. He promised that he was going to do that and said that he never wants you to go away."
Aiden looks a bit sad as he says the last part but he forces up a smile.
Aiden Morrow: "He's been through a lot. A lot of people coming in and out of his life, so I get that he's worried you might disappear one day."
He leans forward and rests his forehead on hers as his eyes stare into hers.
Aiden Morrow: "But I reassured him that you're not going anywhere and I could promise him that because I know for a fact it's true. You and me? We belong together. We have since the first moment I laid eyes on you.”
Melissa Reeves: "I...that's...so sweet. I don't really know what to say."
She finally smiles and pulls Aiden into a tight hug, kissing his cheek over and over.
Melissa Reeves: "I love you, Aiden. I really, really do... And AJ, too. I...yeah, I think I'd like to adopt him when the time is right, too. I want us to be a family. Us two, plus my sister, you know? It feels like we're putting down roots, doesn't it?"
Aiden Morrow: "It does! And speaking of which, I guess there's something I've been meaning to ask you too. Don't worry, I'm not getting down on one knee... Yet."
He laughs and sticks out his tongue playfully.
Melissa Reeves: "Weird, something I wanted to ask you too. But...you go first."
His brow furrows.
Aiden Morrow: "Why do I feel like we're going to ask the same thing?"
He lets out a laugh before pausing and taking a deep breath.
Aiden Morrow: "Well, AJ and I stay here a lot as it is and when I do go home, I don't like being thirty minutes away from you. So I wanted to see if maybe you wanted us to move in officially?"
Melissa Reeves: "Damn it."
She gently punches his arm.
Melissa Reeves: "Knew I should have gone first."
Aiden laughs as he grabs his shoulder and playfully acts hurt.
Aiden Morrow: "So abusive!"
He grins before pulling Mel near him and leaning in close to her.
Aiden Morrow: "You never gave me a yes or no answer. Here's the deal, if it's no, you punch me again. If it's yes, then kiss me."
She raises her fist high...then kisses him.
Melissa Reeves: "I got a key cut...when I got Alex's done the other day. So...yeah, you can have it."
She smiles and wipes at her eyes.
Melissa Reeves: "I'm sorry about all that. Sometimes I guess the emotions just boil over."
Aiden Morrow: "Awesome! Can't wait to move in fully now!"
He gives her a quick kiss before placing a hand on her cheek and smiling.
Aiden Morrow: "And hey, you don't need to apologize for getting emotional. It's what I'm here for. You lean on me, I lean on you. Hell, how many nights have I woken you up because I freaked out from a bad dream?"
Melissa Reeves: "True. But I'm never mad about that. I hate that it happens, but I understand it."
She stands and moves off, before appearing a little later with the key in hand.
Melissa Reeves: "...here. This is yours now."
She presses it gently into the palm of his hand and he squeezes it ias he grins like an idiot.
Aiden Morrow: "It's almost like you've given me the key to your heart! Don't worry, I'll keep it safe!"
He winks at her.
Melissa Reeves: "You better, or I'll have to kick you."
She chuckles.
Melissa Reeves: "It's so weird. Gone from Kenzi and I to just me, now it's you, AJ and Alex. You ARE okay that she's here, right?"
He's nods.
Aiden Morrow: "Of course I'm okay with it. She's a good kid and hey, she obviously came here because she needed you. I'm not gonna take that away from Alex. I'm not that selfish, even though sometimes I do want you all to myself!"
Melissa Reeves: "She's spending all her time with her boyfriend, anyway. So I doubt she'll be in the way much..."
Mel smiles.
Melissa Reeves: "But it is nice she's around. And it's good you guys get along."
Aiden Morrow: "We do. I just hope she doesn't try to get us to let Corey move in or something ridiculous like that!"
He rolls his eyes and laughs.
Melissa Reeves: "Might be a bit cramped, huh? But they only just met anyway."
He laughs lightly and nods.
Aiden Morrow: "True enough. Doesn't matter to me, as long as everyone in this house is happy... That's all I care about."
Aiden steps in and smiles before embracing Melissa and the two stand their in each other's arms without a care in the world.
