The camera switches to an area backstage at the Verizon Center where, stood in front of a Redemption Wrestling backdrop, having changed into her ring attire, is Lowri Moss.
Lowri: What’s occurring, Redemption Wrestling? I’m glad to be back with you, here in Washington DC, for the second round of the All Female Invitational.
Lowri smiles at the camera.
Lowri: When the complete draw for the tournament was released at the start of last month, after looking to see who my opponent would be in the opening round, something else immediately caught my eye, which was that if I was to win my first round match, then LAVA could potentially be my opponent in the next round. Now, like I told Mia Bala two weeks ago, I didn’t want to look too far beyond my match in the first round, but I was intrigued by the prospect of a match against LAVA, and it was something that I gave some thought to; I hoped that we would both win our respective matches two weeks ago, to set up a meeting in the second round, and now sure enough, here we are.
Lowri takes a breath, before continuing.
Lowri: Of all the participants in this tournament, LAVA has been one of the most vocal - judging by what I’ve seen and heard, that is. Recently, she claimed that none of us want this, or need this the way that she does.
There is a slight sigh from Lowri.
Lowri: I’m not going to stand here and debate the accuracy of that statement, but I think I can safely say that the thirty-two women left in the tournament - me, LAVA, and everyone else - all want to win it. As I found out last weekend though, no matter how much you want something, and no matter how much you need it, that isn’t always enough to get it; LAVA may well be about to discover that herself this evening.
Lowri runs a hand through her hair.
Lowri: There’s something else as well that LAVA wants that I also want: a match against Gaia Galanos.
She glances down at the floor for a moment. She then looks back up at the camera, and continues.
Lowri: Even before a single first round match had been announced, I saw tweets from Gaia and from LAVA, discussing a potential match between the two of them. Since then - and in particular, since the draw was released - talk of them meeting in the tournament seems to have gone from it being a possibility, to it being almost inevitable. However, I have other ideas.
A wry smile crosses Lowri’s face.
Lowri: Back in January, Gaia and I main evented a show in the UK, in what was only the third singles match of my career, and at the time, the biggest test of my fledgling career. Despite my best efforts, I didn’t quite manage to get the win that night, but now, with more experience under my belt, I believe that second time round, the outcome could be different. What I need though is a chance to wrestle Gaia a second time - a chance at, dare I say it, redemption.
Lowri turns to look behind her, at the Redemption Wrestling backdrop.
Lowri: And where better for that to happen, than in a promotion that has “Redemption” in its name?
She then looks back to the camera, and winks.
Lowri: Before that can possibly happen though, I of course need to overcome LAVA, which will be no easy task. I’m well aware of LAVA’s background in mixed martial arts, and the success that she had in MMA, but I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that I’m the more well-rounded wrestler, and I believe that may well give me the edge in this match.
Lowri takes a step towards the camera.
Lowri: A few days ago, LAVA tweeted that this weekend it would be time to smash. Well, I’m sure that her fists pack a punch, but trust me, she won’t enjoy being on the receiving end of one of my kicks - just ask Polly Pocket. I guess it’s time for LAVA to learn all about my brand of British strong style; trên, ymladd, ennill - train, fight, win.
Lowri looks confidently at the camera, before it then cuts away.
