***** OFF CAMERA *****
Matt Shields stood inside of the ring he had had built in the middle of his massive home gym. He opted for a simple pair of black shorts, black knee pads, and black boots. He hit the ropes and did a quick run, then stopped as he heard the door open.Tasmin stepped in, wearing her black and pink yoga pants and a sports top, her long blonde and black hair tied back as she looked up in the ring and then around the gym. She raised an eyebrow and smirked before approaching the ring.
“Erm, where’s Kayla?”
“Just me for this one. I thought it might be best if you two had a little space.”
Matt looked over at the youngest Richards sister.
“The other day things got a little… intense.”
Tasmin gave a small nod and dropped her bag before jumping onto the apron and stepping in the ring, she moved her arms and bounced up and down on the balls of her feet trying to warm up.
“Well It wouldn’t have been intense if Kayla learned to back off. She’s acting like our mom, do you realise how annoying that is Matt?. I’m a grown ass woman….”
Matt sighed and looked down at the ring.
“First off, get out of the ring, climb back up and wipe your damn feet before you step back in. Secondly, just because you’re eighteen, doesn’t mean you’re a grown ass woman.”
Matt looked up at her to show he was completely serious about both statements. Tasmin stayed silent for a moment, her mouth opening as if she was about to say something before she grabbed the top rope, stepped back onto the apron wiping her feet and getting back in.
“I’m just….I’m sick of being treated like a baby. I’m here with you guys but I pay my way. I come here and train hard, I have never taken it as a joke. I don’t know what any of my personal life has to do with her. I talk to Mason and Kaden, who cares?.”
“Mason is a moronic meathead and you can definitely do better. We would both prefer you don’t talk to him and the nickname thing is sickening. Between the two of them though, I’d rather you talk to him than Kaden. Kaden is…”
Matt stops for a second, looks down and sits in the corner.
“Let’s just say that both of your sisters have damn good reasons to hate him, as does every other woman he has ever been with. He ruins lives, and there’s no damn way that’s happening to you.”
Tasmin growls under her breath and folds her arms
“I’m not going to sleep with Kaden, and I’m well aware of what he did. Especially to Amber. But he’s also a huge name in wrestling and he paid attention to me. It made me feel special I guess. But Mason...he and I...we….”
Tasmin blushes and looks away moving some of her hair behind her ear trailing off with a girlish giggle.
“Oh dear God. “
Matt shakes his head as he stands back up.
“Don’t ever talk about that again. As for Kaden, you may not have intentions of sleeping with him, but I guarantee that dirtbag has designs on you. Even if he’s with some girl right now. He doesn’t give people attention for no reason, Tasmin.”
She looks down and frowns with a nod taking a deep breath.
“Ok I get it. I’m not special. I’m just some girl. Come on...let’s train, I need to work out some aggression”
“I never said that at at all Tazzy. I’m just telling you to be careful. You can’t trust Kaden.”
Matt looked over at her and motioned for her to lock up with him.
“I trust you Matt. You love Kayla and I’m sorry for what I said the other day. I said that maybe I should have believed what other people said but, I’ve seen you with Kayla. You actually love her, you care about Amber….you care about me.”
She steps forward and smiles sweetly reaching out to give Matt a hug. Matt smiles and goes to hug her, but then surprises her by turning it into a headlock.
“Lesson one. Inside this ring, you can’t trust a god damned person.”
Tasmin giggles and struggles realizing she can’t get out of it, she starts to struggle harder panicking.
“Matt….Matt...I can’t…..MATT!”
Matt looks down at her and takes her over, driving her down hard on the canvas.
“Come on, find a way out of this. This is a very basic move. If you can’t find your way out of a move like this, you have no chance in your next match. You want to at least have an even record or suffer your second straight loss?”
Tasmin growls and turns grabbing Matt’s hand separating and pushing out before twisting and popping back to her feet. She crouches down and tilts her head with a smirk.
“I won’t be losing. I need to win, I need to show I’m as good as Kayla...or atleast can be….”
Matt smirks as he sits up.
“You should have tried to use your legs and get me in a headscissors to break that. Don’t just look for a way out, look for a way to change things in your favor.”
Matt winks as he lunges forward, grabs both her legs and lifts her up driving her in to the corner.
“And don’t ever let up, You should have kicked me or slapped me or done anything to keep me down.”
Tasmin smiles and gives Matt a small nod before circling around him.
“That killer instinct, that’s what makes your sisters so good. Amber has it, Kayla damn sure has it, I have it. You want to be great, you want to be anything close to what Kayla is, you have to find that. You have to find that ability to do whatever it takes to get whatever you want.”
Matt looks over at Tasmin, then turns to the door as he hears it close. In walks a young man, long light brown hair, clearly dressed to train.
“You’re early kid.”
“Not every day you train with a champion.”
Tasmin raises an eyebrow and smiles politely before sliding from the ring holding out her hand.
“Hi, I’m Tasmin….I’m Matts sister in law…”
She turns winking at Shields with a giggle. The young man extends his hand and gives Tasmin a sly smile.
“Jason, Hunter. I think I saw you at the show a few weeks back with Matt.”
“Yea, she was there. Remember, the guy I said showed some promise? Figured I’d see if that was true or not.”
Tasmin blushes and looks him up and down obviously slightly smitten as she backs away.
“So am I training or...should I leave you two to it and go find Kayla and make up with her?”
Tasmin glances at Matt then back at Jason moving her hair from her face as her bottom lip curls in her mouth
“Well I’m good training with you, but I don’t know if I could ever hurt such a beautiful young woman.”
Jason smirks as he slyly checks Tasmin out. Matt clears his throat and the young man looks up at him.
“Why don’t you go and find Kayla, Tasmin. You learned the most important lesson I had to teach you.”
Matt gets out of the ring and goes over to Tasmin. He looks over at Jason, then to Tasmin as he leans in towards her ear.
“If he makes it through this, remember what I said about taking what you want.”
She nods slowly before walking past Jason, she grabs her bag fumbling around before looking up.
“Hey Hunter….”
She holds out a piece of paper.
“It’s my number, you ever want to train a little...or talk..or whatever...give me a call…”
Jason smiled as he took her number.
“Definitely.”
Matt smirked for a second, then went stone faced as Hunter turned back towards him.
“Alright kid, enough flirting, get your ass in the ring.”
Jason nodded, hopped up on the ring apron, wiped his feet and went in the ring.
“Well, there’s one point in his favor.”
Matt nods his head and makes his way back to the ring.
