The wrestling world was in shock, former Karnage Championship Wrestling standout Stacy Sterling had just made a surprise debut in Redemption at Glory, just hours after competing in the second round of the 2017 All Female Invitational tournament. For Stacy, this was the moment she had waited for. The chance to return to a ring, in front of the fans that she loved.
Cameras followed the superheroine of the ring as she walked backstage through the curtains, hand in hand with her boyfriend, superstar Adrien Cochrane. Stacy spotted Hannah Lacey and immediately squealed.
Stacy Sterling: Sorry babybabe, I HAVE to talk to Hannah!
Adrien laughed as Stacy quickly kissed him on the cheek.
Stacy Sterling: “How about you go get cleaned up and I’ll meet you in your locker room?”
Adrien nodded, as Stacy hurried over to Hannah, who didn’t have time to avoid the ‘hug tackle’ that Stacy gave her, although she didn’t tackle her to the ground.
Hannah Lacey: Stacy! I was actually looking for you. I was wondering if I could get a few words on your amazing debut tonight at Glory?
Stacy Sterling: Thats funny because I was looking for you!
Sterling looks around her, still finding it hard to believe that she is in Redemption Wrestling.
Stacy Sterling: Honestly, I’m still in awe that I’m actually here. Up until now, my career consisted mostly of me wrestling in Texas. I loved the fans there, and if I could wrestle for them my entire career, I might have chosen to do so, but coming out at Glory, in our Nation’s Capital, and coming to the aid of Adrien and Honey? Hearing the reaction from the fans? It was music to my ears. Kind of like Adrien’s rendition of an Elvis song!
Both women share a laugh, and one thing that was certain was that Stacy was having an amazing time, even in her first night.
Hannah Lacey: You’re one of the favorites to win the 2017 All Female Invitational, how has that been going for you?
Stacy Sterling: It’s been great. In the first two rounds I’ve wrestled two opponents who pushed me to my limits, and I expect nothing less from Jess Nitoh. She’s a former champion, and a very decorated wrestler, not to mention she seems like an amazing person, it’s a dream match for me.
Hannah Lacey: Well switching back to Redemption, what made you sign here out of all of the potential landing spots?
Stacy Sterling: Well when I’m flying, you guys have the easiest rooftops to land on.
Stacy laughs at her cheesy joke. Her smile is contagious, as everyone around her backstage began smiling as well.
Stacy Sterling: To be completely honest, Adrien being here was a big thing for me. We live together, we train together, we travel together, so it was a perfect match to work together. He’s my partner in and out of the ring, so that was a big selling point, but then when you look at the roster and the potential opponents, it just seemed like a place where I could reach my true potential, and be pushed in ways that I haven’t been pushed before.
Hannah Lacey: Okay, going to put a little bit of pressure on you here, who are some of the people you would like to wrestle in Redemption?
Stacy Sterling: Matt Shields, I mean who wouldn’t want to wrestle him? He was champion for over half a year. Coda, Honey, Alechs, Trixie, LAVA, Jeremy Starling...the list goes on and on. Did I mention John Blade?
Hannah Lacey: Well I just received word that your debut opponent will be Team B.A.D herself, Alicia Hixx. Your thoughts on her, and your debut that will take place on July 16th in Charlotte?
Stacy Sterling: Alicia Hixx is someone who has longevity in Redemption wrestling, that’s the first thing I think about when I hear her name. For that reason alone, I know she is someone I have to take seriously. Fortunately I have quite a few matches of hers that I can study on, pick up on things she tries every match, see how she switches strategy depending on her opponents. She isn’t someone to sleep on.
Hannah Lacey: So despite being the franchise name of KCW, you don’t feel like you are owed anything upon entering Redemption? Do you think Alicia Hixx is an appropriate first opponent?
Stacy Sterling: I believe in working my way up the ranks just like everyone else. I’m just happy that I was offered a contract. Wrestling is something that I love, and to be able to do it in front of an amazing fanbase, in different cities, even different countries throughout the world, with the man I love by my side...I couldn’t be happier. As for Alicia Hixx, I feel like she’s a perfect first opponent. She has all of this bling on her hands on her way to the ring, she looks super cool, but I know she calls herself Team B.A.D for a reason. Well Alicia, if you are Team B.A.D, I represent Team G.O.O. D and good always prospers over bad! A true hero never backs down from a villain, and in Charlotte, my main objective is to stop Alicia Hixx.
Hannah Lacey: There you guys have it...an exclusive with one of the newest members of the Redemption roster, Miss Stacy Sterling. That was an incredible debut tonight, and I think I speak for most of the fans here when I say welcome to Redemption, we can’t wait to see what you do next!
Stacy Sterling: Thanks Hannah Banana! July 16th can’t come soon enough!
Stacy turns away from Hannah as the camera focuses on the interviewer.
Hannah Lacey: Where did she go?
In superhero fashion, Stacy appeared to disappear in the blink of an eye, but will her in-ring debut be as memorable as her saving the day on Glory? Only time will tell. For now, Redemption has a new resident superhero, and her name is Stacy Sterling!
