“The smartest man in wrestling?”
Alechs scrolls a bit on his phone, and highlights the record of Chuck Matthews in Redemption Wrestling.
“Three matches. Three losses. And a show off. It seems like he is smart by avoiding matches in which he knows he will lose. Yeah he may have gifted Drake a win back at WrestleForce, but a loss is a loss on the record books. Sitting a six and seven is nothing to call home about… coming off of being suspended. I don’t have a lot of room to talk. But I am still relatively new in my career. You? Well you are a seasoned veteran, correct?”
Alechs is sitting on the edge of a park bench. Children can be heard off into the distance. Blue skies. All seems well and good.
“This is a very different world for me. I’ve changed as a person. I’ve gotten better. I’ve grown up. And yet, my past continues to haunt me. And for you, Charles? You seemed to come into the company with some hype and have yet to do much. I would rather get into the ring and lose to a competitor then to claim I was the smartest man and avoid a match. Win or loss, I am a man and give it my all. I don’t play these little mind games. I expect you to be inside of the ring when the bell rings, and take me on like a true competitor. I do hope that you will take this match seriously. I may not be one of the top dogs here in the company, but week by week I do what I can to improve myself and my track record should show that. I have worked along with my partner to earn ourselves contention for the tag titles, and deservedly so. I have no clue what you think of me, and honestly it does not mean much… I plan on making a strong first impression on you. So bring it on Charles. I will be ready. Will you?”
Alechs stands up and begins to walk off camera as what we saw to be a backdrop of a park begins to dim out and the entire facade of him sitting in a park fades out.

“The smartest man in wrestling?”
Alechs scrolls a bit on his phone. This time he checks out the Redemption Wrestling Twitter Feed.
“I guess I was not very smart, getting myself suspended and then having my own personal issues outside of the ring. But there is no worry on that front. It is being handled, and will not impact what I have going on in Redemption. I have a plan. I have goals.”
Alechs is sitting on the edge of a curb. Behind him is a poorly-kept and out-of-date concrete building. Fans and air conditioners make up over half of the windows. Loud car sounds from a nearby highway, as well as people yelling and screaming.
“This is my home. There is where I come from. And it made me who I am. But I will not let it define me. I am more than some street punk. I am more than some drug dealer. I am more than some gang banger. I represent my mother. I represent my brothers. I represent ma familia. I will not go down without a fight. This is a life I lived for too long. A life that a special girl is trying to save me from. And yet? I still get caught up in the life. You can take me out of the hood. But the hood will always be a part of who I am. The feeling of cold metal in my hands. The rush of adrenaline. It is not something that a man can forget. And it is more real than what some people may ever experience.”
Alechs stands up as a beat up car rolls by with four Latino men that appear to be barely of age. Alechs nods to them, as they lift their heads in respect.
“Out here? It’s about respect. It’s about doing what you gotta do for family. And family? That is more than just blood. Family does not begin and end there. It is for your boys. Who are down for you since day one. Throwing down without question. They are willing to step in and handle business if the situation calls for it. I may be trying to better myself. And they respect that. But that does not mean that I am not who I am. Or that I’ve forgotten where I’ve come from.”
Alechs lifts his head and takes in a large breath of air. He tils his head back and takes it in.
“My rise to bettering myself for myself, my family, and for her? That starts now. I am a fucking man. I need to act like it. No more of this teenage shit. Time to get that out of my head. Out of my body. It is time to be the man that my father should have been. To be the man that Arturo needed. And to be the man that Antonio needs. I am Alechs Aurelio. And I will make sure that name is known as an important name.”
He pulls out a picture from his pocket. It is of a young him, and both of his brothers; Arturo and Antonio. Normally a non-emotional Alechs Aurelio seems to break down on camera as he begins to feel an overwhelming feeling. He is at a crossroads in life and is realizing that he cannot give into the easy way of doing things, and it is time for him to do the right thing. Alechs wipes his face as he slides the picture back into his pocket and walks off camera. The camera focuses on the makeshift cross adorned with flowers in the ground behind where Alechs was standing. The only words on the entire thing were two initials. “AA”
