Mason Moore's Residence, Las Vegas, Nevada
Mason sat down on his couch after a relaxing dip in his pool. He had mainly sat back and floated a bit, letting the cooling water run over his sore muscles as he tanned slightly. Now though, He grabbed his phone, scrolled through a few contacts and found who he was looking for, Dr. Halliwell. He felt much less nervous this time as he started off with a simple message
Hello Mason.
I'm good. How about you?
I am glad for that.
Of course. Would you like me to setup a skype call?
***Incoming Call***
Mason took a deep breath and answered the skype call. He smiled wide as he saw the face of Dr. Halliwell, and flexed slightly as he had forgot to put a shirt on.
"Hey doc, good to see you."
She smirks, not really expecting less from the self professed 'Sex addict'
"I will assume your lack of clothing stops at the waist, yes?"
"Yea. I took a quick relax session in the pool and didn't even think about it. I can go grab a shirt if it's not cool."
"I am fine, as long as you aren't completely nude."
"No no, I've got shorts on. My neighbor was out so I couldn't do my usual nude swim."
"I am not surprised that you swim nude."
"I do most things nude if possible. It's just more comfortable for me. Plus I mean"
Mason smirked a bit as he raised his arms and flexed, showing off his physique a bit. She shakes her head lightly.
"Well enough showing off. How has your week been?"
"Pretty good. I was able to get back in the gym and to a somewhat regular schedule. Didn't wrestle this weekend, but definitely made my presence known. Had a nice night last night with a new friend, so it went well."
"Did this nice night include sex?"
"It did not actually."
"Good. I am happy you showed restraint."
"Well... not really. It wasn't really a date exactly. I don't think it was at least. Even if it would have been though, it could only be considered a first or maybe second, and she's not the type to jump in after a few times."
"Do you like her enough to potentially date her."
"I like her, and we have some stuff in common. She's one of the only people I know would understand my dedication in the gym. Dating is just... I suck at it."
"Well that's why we're here right?"
She uncrosses and recrosses her legs and pulls out a pad of paper. Mason is silent for a few seconds as his eyes move down to her legs as she moves.
"Uhm... uh yea yea."
"So tell me how it was your parents met?"
"They met at the strip club my mom worked in. Dad played football for UNLV and his first game starting he got three sacks and forced a fumble that lead to them winning the game. His teammates took him out to celebrate and he saw her. She was going to school there as well, but they didn't have any of the same classes or anything like that I guess."
"And how long after they met did they start dating?"
"I think it was maybe two days. Dad said he pretty much fell for her that night. He said he would have spent all the money he had for the next three months just getting private dances so he could talk to her more, but she stopped him and asked if he wanted to take her out on her next night off."
"And they have been in a monogamous relationship since?"
"Kind of. They did a little bit of swinging before. I didn't realize it when I was a kid, but now I know what was going on."
"So your parents are very open about sexuality and don't have what some call, 'christian' values of it being just the same two people for life."
"Very open and they didn't get to hung up on the one person thing. They always said the other had to approve, but as far as sex went, it wasn't a big deal for them to bring in someone else. I remember 'aunt Lacey' came over almost every weekend for close to a year."
"So are you maybe looking for a relationship like theirs?"
"That would probably work best. I don't want to do the dating thing and end up ruining it because I just can't get enough of fucking."
"So then maybe when you subconsciously realize that the person you are dating wants to be monogamous you self sabbotage to get out before it gets too serious."
"The few times that I have actually attempted the dating thing, I've definitely done that. It also doesn't help that I do spend a lot of my time in the gym."
"Maybe in this case, it would be better to find someone with similar interests. I.e. someone that also enjoys the gym or someone else with the same confidence in their appearance as you. Some people need someone the total opposite bit I suspect that might not be the case with you."
She scribbles something down on her paper before looking back up at him.
"Not a lot of people out there that enjoy the gym as much as I do, and my only other real interests are wrestling, sex, and... well damn, I guess it's just those three things."
"I admit it is a small market but if you found someone who fit those needs, then it only makes it worth it and more meaningful."
"I'm sure I can find someone who shares my interest, or someone who would be cool with a kind of open relationship type thing, but finding someone that shares my interest AND is fine with the open stuff, I just don't know if that's possible."
"You might be surprised. I actually know someone that runs a fetish dating site. It caters to people that are looking for a special kind of relationship. You should at least give it a look."
"I've never done the whole online thing. That always felt like a deal for people to lame or ugly to meet someone in real life."
"Honestly though, have you had much luck doing it your way though?"
She leans forward a little. Mason thinks for a bit, but is distracted again as she leans forward.
"Uhm..."
Mason takes another deep breath and finally looks up from her chest.
"I've had plenty of luck meeting someone, having sex and then never talking to them again or getting a call a few days later looking for more sex. No luck in finding someone who I thought I could have a real relationship with though."
"That's what I am getting at. There are other people like you on that site. Give it a try at least. I will text you the info."
"People like me? Gym freaks or sex addicts? Hell, am I even a sex addict? I mean, I didn't really push it last night with the woman I was hanging out with. A sex addict would have, right?"
"No. Not necessarily. You have morals. There are alcoholics that won't drink in front of their kids too. I mean people who don't quite fit into that mold that society deems normal."
"So I'm at least a somewhat decent person? Is that a professional assessment, doc?"
Mason smiled and gave her a quick wink.
"Your sexual preferences do not make you a 'good' person. That is something only you can determine for yourself. If you think you are a good person, then the opinions of others don't really have much substance. I was merely making a slight mocking of the prejudices of our world."
"I've got some people who definitely don't see me as a good person, and it sucks because they're around this woman who's a friend, I thought maybe more. Last week though, it was obvious they didn't want me around, and especially not around her. Guess I was kind of looking for that professional opinion that I'm good enough."
Mason looks down for a few seconds, showing some of the insecurities that he typically hides very well.
"You are good enough Mason. No one has the right to tell you otherwise. There are a lot of people out there that do not know how to deal with their own insecurities and instead point out the differences in others in order to make others not notice the things they consider imperfections about themselves."
"I know I'm kind of arrogant and can be an asshole at times, but when you try and they don't give you a chance... It just pissed me off. I only really went there for her anyway and it... well let's just say that it didn't go well."
"It is sometimes hard to deal with rejection. Deep down I think you just want people to accept you at face value without labeling you."
"That would be really nice. It seems I'm mostly met with people thinking I'm stupid, or thinking I'm on some kind of performance enhancers. Then there's the ones who find me intimidating. Can I ask what your opinion is Doc?"
"My opinion of you?"
"Yea"
"I have been trained not to form an opinion of people until after I have talked to them. To me, you seem just like everyone else. Everyone has quirks that make them unique and in my opinion, I don't think you are addicted to sex."
"No, so what's wrong with me?"
"Nothing. Other than not having confidence in yourself from a dating perspective. You want a partner to accept you. And the rejection has only pushed you farther away from the same confidence you have as an athlete."
"So screwing up all my romantic relationships, has lead to me not being able to maintain them because I'm worried about screwing it up?"
"It seems like a circle that you can't get out of doesn’t it?"
"Yea. How the hell do I fix that?"
"Therapy."
She chuckles.
"Seriously though, stepping outside this shelter you have put yourself in is going to do more than you think. Take a look at the website. You can search without signing up but if you want to message someone you need to create an account. At the worst, it is not comfortable for you and we find something else."
She looks down at her phone and types. Mason's phone then dings with a text message. Mason looks down at his phone and nods his head.
"Thanks doc. Maybe this will work. Talking about stuff is definitely good. Can't exactly show any insecurities or vulnerability in my line of work, and especially not with the kind of aura I have around me."
"That is my specialty. Wrestling is not the only sport where the participants do not want to show any weakness. Especially football."
She offers a smirk
"I get that. Dad never showed any kind of weakness."
Mason sighed slightly and shook his head a bit, then looked back at Dr. Halliwell.
"So probably not a sex addict, but still messed up. Is that the official diagnosis?"
"Messed up sounds too negative. You are human. And you need help to get over a few road blocks. That's all."
"It's not easy admitting to needing help."
"But that is the first step."
"Yea. I appreciate it a lot Doc. Definitely easy to talk to you. Might have gotten distracted a few times though."
Mason smirks at her as he gives a quick wink. She shakes her head.
"I am not even trying to entice you in any way Mason. I am professional."
"I know you're not Doc. Just hard to ignore certain things."
Mason lowered his eyes down to her legs for a few quick seconds, then back up.
"Alright. I think this might be a good place to stop. Feel free to reach out though at any time if you have a question."
"Sorry Doc, I didn't mean to make it awkward. Thank you again for helping me figure all this stuff out."
"It's all good Mason. And its not. I can just tell you are starting to get distracted."
"Yes... Have a good day Doc. Thanks again."
"Same time next week?"
"That sounds perfect."
"Great. Let me know how it goes. Have a good night Mason."
Mason gave her a smile and a quick nod of his head, and then the phone call was over.
"Fuck, I wonder if she knows how hot she is?"
Mason takes a breath and shakes his head.
"No no, get that out of your head. She's a therapist, that's what you're paying for her and it's helping."
Mason nods to himself as he looks down at his phone, seeing the link that she gave him. He shrugs his shoulders as he picks up the phone and opens the link.
