Ruby Rose's... Apartment?

We are in what looks like Ruby's place of residence. I say this because there's a bed in the room that we're in. She is sitting at the foot of the bed with her cell phone plastered to her ear while she nods along with whoever she's talking to. However, this doesn't look like the apartment we saw Ruby in the last time we were invited into her home. For starters, the bedroom looks a bit bigger. It looks like a good sized bedroom, in fact. Before you jump to any conclusions, it's decorated with her pictures pinned to the mirror over her vanity. So this room definitely belongs to Ruby Rose.
"Yeah, I'm finally settled in. We moved in the past two days and I've finally got things settled. Sorry I didn't call sooner."
She moves back further on the bed and lays on her back, staring up at the ceiling while listening to the caller on the phone.
"It's really nice. And I promise you he's a great guy. Mom, no. No, mom."
Ruby sighs and shakes her head.
"He's not my boyfriend, mom. I don't care what Pearl told you at the grocery store. We're just friends."
An exasperated sigh followers to let us know that Ruby's mom isn't letting up on this one.
"And how exactly would Pearl know? And why is her information somehow more factual than the information coming straight from my mouth?"
She groans and brings her free hand up to her face.
"I'm not lying to you. Jonathan Drake is just a friend. He's one of my best friends. I trust him completely, but he is not my boyfriend."
Pulling her hand from her face, she takes a deep breath that seems to finally calm her down. I guess her mother has finally relented on the subject some.
"Yeah, my match is this Saturday and I'm really nervous about it. There's going to be-"
She is cut off mid-sentence, obviously interrupted by her mother on the other end. Her eyes fall closed in a silent groan and she shakes her head.
"No. I am not dating Anthony either."
Ruby continues to shake her head in utter disbelief, her eyes open and show the state of amazement that she is in.
"Anthony is Tornado, mom. And we are not dating. He's a very good friend. Something I can use in West Coast Genesis. Just like Austen and Danni and Donovan have become."
The next reaction on Ruby's face looks like disappointment.
"Really? That's the next thing you say, mom? Nothing about how I just named off three friends that are in my first-ever title match? No concern? No wondering if it's a good idea to be friends with them right now? Nothing?"
Ruby sits in silence for a moment. The reactions on her face have frozen. Disappointment remains, but it doesn't lessen or intensify any. This all suggests that maybe nothing is being said on the other end either.
"Are you waiting to bring up Scotty Latimer, next?"
She would laugh if she weren't so sure that the answer to that question is yes. I think it is, judging by the way Ruby almost growls as she swings her legs over the bed and sits up.
"Yes, I trained with Mason Moore. It was a huge deal, mom. I know you don't exactly follow, but Redemption is the next step. He's already there and getting any advice from him is a good thing. You don't even know who he is and you're already judging the situation, assuming things. What do you and your friends sit around and discuss about me? Clearly, not my title match that's coming up!"
Ruby stands. With a sigh, she walks over to her vanity and watches herself in the mirror as her mother talks.
"Yeah. Yeah, I get it. Wrestling's not your thing. It never was. And I'm sorry that it's my thing, but it is my thing. For two and a half years it's been my only thing and it's obviously not going away. I just wish you could make the effort, mom. It would have been really nice to talk about my first-ever title match for more than five seconds."
Listening to her mother for a moment, Ruby frowns. Her eyes fall from her own reflection to the table in front of her. She idly plays with a makeup brush, moving it around lazily.
"Yeah. I'm sorry, too."
She twirls the makeup brush a couple times before her eyes close against whatever is said.
"I still love you too, mom. Bye."
The phone remains next to her ear a few moments after her goodbye, but eventually she pulls the phone away and sets it carefully on the table. She finally looks back up at herself in the mirror, her frown still present. Taking a deep breath, she walks away from her own reflection and out the door.
Fade.
