The scene opens up to Aiden Morrow standing inside of what appears to be his ‘man cave’ at his home. The room has trophies, championships, framed photos and framed documents. Aiden is facing one framed document with a smile on his face. He turns and looks at the camera while pointing at the document.
Aiden Morrow: “You know what this is? It’s my Alpha Rising contract. It’s how it all started. I might not have gotten to do anything at Alpha before NGW, IPW and Alpha all closed together due to legal issues that Devlin Soctt had, but you know what? I love looking at this contract. Why? Because it put my name out there. Alpha closed and people suddenly wanted to sign this guy who was a nobody, people were looking at Aiden Morrow and paying attention to him. But still, I was the newest Alpha guy, the one who was at the lowest of the totem pole but what happened?”
“Legacy Wrestling decided to take a shot on me, while Joey Reyes, a legend in this sport, decided to help train me… As well as date me at the time but that’s a completely different story that can be saved for a later date or we can just not speak on it at all.”
Aiden lets out a laugh while shaking his head.
Aiden Morrow: ”Anyway, let’s not get sidetracked. Like I was saying, Legacy Wrestling took a shot on me and what did I do? I rose to the top and I became their Legacy Heavyweight Champion. I took the ball and ran with it and since then? I haven’t looked back. That’s why when I was in Victory Wrestling, I was one of the top people their as well and fought in their first match for the Victory Championship. I ended up failing for the first time ever in that match but it was a learning experience. It helped me get better and when I made my debut in Proving Grounds Wrestling a few months later… I became their first Proving Grounds Champion.”
“I had an up and down road in Proving Grounds but I was able to defend my title a few times before dropping it. I ended my time there by beating Kaylee Cross and now here I am, in Redemption Wrestling. I think the name of the company is fitting. It’s redemption for NGW, IPW and Alpha, it’s redemption for Devlin Scott… Why? Because it gives all of those things a second chance. But you know what? It’s also redemption for me too. Because it gives me a chance to continue what i wanted to start. Now I know that Redemption is a different animal compared to what it was before, but I’m ready and willing to step up to the plate for the challenge.”
“I know a place like this is going to bring out the best in me. The competition here is top notch and it’s run like a well oiled machine. No matter who is put in front of me, I can guarantee that I’m going to give my best and there won’t be any complaints on my end. That being said, I also expect to work my way up here in Redemption. So, if that means that I have to start with the Young Lions Championship and work my way up, then I will. I’ll earn whatever comes my way and you won’t see me making any demands.”
He smiles and nods.
Aiden Morrow: ”So, let’s get to talking about my opponent, yeah? Anton Chase is the first guy I get to fight. I know that Anton isn’t a slouch, considering the fact that he was the first ever Redemption Wrestling Genesis Champion. That’s something he’ll be able to hang his hat on for the rest of his career but the fact is, he’s had a string of bad luck lately. While he might have started off strong here in Redemption, he has seemed to have falter. He recognizes that and he thinks that he’s going to change his bad luck against me. Let me set the record straight, that just isn’t going to happen. Anton is a good competitor but he doesn’t work as hard as I do, he doesn’t bring the same caliber of wrestling to the ring that I do.”
“Don’t believe me? Look at what I’ve done compared to him. Look at our careers right now even. He had an up here and now he’s on a downfall. Me? I’ve never experienced that before but that’s because I don’t make excuses for myself. When I lose, I come back stronger than ever because I work harder than anyone else after a moment like that. I obsess over it even. I train, I watch tape to find my weaknesses and then I correct them. But Anton here? What does he do? He makes up every excuse in the book for why he loses. Just like in his last promo, he talked about all of these excuses of why he lost to Ashleigh Grimes.”
“We’re talking about THEE Ashleigh Grimes, the one who’s never lost, who’s never been pinned or submitted. People would give up anything just to get in the ring with her and see how they can do against someone that freakin’ talented. But Anton is giving excuses for why he lost and he basically said the referee helped Ashleigh because she’s a ‘woman’. So, Anton, do you think women are inferior to men in this sport? Because if you think that, then you’re going to lose to a lot more women than just Ashleigh Grimes with that kind of crappy and cocky attitude. Hell, I’ve been pinned by my own girlfriend, Melissa Reeves, in a match, and she’s one of the women in this sport who doesn’t get the credit that she deserves. She’s literally one of the best in the business today.”
Aiden pauses and laughs while shaking his head.
Aiden Morrow: ”Sorry, sometimes I get sidetracked when bragging about my amazing girlfriend. Anyway, my point is that Anton Chase makes too many excuses for his faults. If you keep on making excuses, you’re not going to be able to make yourself better, you’re not going to be able to work on you. Anton, I suggest you took a look in the mirror and think about what you need to do to improve on yourself. Because right now, you’re tearing everyone but yourself down. And as for me joining the Redemption bandwagon, I had my choice to join any company I wanted but I choice here because I knew it would test my abilities. I knew it would make me even better than I am. I did what was best for me, not because I followed anyone else’s path. I’m also here because, well…”
Aiden points up at the contract he’s standing next to once again.
Aiden Morrow: ”It’s time to come back to the place that was supposed to be my home. Alechs and Trixie came here shortly after Alpha closed, but now it’s my turn. It’s my turn to show you all the man that I’ve become over the eleven months. It was August 5th of last year that I signed my Alpha contract and now almost a year later, here I am in Redemption. I’m going to do what I originally wanted to do… I’m going to rise to the top of this company.”
