Following the signature at the start of the show, the camera cuts backstage to find newcomer Jack Santore walking into the arena. He wears jeans, a plain white t-shirt, sunglasses and a New York Yankees baseball cap. And of course, he has on some brand new Air Jordan 11s on. As he enters the arena he’s approached by West Coast Genesis resident interviewer Mia Bala. Jack seems somewhat taken aback when she approaches him, stopping dead in his tracks when she calls out to him.

Mia: Jack! Hey! Can I get a word with ya?

Jack: With me?

Jack even points a finger at his own chest in complete surprise.

Mia: Yes, you.

Jack nods, accepting of the fact that yes, people want to talk to him.

Mia: So how are things going in WCG?

Jack: Honey?

Mia: Yes?

Jack laughs, shaking his head.

Jack: No, I’m kidding. Things are going well, though. They’re going as best as they possibly can be for a dude that’s only about to enter his second match. I sort of still have that bitter taste of losing in my mouth right now, so I’m looking to get rid of that tonight.

Mia nods along with Jack’s words. It’s a wonder if interviewers are actually listening or just waiting to speak next.

Mia: We all saw how you came up just short of being able to beat Ruby Lance.

Mia furrows her brow as she pauses. Something seems to be confusing her.

Mia: But it is a little odd how you two seem to be so friendly.

Jack raises an eyebrow, scoffing at the notion.

Jack: I mean, I don’t hate anyone here right now. I have no reason to. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve come to win. Not just win tonight but win championships. But that doesn’t mean that I’m going to have hatred for a cool person like Ruby because she happened to beat me last week. Hell, I hardly have anything bad to say about the two women I’ll step into the ring with tonight.

Mia: Nothing? No trash talk whatsoever?

Jack shakes his head in response.

Jack: No. Tasmin might come off a little arrogant to me, but I don’t know the girl at all. Izzy seems like a good kid too. I have nothing bad to say about her at all. But, trust me…I don’t expect that to last.

Mia: You don’t expect the peace to last?

Jack shakes his head again.

Jack: Nope. It’s wrestling and it’s the nature of the business. I’m sure at some point I’ll rub someone the wrong way and then we’ll be slinging words at one another. It’s bound to happen. But until then I’m going to keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Mia: Which is?

Jack: Being prepared and coming in with the plans to win every single match that I’m involved in. Hell, you wanna talk about Ruby?

Jack shrugs his shoulders a bit.

Jack: Take her as a complete inspiration. Fourth match and she’s getting a title shot. If that’s not something inspiring, then I don’t know what is. If I can have some success like that, I’ll be well on my way to being great. Not good, but great.

Mia: Jack, thank you for your time.

Jack: Thank you, sweet heart.

Jack politely nods at Mia as he continues walking toward the locker room area as we move into the arena for the first match.

Opening Match

Jack Santore vs Izzy Rocks vs Tasmin Richards

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is our opening triple threat match, introducing first, from Norwich, England, weighing in at one hundred twenty pounds, TASMIN RICHARDS!!

"Sex Metal Barbie" hits as Tasmin comes skipping out in a leather biker jacket, a black top and black jeans. She makes her way down to the ring high fiving fans before running and sliding under the bottom rope popping up to her knees.

Phoenix: Well, we have the debut of the younger sister of Redemption Wrestling’s own Kayla Richards as she enters the ring, ready for her first match in West Coast Genesis.

The lively riff to Paramore's 'Renegade' plays as Izzy Roxx comes out, followed by her tubby manager, cameraman and best friend Seth Walton. She can be heard calling out 'Welcome to the Izzyverse, baby!' as she points a finger towards the arena ceiling, then proceeds to make her way down the ramp, slapping every hand in sight. After entering the ring, she continues to mug to the crowd, and generally try too hard to appear cool.

Mackenzie: Next, from Across the Izzyverse, weighing in at one hundred five pounds, IZZY ROXX!!

Phoenix: I referred to her last show as the punk rock cheerleader but the impressive youngster is out, ready to try to get victory number two in her very young career.

The beat to DMX' "The Rain" blares through the arena as "Slingin" Jack Santore appears on the stage, shadow boxing and bobbing his head to the beat.Jack walks to the beat with a purpose, fist-bumping the fans along the aisle. Jack walks up the steps and into the ring, he holds his right fist in the air to an explosion of cheers. He nods his head in approval of the ovation and continues shadow-boxing until the music fades.

Mackenzie: And finally, from Queens, New York, weighing in at two hundred twenty-five pounds, SLINGIN’ JACK SANTORE!!

Phoenix: And here comes to man who is looking to rebound from his loss against Ruby Rose on the previous Hype. He enters the ring now looking at the two young women who stand between him and his bounce back win.

DING DING DING

Phoenix: And the bell sounds to signal the start of the match.

Tasmin Richards is looking back at Jack then Izzy. Izzy tries to keep both of her opponents in her line of sight as well. Jack decides to be the first one to stop sitting around waiting as he quickly knocks down Tasmin Richards with a lariat, but the move gives Izzy Roxx an opening to dropkick Santore. Richards is back up and sees Izzy on her feet before lifting Roxx onto her shoulders and charging into the corner. Tasmin throws a few wild strikes and kicks until she finds herself being rolled up by Santore.

Izzy Roxx breaks up the pinfall.

Phoenix: Almost a rookie mistake by the younger Richards almost cost her the match to Jack Santore. Izzy Roxx makes sure it doesn’t end the match quite yet.

Jack finds himself being whips into the ropes by both female competitors and being dropped with a double clothesline. Tasmin Richards is then dropped to the mat herself with a quick DDT from Izzy, who was savvy enough to remember the match was a triple threat match. Izzy tries to get the cover, but she is dragged by her feet by Jack away from Richards. She gets back up, swinging a lariat in his direction, but he dodges and launches her with a belly to belly suplex. Before he can enjoy his handiwork of launching the teen out of the ring, Tasmin Richards lands a snap hurricanrana on the veteran of the match. She gets on the top rope, allowing the fans to get a bit excited about the probability of a high flying high risk move.

Phoenix: We have Tasmin Richards on the top rope, ready to fly with some sort of aerial move. She jumps! Frog splash!! And she stays in position for a pinfall!

THR-NO!

Izzy Roxx is able to get back in the ring in time to break up the pinfall once more. Izzy rolls a fatigued Tasmin Richards out of the way and tries pinning Jack himself.

THR-NO!!

Tasmin drags Izzy off Jack. Izzy throws a wild kick at Richards, but Richards avoids it before dropping an elbow into the interior of Roxx’s knee. Richards whips Izzy into the ropes but IZZY RESPONDS WITH THE ACROSS THE IZZYVERSE! The fans go nuts.

Phoenix: Izzy Roxx was able to bounce off the middle rope and hit her diving crossbody onto Tasmin Richards. The fans are loving this young superstar as she gets what could be the winning pin right here!

ONE!!

TWO!!

THRE-NO!!

Jack Santore breaks up this pin. Izzy starts throwing rights and lefts back at Jack, frustrated her move didn’t get the win for her. Jack finds himself being whipped into the ropes but he drills Izzy to the mat with a swinging neckbreaker on the rebound. Izzy refuses to give up as she takes Santore down once more with a headscissors takedown, which leads to Tasmin Richards finally getting up, remembering who took her down moments ago.

Phoenix: Uh oh, Tasmin is back up and not happy about being hit by Izzy’s signature move moments ago.

Izzy Roxx turns around and finds herself laying on the mat at the hands of Tasmin Richards and her finishing Tazzie Devil move. Roxx is completely motionless at the edge of the ring. Richards looks like she’s about to pull her to the center to try to get the pinfall on Izzy Roxx but Jack Santore has other plans as he drives her to the mat with a bulldog. Roxx rolls out of the ring as Jack pulls Tasmin up, puts her in a headlock under his arm and nails his finishing move, the Queen’s Boulevard on Tasmin Richards. With Roxx still down from Tasmin’s finisher, Jack gets the cover.

Izzy is starting to get back in the ring.

THREE!!

Izzy breaks up the pin a second too late.

DING DING DING

Mackenzie: Here is your winner, JACK SANTORE!!

Izzy Roxx buries her face in her hands, knowing she was too late as Jack’s arm is raised in the air to the sounds of “The Rain” as we cut to the backstage area.

The feed cuts to the backstage area just behind Gorilla position where Mia Bala is standing with a microphone. Just behind and off to the side of her, CJ Lorson is pacing from side to side, a stern look of concentration on his face as he stretches his arms and rolls his neck a few times.

Mia: “CJ, you’re just moments away from making your debut here in West Coast Genesis against Tornado Desencadenado and Keiji Sugiwara. What’s going through your mind right now as you prepare to head to the ring?”

CJ exhales sharply, puffing out his cheeks as he shakes his head, his eyebrows raised slightly. He takes a couple moments before answering the question.

CJ: “‘Don’t screw it up.’ This is a huge opportunity for me…growing up, my dad gave me one important piece of advice. He said, ‘whatever you do in your life, be sure you knock it out of the park every single time.’ And that’s what I intend to do here tonight.”

Mia nods.

Mia: ““So, you’re intent on winning the match here tonight?”

CJ shrugs his shoulders and tilts his head from side to side.

CJ: “Well, sure, winning would be great. But more importantly than that, I’m here for them…”

He points out toward the arena, obviously referring to the crowd in attendance.

CJ: “Win, lose, or draw, my goal tonight is to make sure those people go home happy and make sure they get their money’s worth. I’ve got my family hundreds of miles away, obviously my dad is no longer with us…”

CJ’s voice breaks a bit and trails off in that last statement. He looks down toward the floor, away from the camera and rubs at his chin with his thumb and index finger. He rolls his neck one more time and turns back to Mia, a sympathetic look on her face for CJ’s loss.

CJ: “…but regardless, tonight is for them. Tonight, I’m going out there to make them proud. And the reaction from the people watching in the stands will reflect that. If I win the match, great, if I lose, then I move forward and knock it out of the park in the next one. Winning and losing is all part of this business; you win some, you lose some, as they say.”

Mia nods again.

Mia: “What are your thoughts on your opponents in this match here tonight?”

CJ gives a sideways nod, his eyes widening a bit at the thought of his opponents.

CJ: “Hell, both of those guys are amazing athletes. Tornado and Keiji have both accomplished quite a bit so far, and I’m sure they’re bound for even bigger things in the future. I have no doubt I’m headed for a war here tonight with those two. I’ve seen what they can do in that ring, and it’s nothing short of amazing. But, uh…I’m ready. I’m ready to go…and like I said, I’ll be sure to knock it out of the park.”

Mia nods and holds an arm out to her side, a bit of a shrug and a tilt of the head.

Mia: “Well, best of luck out there in your debut, CJ.”

CJ nods his head and says, “thanks,” the words barely audible away from the microphone as he turns on his heels and heads to the curtain just behind Gorilla position. He hops on his toes a bit and stretches his arms as he awaits his cue to step through the curtain before the feed cuts away.

Scene shifts to the catering area, where Danni LeBlanc is standing beside a container filled with ice and bottles of water. She reaches in, pulls out one of the bottles, but as she goes to twist the cap, she feels a vibration in her pocket as her cell phone goes off. She reaches for her phone, taking a moment to look at the screen.

Danni: Huh... this is unexpected... Hello?

She answers the phone, staring intently as she listens to the voice on the other end. The camera’s microphone can only pick up on the muffled sound of a female voice.

Danni: Yeah, I appreciate it. Seems the only people that would otherwise be encouraging me outside of my own family are all in the match.

There’s another pause as the female voice continues to speak to Danni. From the mild smile on her face, it would seem that the voice is offering words of encouragement.

Danni: Thanks, I appreciate it. My Mom says she’s got a huge frame hanging on the wall... people keep asking what she’s going to put in there, and she tells them it’s for when her daughter brings home a championship!

More silence on Danni’s end as the voice goes on.

Danni: Yeah... I hope so, too. Can’t have my mom staring at an empty frame, right?

More chattering over the phone as Danni listens and smiles.

Danni: Yeah, it is kinda awkward having him in this match as well, but that’s the way things go in this business. He knows not to expect me to go easy on him, and I expect the same out of him. Same goes for everyone in this match. For the most part, I’ll be happy for whoever wins, especially if it’s Donovan. Of course, I’ll be even happier if I’m the one that walks out of here with the title.

The muffled voice speaks again, then clear laughter can be heard through the phone.

Danni: Yeah, well, we’ll see how things pan out. I’ll be in touch with you one way or another. Oh, and thanks for the encouragement. Bye.

Danni ends the call, stuffing her phone back into her pocket. Cracking open her water bottle, she finally takes a long drink before walking out of frame. With that, the scene cuts away.

Match 2

Triple Threat Match

Keiji Sugiwara vs C.J. Lorson vs Tornado Desencadenado

Mackenzie Murphy: The following contest is a triple threat match! Coming out first, hailing from Tacoma, Washington, and weighing 220 pounds: CJ Lorson!

The snare drum beat to “Worker’s Song” by Dropkick Murphy’s tears through the air in the arena quickly followed by the electric guitar riff. C.J. Lorson bursts through the curtain and hops on the balls of his feet waving his hands motioning for the crowd to get loud. The fans respond in kind as C.J. makes his way down the aisle at a very quick pace. He rolls into the ring and shoots up to the middle rope, raising his hands in the air to a louder response from the crowd. He hops down from the turnbuckle and warms up in his corner as the music fades out.

Murphy: Next, from Metairie, Louisiana, and weighing 235 pounds, Tornado Desencadenado!

The guitar riff to Breaking Benjamin’s “Blow Me Away” cues up on the venue’s speakers. Tornado walks out from behind the curtain and does several “chain-breaker” warm ups. Afterwards he bounds back and forth across the stage; encouraging the fans to cheer louder. Tornado then jogs down the ramp, slapping any offered hands. When he reaches the ring apron he rolls inside, pops to his feet, and does a couple of spins around the center of the ring with his arms outstretched. Finally, he takes his right fist and thumps the left side of his chest three times.

Murphy: And finally, coming all the way from Osaka, Japan, billed at 208 pounds, “The Last Emperor” Keiji Sugiwara!

“Hellyeah” by Hellyeah plays, Keiji walks out. Keiji walks down the ramp, gets in the ring, and the music stops. All three men cautiously eye one another as referee Corey Carter speaks to them.

Hayden Phoenix: This should be an interesting match. CJ Lorson is making his WCG debut tonight, and no doubt wants to make a good first impression. Meanwhile, Tornado is in need of a win, having come up short in his two previous attempts. And Keiji Sugiwara, after a promising start here at West Coast Genesis, has backslid considerably. Despite all three’s seeming desperation and the loose rules in a triple threat, I expect and good, clean match to come from them.

Indeed, the trio starts off congenial; exchanging handshakes among themselves. Once Carter motions for the bell, clasped hands quickly turn to swinging fists. Lorson and Sugiwara concentrate their offense on the bigger Tornado, forcing him back. They then grab both his arms and fling him towards the ropes. When The Ring Revolutionary stumbles back, they execute a tandem hip toss. Lorson sits TD up and applies a chin lock, while Sugiwara runs the ropes and tries for a clothesline on his momentary ally. CJ sees him coming and lifts Tornado, using him as a shield from the attack. The WCG newcomer transitions that into a belly to back suplex, before hooking Tornado’s leg for a quick cover. One! A double ax handle from Sugiwara breaks the pin. Herking Lorson up, Keiji knees him repeatedly in the gut. Lorson breaks free but takes a thrusting side kick to the chest, which staggers him. Before Sugiwara can follow up this attack Tornado rises, clubs him hard in the back of the head with his forearm, and hits a sidewinder suplex! Cover. One! Lorson grabs TD’s leg and pulls him off Keiji.

Phoenix: So far no man has been able to take control of the match; as all three look for an opening to score that uninterrupted pin.

TD clambers to his feet and lunges at Lorson, who ducks. When Tornado caroms back CJ tries for another hip toss, only to have it blocked. By now Sugiwara has risen and he rushes both men. He hits a flying double knee to Lorson, knocking him onto his hands and knees sending Tornado stumbling to the ropes. Using the downed Lorson as a launch pad, he hits Tornado with a missile dropkick. TD flips over the top rope to the outside, leaving Sugiwara alone to try a La Magistral cradle on CJ.

One!

Two!

Lorson kicks out. Keiji pulls him up, but Lorson breaks free and levels his foe with a wicked European uppercut. He hits a second, and then a third, forcing Keiji into a corner. He then tries for a bulldog, but Tornado grabs Sugiwara’s legs from the outside. The unforeseen hindrance causes Lorson and Keiji to both crash awkwardly. TD tries to take advantage by climbing up the ring post from the outside and going for a moonsault onto Lorson, but CJ has him scouted and rolls out of the way. Bounding to his feet Lorson grab’s the supine Tornado’s legs and twists them into an inverted cloverleaf. TD writhes in pain, but does not tap.

Phoenix: CJ Lorson is looking to end this match with the Sailor’s Kno-No!

Before CJ can fully complete the hold Keiji rises and takes Lorson out with a Pele Kick. He then looks at both of his downed opponents, then to the corner, then to the crowd. With the fans’ approval he climbs to the top rope and waits. When Lorson and Tornado woozily stand, he connect with a Senton Atomico. Quickly he tries to pin Tornado. One! Two! Tornado kicks out. The Last Emperor scrambles to cover Lorson. One! Two! Lorson gets an arm up. Keiji sits up and shakes his head in consternation. He yanks up Lorson, putting him into an inverted facelock, then lifts him up for an Osaka Street Cutter. Tornado is there at the point of impact, though. He grabs CJ and executes a rolling German suplex with a bridge pin.

One!

Two!

Thr- a charging Sugiwara steamrolls into both men, breaking up the pin.

Phoenix: What a sequence of moves by Tornado and Keiji! That inverted cutter into a German suplex has left CJ Lorson seemingly lifeless. He’d be easy pickings for either remaining man, if the other allowed it!

Tornado and Sugiwara are on their feet, exchanging punches. Tornado eventually gets the advantage, stunning Sugiwara. He flings him to the ropes and hits a spin out powerbomb on Keiji when he comes back. TD tries a sit out pin attempt.

One!

Two!

Keiji kicks out. After an imploring stare to referee Corey Carter, TD lifts Fujiwara into the fireman’s carry position. He executes an airplane spin for several rotations- that’s halted by a super kick from CJ Lorson!

TD sways, dazed from the boot to the face. He recovers though, and military presses Keiji onto Larson. He then falls back into the ropes, rebounds, and hits Keiji with the Cyclone Smash (Running Corkscrew Forearm Smash)! Exhausted, TD rolls over and makes the cover.

One!

Two!

Three!

Lorson's attempt to break up the pin comes too late, and Carter calls for the bell.

Mackenzie: Here is your winner, Tornado Desencadenado!

Phoenix: What an impressive display of power by the Fundamental Elemental! Really, every man impressed me tonight. But only one man could win the match, and in the end, that was Tornado Desencadenado.

TD’s music plays and his arm is raised by the referee. Slowly, both Keiji and Lorson come up to Tornado and offer congratulations before leaving the ring. As TD climbs the turnbuckles and celebrates with the cheering fans Hype! goes to commercial.

The scene cuts to the backstage area, where heels are heard walking down the hallway. The camera moves a bit, as it picks up the back of a long legged, blonde beauty. She was wearing a tight purple dress that showed off her curves. She stops at a door, as she knocks, waiting for the door to open. The camera moves, as it soon sees who the person was. It’s Melina Wilson. She had been seen a few times with Scotty Latimer, out and about. It was rumored she was on the waiting list for WCG. The door opens, as it is shown to be Scotty Latimer. She smiles as she sees him, as he looks surprised to see her.

Scotty: Mel, what are you doing here?

Melina laughs lightly.

Melina: I thought I would surprise you. Plus, I had to be here. I got the call, I’m debuting on the next show.

Scotty: That’s great.

He steps closer to her, as he draws her into a hug. She hugs him back, before they pull a part.

Melina: Yeah it is, I hadn’t told anyone else besides AJ, but thought you would want to know. I should let you get ready for your match though. AJ, and I will see you after the show.

Scotty: See you after the show.

They smile at each other, as they stare, before Melina turns, and starts to walk away. Scotty watches her for a few seconds before he heads back into his locker room as the scene cuts out for commercial.

Camera opens to Gabe walking into the arena. He is dressed in a suit with a bag slung over his shoulder. He carries a scowl on his face as he is bumped into by a stage hand.

Gabe: Hey, watch it. I’m sorry, been focused a little to much lately.

Stage Hand: Its ok sir. My fault.

Gabe: No, no, it’s mine, I shouldn’t have made that outburst. You're just doing your job. Doing stage Handy things, what’s your name son.

Stage Hand: Its Kevin sir.

Gabe mutters the name a few times softly, "Kevin, Kevin, hmmm ok."

Gabe: You know what Kenny, today is your lucky day. Today you didn’t just bump into any normal wrestler. Today you bumped into the Technical mastermind Mr. Gabriel Griffin.

Kevin: But my name isn’t...

Gabe: Stay with me Kenny, I've been watching the WCG, that’s West Coast Genesis for those of us in the know, and I've seen some good things. Good mind you not Great Kenny.

Kevin: Ok, but my name...

Gabe: That’s why I took it upon myself to come to the WCG, personally and turn things around. Its sloppy ring work, bad foot work, uninspired technical savvy that has run rampant and I certainly can't take anymore and god only knows how many TV's are being turned off because of the awful presentation. You know Kenny, I like you. I see great things from you, if you follow my rules. The 5 Steps to Technical Serenity.

Gabe sets his bag down and pulls out a book slapping it against Kevin’s Chest.

Gabe: Consider it a gift Kenny. The first last gift you will ever need. I make my debut tonight and my plan is to showcase a Technical lesson that will be the benchmark of wrestling. You should watch and take notes Kenny. There may be a quiz later.

The thing is Kenny, WCG needs a hero to save it from itself, and it’s a cross I will carry and sacrifice what I need to to ensure this company is the best it can be.

Gabe picks up his bag and walks on towards the locker room.

Match 3

Zane Story vs Gabriel Griffin

Gabriel walks slowly out from the back as Pardon Me starts over the speakers. As he starts down the ramp Zane Story comes flying from the crowd over the rail and lands on his shoulders. He quickly uses his body weight and sends Griffin flying down the ramp.

Phoenix: Looks like Zane Just couldn’t wait.

Zane quickly follows up with a stiff kick to Griffins ribs. Griffin rolls down the ramp and Zane measures him. He runs up on the rail and springs off looking to a forearm smash, Griffin catches him in midair and slams him down onto the steel with a huge spine buster. Gabe gets up and shakes his head as Zane rolls onto his side dazed. Griffin pulls Zane up and lands a snap suplex onto the steel ramps. Zane grabs his back in pain as Griffin gets up and yells something at Zane.

Phoenix: Story had the upper hand but now that Griffin is rolling it might be hard to stop this man.

Zane starts to get to his feet but Griffin grabs him and yanks him up he scoops Zane going for a scoop slam but Zane floats behind him dropping into the splits and punching upwards like Johnny Cage in Mortal Combat. Griffin grabs his groin as his doubles over, Zane quickly flips over his back and hooks him landing a DDT onto the steel ramp. The ref yells at Zane from the ring to bring it in the ring to start the match but Zane motions that he can’t hear him and laughs.

Phoenix: Story is playin with Fire. Our boss might not like this.

Zane pulls Griffin up and slams him into the guard rail. He walks over and starts landing punches to Gabe’s face. Gabe falls down and Zane smirks as he hip thrust into his face laughing. He does a hand stand on the rail and swings his legs down into a dropkick. Gabe rolls to the side holding his chest as Zane smirks and get to his feet. He Pulls Gabe but gabe lands a right hand taking Zane by surprise. He lands a second and a third then kicks Zane in the guts quickly landing a spinning neckbreaker half on the mats half on the steel ramp. Gabe pushes himself up and takes a deep breath. He yells to the ref has the match started and he says no. Gabe looks at zane and his face flushes in rage. He kicks zane in the ribs rolling him closer to the ring. He kicks him again and zane rolls almost under the apron.

Phoenix: Gabe Griffin looks like he wants to take Zane’s head off.

Gabe kicks the steel steps and positions them as if he is setting Zane up for a suplex. He grabs Zane’s feet and starts to pull him out from under the ring apron. As Zane emerges he swings hard with a hockey stick smoking Gabe in the head with it. Gabe staggers and Ric Flair flops face first in the steel steps he set up. Zane gets up and holds his ribs as he looks at the stick he smiles. Griffins back is exposed and Zane quickly slaps the stick across his back drawing a deep red line as Gabe jerks and grabs his back. Zane follows him and slaps him a second time across the back drawing another dark red line. Zane smirks and tosses the stick into the crowd as he pulls Gabe up.

Phoenix: 2 minutes for slashing.

Zane hooks Gabe and attempts a suplex but Gabe blocks it. Zane attempts again and is blocked again. Griffin suddenly powers zane up and lands a high angle suplex into the steel steps. Zane lays motionless as gab holds his shoulder from the impact on the steps himself.

Phoenix: Zane story may be out cold and the match hasn’t even started yet.

Griffin pushes himself up and moves to story. He pulls him up and rolls him into the ring. As Griffin slides in the bell sounds.

Phoenix: That was close.

Griffin shakes his head and pulls Zane up. He whips Zane across the ring and lands a huge High knee to the face. Zane hits the mat and still looks to be out of it. Griffin doesn’t let up He pulls Zane back to his feet and whips him into the corner. He moves in quickly landing a few punches and then lifts Zane up to the top rope. He climbs to the top rope himself and hook zane for superplex. He pushes off landing a huge superplex and rolling through to cover Zane.

Phoenix: Oh my goodness.

Griffin can’t believe it as Zane starts to roll over. Griffin gets to his feet and drops a knee into Zane’s Spine. He stands and drops and elbow into Zane’s back as well. Zane screams in pain and Griffin motions that it’s over. He quickly grabs Zane’s legs and locks on the Texas Cloverleaf. Zane screams as Griffin sits back into the move yelling for him to tap. Zane screams in pain but power himself up and lunges grabbing the rope. The ref grabs Gabe and tells him to let the hold go. Gabe does so and quickly stomps Zane’s spine again.

Phoenix: Looks like Gabe’s focus in that back of Story.

Griffin pulls Zane up and whips him across the ring Zane leaps and corkscrews off the rope catching Griffin with a Corkscrew Drop kick to the face. Griffin ins the mat and Zane lays on his back. Suddenly his legs comes up and he springs to his feet getting fired up. Griffin staggers of and Story lands a standing Drop kick, Gabe pops back up and staggers towards Story who lands a quick kick to the jaw. Story the hops up and Over the top rope and waits for Griffin to get up. As he does Zane springs onto the top rope looking for a shooting star DDT. Gabe however lands a Drop kick of his own catching Zane under the chin. Zane lays motionless again as Gabe rolls around holding his knee from the impact.

Phoenix: Oh my God.

Griffin staggers up and limps around trying to stretch out his knee as story slowly rolls onto his stomach and starts push himself up. Griffin slowly walks toward Zane and grabs him by the head he quickly hooks Zane and goes for Beat-U (Perfectplex). Zane reverses into No Pain No Zane ( suplex into the corner.) The impact sends Zane rolling and grabbing his back as Griffin is folded up in the corner. Zane rolls to the outside holding his back as Griffin slowly unfolds and lays motionless just outside the corner. Zane fights through the pain in his back and flip up the ring apron pulling out a huge ladder. The ref yells at him but Zane ignores him as he walks the ladder over and sets it up. The ladder is easily 18 feet high as Zane starts up it.

Phoenix: What is he doing? He cannot use that as a weapon!

Zane continues up the ladder and makes it to the top.

Phoenix: Oh my- He is going to jump off of it. This guy is nuts!

He looks down and smirks as he lines up Griffin. Zane launches himself off the ladder going for Z-Pain (Corkscrew Shooting Star legdrop.). He lands it perfectly and the impact sends him bouncing into a pin.

Mackenzie: The winner of the match... Zane Story!

The Bell sounds and Zane rolls around holding his back as the ref starts to help him up. Zanes music hits and he stands upraising his arms as we move into the back.

Hype fades in on Julianna DiMaria, already dressed to compete in a few minutes, walking down the hallway looking quite tense and quite annoyed. This tension stems from the fact that she’s doing whatever she can to come away with an increasingly desperate momentum boost going into Rise in a month from now. Julianna is heard talking to herself a bit, not minding the fact that the cameras are nearby, recording every thought and moment.

Julianna: You’ve GOT to have this win tonight. You HAVE to. You can’t go into Rise on a four match losing streak! You can’t! If you do, you might as well not even bother trying to get that title.

Julianna pauses her walk, frustrated with herself as she continues to talk.

Julianna: I swear, I have to have the worst luck ever in WCG right now. A ladder match is one thing, but what happened last month was a load of garbage! Stupid people don’t know how to mind their own business.

Julianna looks down and shakes her head, taking a deep breath as she lifts her head up. Once she does that, she gets blinded by a flash from a camera.

Julianna: UGH! What the…

Julianna blinks for a few seconds to recover from the flash as the scene pans to reveal a young fan right around her age. The young woman is embarrassed, indicating that the flash wasn’t intentional.

Fan: I’m so sorry… I just wanted to get a picture with you.

Julianna looks at the young woman with a look of anger in her eyes.

Julianna: Who are you and how does someone like you sneak in here?

Fan: Backstage pass… but I’m so sorry! I really thought the flash on this camera was off.

Julianna: Tell me something, young lady, did I ask for you to take a picture of me? NO! I want NOTHING to do with people like you. People like you make me sick! I will NEVER be one of you, you understand that? Now get that camera out of my face and get lost!

Fan: But…

Julianna: NO! Get out of my face! That’s all I ask!

Fan: I just wanted ONE picture of you.

Julianna: Don’t talk back to me! Okay! Get out of my face and don’t talk back to me. Don’t make me call security! I swear to god I will. I don’t care what you want. It’s never about what YOU want or what your fellow fans want, you got that? I am not in this business to make friends or fans. Period!

Fan: Gosh, you don’t need to be so mean! You can’t get by in this world with no friends, you know?

Julianna rolls her eyes.

Julianna: You’re a Ryan Keys fan aren’t you?

The fan’s eyes widen, which tells Julianna everything she needs to know about her. Julianna approaches the fan, continuing to intimidate her.

Julianna: You wanted a portrait of me? Huh? Is that it? You want a picture of me to remember me by? I’ll give you one!

Fan: HEY!

Julianna snatches the camera out of her hands and raises it in the air high enough for the young lady to be unable to reach it.

Fan: Give that back!

Julianna: You want a picture of me? You want one so bad? HERE’S your portrait of me!

SMASH!!! The camera shatters into pieces as Julianna throws it down. The fan covers her face beneath her eyes as tears start to well up in them

Julianna: GET LOST!

Julianna walks away from the fan as she begins to attend to her shattered camera.

Julianna: Like I needed to be even MORE pissed off. UGH! I swear to god, Venus is about to get every bit of frustration I’ve been feeling these last few shows.

The fans boo her to near-deafening proportions as an unapologetic Julianna walks down the hallway toward the entrance. She’s now focused on her upcoming match as the scene fades.

The arena lighting goes red as an instrumental version of Flobots’ ‘Blood in the River’ starts to play out. Venus steps out in her ring attire, a loose black skull designed tank top with only a purple bra underneath, short shorts and wrestling boots. She also wears a purple and gold masquerade mask.

Venus: ~oh~oh~ooooohh~oohhhhh~ooh~oh ~oh~oh~ooooohh~oohhhhh~ooh~oh

In one hand Venus has a microphone in the other a machete which she swings as she skips towards the ring, singing as she goes.

Venus: ~there~is~bloooooooooood~in~the~riiiver ~there~is~bloooooooooood~in~the~riiiver~

As she is half way done the ramp the Messiahs step out onto the stage both wearing the usually anonymous mask, and both with microphone. They step towards the ring following behind Venus.

Venus: ~there~is~bloooooooooood~

Lucifer: ~you~wanna~talk~

Damien: ~or~talk~about~it~

Lucifer: ~i'm~on~top~of~the~mountain~shouting~

Damien: ~the~tears~in~the~river~are~

Lucifer: ~accounting~for~this~downpour~

Damien: ~the~blood~floods~the~gutter~

Lucifer: ~gutter~struggle~is~where~the~blood~reeks~

Venus: ~there~is~bloooooooooood~in~the~riiiver~

Venus is on the apron now walking around it like a ring girl holding the machete high above her head. The Messiah's continue slowly down towards the ring.

Damien: ~and~they~couldn't~find~him~

Lucifer: ~where~the~shots~and~the~slugs~speak~

Damien: ~gun~me~in~the~streets~in~broad~daylight~

Lucifer: ~what~was~wrong~is~now~right~

The mnoster men are stood just outside the ring now.

She swings the machete up high slashing through the three ring ropes allowing easy access for the brothers. They climb up to join her in the ring as WCG staff start to panic running about the ring dismantling the ropes to put in another set. In the center of the ring Lucifer falls to his knees with Venus leaning on his shoulders behind him and Damien standing tall in at the back. Lucifer looks as he’s about to talk when he pass up the mic to Venus.

Venus: Anna you made a bitch real angry. Do you even think before you talk or just open your mouth and let the verbal diarrhea spew out. You think i made a mistake? Joining the Messiahs was not a step down for me, see i had nothing, i needed this, they where my saviors. Turning them down was your biggest mistake. Cause now you face me. I’m not a wrestler, i’m a fighter. I’m going to hurt a skinny white bitch, your gonna feel pain unlike anything you’ve felt before!

Lucifer: This is still just the warm up act. Anna tonight you test are youngest member but your redemption is coming. After the Circle are nothing but a bad memory your trial will begin. You will have to face all of us. Not just me and my brother and Venus. But the entire cause.

Damien ‘Baa’s inciting the fans who all start chanting back.

Lucifer: You are good Anna and i still respect you for what you want to achieve. Before you could have been apart of the crusade, but now your in the way it will eat you up.

Venus: Everything you’ve been saying is wrong. Your priorities are wrong. Who cares about championships when you need to be concentrating on survival.

Lucifer: And tonight the circle will survive but this is just the circus act before your final curtain call. The end is upon boys. Be ready to fight for survival.

Damien: These are the words of your Messiahs.

The light go out. When they come back on Venus is alone in the ring with the staff assembling the ropes.

Match 4

Venus vs Julianna DiMaria

Mackenzie: The next match is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first hailing from San Diego California. Julianne DiMaria.

“Boss's Daughter” hits the speakers as Julianna DiMaria appears on the stage, greeted by some boos from the fans in attendance. She ignores them and heads down to the ring with a confident, focused look on her face. Once she heads inside the ring, she cracks her knuckles, indicating she's ready to fight and afterward does the "talk to the hand" gesture toward all the fans that are booing her, displaying another touch of arrogance to get the fans against her even more.. She heads to her corner and scoffs at the reaction she's getting as the song fades and she waits for what's coming next.

Ring announcer: And her opponent inside of the ring Venuuuus.

Julianna immediately starts yelling at the referee pointing to the two Messiah members outside the ring.

Phoenix: it looks like Julianne is not happy with Lucifer and Damien remaining at ringside. This is a one on one match not a handicap match.

The ref seems to agree and tells the Messiahs to clear the ring as Venus frowns but Julianna smiles. The ref turns back as Lucifer and Damien begin making their way back stage, calling for the bell.

DING DING DING

Phoenix: Looks like we are under way.

Julianna and Venus circle each other before locking up. Julianna twists creating space and throws Venus with a hip toss landing her hard on the matt. Julianna quickly applies a headlock pushing Venus into the mat. Venus pushes back allowing her to stand sending Julianna towards the ropes. Julianna bounces off the ropes and goes for a clothesline which Venus ducks and turns hitting Julianna with a Dropkick after coming off the opposite ropes.

Phoenix: Smart move by Venus catching Julianna unprepared. Julianna is obviously still worried Venus backup will be coming back.

Julianna goes down and Venus is quick to her feet first and begins laying into Julianna with some quick Jabs before irish whipping Julianna into the corner. Venus rushes in driving her shoulder into Julianna's mid section. Venus grabs Julianna by the head and attempts a running bulldog but Julianna pushes her off and landing hard from her own momentum. Julianna is fast to Venus and lifting her to her feet hits a side suplex.

Phoenix: That's more like the Julianna we know. She is settling in not having to look over her shoulder.

Both ladies are down for a second.

PhoenixL Venus wasn't ready for that crafty move by the more veteran wrestler. But, Julianna is looking to take control now.

Pulling Venus to her feet Julianna steps across Venus body applying an abdominal stretch. Venus grimaces as Julianna applies pressure. Venus struggles in the hold but Julianna cranks down the hold.

Phoenix: Julianna looking to wear down Venus. This is where Julianna is at her best. Taking an opponent out of her game and making sure she puts the hurt on.

Julianna twists and drops her weight into a reverse DDT. Standing Julianna poses to the crowd before going for a cover.

Julianna picks up Venus into a reverse headlock and sets up for a suplex. Venus blocks it. Julianna throws a few abdomen punches but Venus blocks the suplex again. Reversing it both Venus and Joanna hit the canvas hard. Venus is first to her feet and begins stomping on Julianna. Straddling Julianna Venus begins a few elbows to Julianna who brings her legs up to Venus pulling her down into a pin.

Both women back to their feet Venus taking a slight advantage Irish whips Julianna. Julianna hits the ropes and goes for a flying crossbody but Venus ducks sending Julianna flying landing in a heap. Venus moves and goes for a standing moonsault. It connects Venus hooks the leg.

Julianna is the first to her feet stopping the count. She grabs Venus in a headlock and hits a DDT. She pops up having caught her second wind and poses for the crowd inciting a chorus of boos before giving her signature talk to the hand to the crowd. Circling back Venus is still on the ground. Julianna reaches down but Venus rolls her into a small package.

Julianna is again first to her feet.

Phoenix: Julianna has to be looking to end this now!

Julianna charges Venus, but Venus is able to duck her incoming clothesline. Julianna makes quick uses of the ropes and stops her momentum. She hurries through them and to the ring apron. Venus turns around, just in time for Julianna to connect with a Springboard Flying Forearm Smash taking Venus down. With her down, Julianna grabs her by the hair and lifts her up. DiMaria has a few choice words for Venus before hitting "DiMaria Code" - (Full Nelson Facebuster aka "Skull Crushing Finale") as Julianna makes the proud cover.

Phoenix: DiMaria does it... a much needed win moving towards Crossroad: Rise!

Mackenzie: The winner of the match... she is Julianna DiMaria!

Both Damien and Lucifer slides into the ring as Julianna uses her speed to escape the ring and hurries up the ramp. We move into the back.

As we come back from the match, we sees Aaynet of The Seventh Circle, silently stalking through the hallways. She looks headed towards the entrance as one of her charges is up in action next. Suddenly she stops and looks over to a slightly opened door. Aaynet moves over to the door and peeks inside. She smiles as she sees Ruby Rose all alone in the locker room. Ruby’s back is to Aaynet as she bends over, stretching out in preparation for her main event match. Aaynet leans on the door, and it opens up wide with a slight creak as it does, pulling Ruby’s attention towards her.

Ruby: Really?

Ruby sighs when she spots the woman standing in the doorway. It's no secret they haven't been the best of friends, but Aaynet's attempts to be friendly have been bordering on creepy.

Ruby: Can I help you with something?

Aaynet: I was just admiring the view for a bit.

Aaynet smiled at her, then licked her lips as she walked in to the dressing room. She strolls over to Ruby, getting almost uncomfortably close.

Aaynet: Preparing for your big match later on?

Ruby draws back from Aaynet, clearly insulted by the lack of manners the other woman has to invade her personal space.

Ruby: Yeah.

She nods and shrugs her shoulders at her obvious answer to an obvious question.

Aaynet closes the distance once more as she looks at Ruby and bites her lower lip.

Aaynet: I’ll be watching very closely.

Aaynet runs her index finger along Ruby’s cheek, clearly freaking out the diminutive blonde bad ass.

Aaynet: I can’t wait to see you with that title around your waist.

Ruby snatches Aaynet by the wrist and for a moment, there's a glimmer of what might be rage boiling under the surface of Ruby Rose. But then she just smiles and politely casts Aaynet's hand aside.

Ruby: Yeah, well, that makes two of us.

Aaynet smiles as she looks in Ruby’s eyes and sees the hint of anger.

Aaynet: How about a good luck kiss.

Aaynet smirks and licks her lips again as he moves towards Ruby. Ruby turns her lips and steps around Aaynet while holding a hand up in her direction.

Ruby: You know, I'm over this whole thing already. So, why don't we just admit that you can't stand me and I am not interested in whatever this is? We can go our separate ways, I won't talk to Karston anymore and you won't have to worry about whatever it is that has you worried.

Aaynet grabs Ruby’s wrists and pulls her back.

Aaynet: You think I didn’t want you talking to Karston because I hate you?

Aaynet smirks at Ruby and shakes her head no, then leans in and gets real close to her ear.

Aaynet: I didn’t want him to play with my new favorite toy.

Aaynet licks Ruby’s cheek as she grabs her other hand and holds her close. Ruby jerks out of Aaynet's hold and shoves her back.

Ruby: Don't touch me!

She holds a hand out that's meant to keep Aaynet at bay, but it's likely the look in Ruby's eyes are doing a better job of that considering it's a look we haven't really seen from Ruby before.

Ruby: I don't know what kind of game you're playing, but I'm not interested. Don't come near me again.

Ruby walks out the door, yanking it slammed shut behind her. Aaynet smiles as she walks to the door and presses herself against it as we cut another backstage scene.

Scene cuts backstage to the private dressing room currently being shared by Danni LeBlanc and Donovan Basch. Normally, Donovan would be somewhat more animated, but it's apparent that he's preoccupied. This does not go unnoticed by Danni, who stops her own preparations and sits down next to her paramour.

Danni: Donny….

He remains silent.

Danni: Spidey, I can tell when something's eating at you. Is it the fact that we'll be facing each other?

Donovan looks up and sighs.

Donovan: Well, remind me never to play poker…..

Danni: You're right. You have absolutely NO poker face…

Danni puts her hand in his shoulder.

Danni: We both knew that this would happen eventually. It's not as if we'd be able to avoid facing each other. I know you're not going to purposely hurt me, right?

Donovan: Of course not!

Danni: And you know I'm not going to try and mess with you, so cheer up.

Donovan: Easier said than done. (Pauses) But you're right. Worrying about this needlessly is just going to throw me off.

Danni: That's the spirit! Besides, with both of us in the match, the odds of that belt coming home with us are that much better…

He smiles. Danni kisses him on the cheek before getting to her feet. Just before she leaves the room, Donovan clears his throat.

Donovan: Just save a little energy for after the show. We have some celebrating to do….

She smiles and exits the room. Scene cuts back to ringside.

Damien Salvatore vs Karston Daire

Phoenix: I'm not exactly sure what the hell we just saw, but I do know that it is time for a fight right now.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for One Fall. Introducing first, he weighs in at three hundred and eighty five pounds, hailing from The Kingdom of Nirvana, representing The Messiahs... DAMIEN SALVATORE!

The lights go completely black as "Killing In the Name" begins to play. The arena remains black for a good thirty seconds, then a bright white light shines down at the top of the ramp. As the lyrics kick in, Damien walks out, stepping in to the light. His face is covered with an Anonymous mask as he looks out among the crowd. He stalks down to the ring, pulls himself up on to the apron and then steps over the top rope. The lights go out again, then a bright flash is seen in the ring. Damien holds up a white flare, a torch in the darkness. He steps towards the ropes, lowers it towards the crowd, and then tosses it, forcing them to scramble a bit. The music continues as the flare burns on. It slowly fizzles out, and again the arena is left in darkness. The music stops and the lights pop back on as Damien is now in the corner awaiting his opponent, an angry scowl having replaced his mask.

Mackenzie: Introducing his opponent, he weighs in two hundred and forty five pounds, hailing from Duluth, Minnesota, representing The Seventh Circle... KARSTON DAIRE!

"Mummy Dust" begins to play as the lights dim and a large spotlight shines down on the stage. A massive plume of smoke rises up, and out steps Karston Daire. Karston bellow out a war cry towards the ring, then slowly makes his way down. Karston stalks his way up the steps, then stares at Damien from the apron. Karston gets in to the ring, goes right to the middle and raises his fist high. Karston slams his fist down and the lights shut off. As they come back, Karston is in the opposite corner, staring straight at Damien.

Phoenix: The Tattooed Terror looks focused and ready for this match. It's going to be an uphill battle as he is giving up over a hundred pounds in this fight. Still, he is in my opinion, the most vicious and dangerous striker in all of West Coast Genesis.

Karston starts off quick, hitting a running high knee to Damien that sends him stumbling back in to the corner. Karston stays on the offensive with a few hard forearm shots, followed by a couple of chops. Karston goes to shoot him in to the other corner, but Damien stands firm. Damien pulls Karston in for a clothesline, but Karston ducks and buries a knee right in to his midsection. Damien staggers out of the corner a bit and Karston hits a hard leg kick. Karston peppers the right leg of Damien with vicious outside leg kicks, looking to chop the big man down. Damien starts to wear a little bit as Karston goes higher, working on the tree trunk like thigh of Damien. Karston hits kick after kick to the right leg, each one echoing through the arena with a hard snap. Damien almost goes to a knee and Karston takes a few steps back, then charges in with a soccer style kick to the leg. Damien stumbles, but still won't go down. Karston looks for another big kick to the leg, but Damien shoves him backwards in to the ropes. Karston uses the momentum and comes right back with the big bicycle kick, but it only takes Damien down to a knee.

Phoenix: Karston throwing some of the hardest strikes I have ever seen, he hits that nasty Karston Kick, but the big man still doesn't go down. What is Karston gonna have to do to take this behemoth down?

Karston hits the ropes and looks for another Karston Kick, but Damien rolls out of the way. karston turns around in to a giant clothesline and he goes straight down. Karston is quick to get to his feet, but a boot to the face puts him straight back down. Karston is a little slower and clearly shook up, but he's up once more. This time Damien hauls Karston up and then plants him in to the mat with a powerslam. Damien looks like he's gonna cover, but instead he pulls Karston up to his feet. Damien raises Karston up over his head in a gorilla press and shows off for a bit. Karston shakes the cobwebs, rakes the eyes and slides off. He delivers a hard chop block to Damien, then looks for another Karston kick. Instead, Damien gets to his feet and hauls him in to a bear hug. Damien holds Karston up, squeezing the air out of his lungs. Damien seems to hold the 245 pounder up with relative ease as he applies more pressure. Karston looks close to fading, but he hears the crowd actually cheering him on now. Karston fires back with a hard right hand to Damien. he hits another, and a third, then delivers the bell clap. Damien releases the hold and grabs his ears to stop the ringing. Karston tackles advantage with a high knee strike and looks to finally take the big man down with Devil's Due, but Damien hits ane elbow to the side of the head, Grabs Karston by the throat and hits the Incarceration Slam. Damien makes the cover

THR - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: Near fall there for Damien, and it might be just a matter of time for him. Karston using his striking and showing some intelligene, but the giant may be to much for him.

Damien pulls Karston up and hits a hard fallaway slam. Damien covers, but Karston kicks out at 2. Damien pulls Karston up once more and delivers a flapjack, then follows with a leg drop. Damien covers, but again Karston kicks out at 2. Damien hits a few hard right hands, pulls Karston up and plants him with a vicious spinebuster. Damien covers once more, and this time a defiant Karston kicks out at 1. Karston fires up to his feet and delivers a few hard right hands, followed by a vicious chop. His flurry is cut short though as Damien comes back with a big boot. Damien pulls Karston up and puts him in position for an Argentine backbreaker, but Karston rakes the eyes and gets free. Karston hits another chop block, bringing the big man down to a knee. Karston connects withs the Karston kick this time, then quickly follows with the Devil's Due, bringing the big man up off his feet for the first time. Karston makes the cover

THREE - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: No, the ref says Damien kicked out at the last possible second. That had to be two point nine seconds. I thought Karston had defeated the monster.

Karston looks at the ref in shock, and shakes his head a bit. Karston grabs Damien by the hair and brings him up to his knees. Karston hits a few clubbing blows to the back and hooks Damien for the DaireDevil Driver. Karston goes to lift the big man up, but Damien stays down. Karston goes to lift him once mroe, and this time Damien pulls his arms free and tosses Karston over head. Karston gets to his feet, but Damien is up to and grabs him by the back of the head. Damien charges forward, driving Karston head first in to the turnbuckle. the entire ring shakes as he does and Damien smiles slightly. Damien hits a few clubbing blows to the back of Karston, then stes him up on the top rope. Damien follows up the the second, pulls Karston in to a German suplex position, then tosses him almost all the way across the ring with the Freedom Release. Damien grabs Karston's arm, pulls him away from the ropes and covers, hooking both legs.

Phoenix: A big win for the big man. If his brother can defeat Gunnar Wahl in our next match, it will give them a lot of momentum leading in to the tag team showdown.

We move backstage.

The scene cuts backstage with Kaylee Kassie standing in front of a West Coast Genesis television monitor; with Mia Bala standing beside her with a microphone in hand.

Mia Bala: Kaylee, I heard that you have some big news to share with us tonight?

Kaylee smiles and nods.

Kaylee Kassie: I do! We have a new signing to introduce to West Coast Genesis!

Mia’s brow furrows.

Mia Bala: Oh we do? And who might that be?

Kaylee Kassie: Someone who has wrestling running through her blood. Her sister made a name for herself in these parts as one of our greatest Five Lake Champions…

Mia’s eyes widen.

Mia Bala: Wait… Really!?

Kaylee Kassie: Yes, really! Please welcome the one, the only… Megan Rydell!

Megan walks up into the scene and Kaylee shakes her hand before walking away, leaving Mia alone to interview Megan.

Mia Bala: wow, Megan, this is quite the surprise. What brings you here?

Megan scoffs and rolls her eyes.

Megan Rydell: What kind of question is that? I’m here to wrestle, obviously.

Mia is taken aback by Megan’s attitude.

Mia Bala: Wow, you got a bit more attitude than your sister does.

Megan raises her hand in front of Mia’s face.

Megan Rydell: Stop it. Stop the comparisons with Kenzie. I love my sister to death but I am my OWN person. I’m not Kenzie, I’m not the younger Rydell, I’m simply Megan Rydell and I’m here to forge my own path and legacy in this sport.

Megan sighs a breath of relief as she looks at the camera and then glances back at Mia who nods in surprise.

Mia Bala: Understood, Megan. So, other than all of that, what else are your intentions here?

Megan Rydell: To be the best. And to do that, I knew I had to start somewhere. I didn’t want to jump into Redemption immediately because I want to learn from the bottom up. West Coast Genesis is the perfect place for me to start but I didn’t start here because I doubt my abilities. I know what I can do in the ring but the fun part about that? None of you have any idea of what I’m capable of.

There’s a brief pause as Megan looks confidently into the camera before Mia asks another question.

Mia Bala: Speaking of which, where did you get your training? Kenzie? Adrien Cochrane? Chris Night?

Megan chuckles and cuts Mia off.

Megan Rydell: No, no, no! Like I said, I’m forging my OWN path. I can’t avoid who I am related to but I can still do things differently than Kenzie. I didn’t train with anyone she’s known for training with. Instead, I’ve been secretly been working with Flex Johnson and Blyss Lockhart over the last twelve months at Flex’s Dojo in Los Angeles. Needless to say, I’ve put in the time and the work and the effort to get here. I’m ready to wrestling and I’m ready to show that I don’t live in anyone’s shadow.

Megan steps forward to Mia so that they’re eye to eye and Megan glares at her.

Megan Rydell: You got that?

Mia nods with an intimidated look on her face.

Mia Bala: Oh.. Uh, yeah! I do!

Megan’s mood changes and she smiles widely before patting Mia on the shoulder.

Megan Rydell: Good! I’ll see you around Mia! Have a great night!

Megan walks away, practically skipping with glee as Mia watches on in confusion before the scene fades away. We break for commercial.

There’s an establishing shot of a door. A makeshift placard has been attached to it; identifying it as the office of the “WCG General Manager”. The camera pans back to reveal the approach of Tornado Desencadenado. The wrestler, dressed in his street clothes, dallies outside the office for several moments; then, hesitantly, he knocks. After a pause the door opens and the GM of West Coast Genesis steps outside.

Kaylee Kassie: Yes, can I help you, Tornado?

Tornado: Yes, hi, Mi- uh, Kaylee. Sorry to bother you in the middle of the show, but there’s an issue I’d like to talk over with you if you have the time.

Kassie closes the door behind her.

Kaylee: Ok. What is it?

The Spin Doctor, surprised that the discussion will take place there and then, awkwardly begins his appeal.

Tornado: Well, I want to request a match against Scotty Latimer. Not sure if you know, but he and I have, uh, have been going back and forth for a while now, about who’s better, and what the right way to wrestle is. It’s time we have a match to settle things.

Kaylee: I’m aware you and Scotty have beef. When would like this match to take place?

Tornado: As soon as possible.

Kaylee: That would be next month at Rise.

She references WCG’s upcoming pay-per-view. Tornado nods.

Kaylee: I suppose it’s possible to have you face Scotty at Rise, but here’s my question to you; how does West Coast Genesis benefit from having this match? Are the fans really interested in seeing you two wrestle again?

Tornado’s expression hardens slightly at the suggestion that a fight between him at Latimer wouldn’t be a ‘draw’.

Tornado: Well, I know we did have a match before, and Latimer won, but he didn’t pin me. The way he ran his mouth afterwards I think I deserve a chance to prove I’m just as good as he is.

One of Kaylee’s eyebrows arches inquisitively.

Kaylee: ‘Deserve’?

Tornado: Um, yeah. And I think the fans would like to know which of us would win in a one on one match.

There’s a pause. Tornado rubs the back of his neck uncertainly. Kaylee produces her phone and types a quick text. Then she again addresses the man in front of her.

Kaylee: I admit I’m curious to see how a match between you two would go, but it isn’t about what you or Scotty or I want. We need to give the fans a reason to care. Something to get them invested…. Ruby Rose is involved in your issue with Scotty, correct?

TD blinks in surprise at the question.

Tornado: Involved? No. I mean, we’re not, uh, fighting over Ruby, or anything. But she’s been there when Scotty and I have argued, trying to keep the peace.

The statement satisfies Kassie.

Kaylee: Then she’ll do the same during your match at Rise; as special guest referee. That’s something that will get people’s attention.

The WCG GM smiled proudly at her idea. Tornado didn’t seem as convinced.

Tornado: It’s certainly a, uhm, creative stipulation, but I don’t think forcing Ruby to play more of a role in this than she already has is fair- to her, I mean.

Kaylee shook her head.

Kaylee: Nobody will force her, Tornado. The decision will be hers alone to make. But for your match with Scotty Latimer to happen at Rise, Ruby’s going to have to agree to referee it.

She checks her phone again.

Kaylee: Something’s come up that needs my attention. You’ll talk to Ruby and Scotty and get back to me before the end of the show?

The Ring Revolutionary doesn’t speak; just gives his boss a reluctant nod. Kaylee nods back and walks out of the shot, leaving Tornado alone with his concerns. The scene fades out.

Lucifer Salvatore vs Gunnar Wahl

Mackenzie Murphy: The following contest is set for one fall... introducing first, weighing in at 283 pounds, he is... LUCIFER SALVATORE!!!

As “Killing in the Name” begins to play, Lucifer steps out wearing an Anonymous mask. He slowly walks to the ring where he lights a white flare and throws it into the crowd. As the flare lands, the crowd wisely gets out of the way as nearby event staff extinguish the flare.

Mackenzie Murphy: And his opponent, weighing in at 290 pounds... GUNNAR WAHL!!!

"Mummy Dust" begins to play as the lights dim and a large spiotlight shines down on the stage. Aaynet walks out and stretches both arms wide. Two massive plumes of smoke rise on either side of her and out steps Gunnar Wahl on the left and Karston Daire on the right. The two men let out a primal yell, then stalk their way down to the ring. Gunnar pulls himself up on to the ring apron as Karston heads up the steps. Aaynet slithers into the center of the ring and rises up to her knees as Gunnar and Karston step inside and take their places, to her left and right as all three raise their right fists high in the air, then slam them down on the ring, the lights going out as they hit the mat. The lights slowly come back up as Aaynet and Karston move out of the ring, leaving Gunnar in the ring to await the start of the match.

Hayden Phoenix: This should be an interesting matchup. Two big behemoths are about to collide....

Both men charge at full speed, colliding in the center of the ring. He does, but Gunnar nails him with a rib-crunching spear that sends him crashing to the mat. He goes for an early cover, but Lucifer easily kicks out at the count of one. Gunnar sits up, shaking his head as he sneers at his opponent.

Hayden Phoenix: Gunnar was looking to end this bout quickly, but it’s gonna take a lot more than that to wear down Lucifer.

Gunnar pulls Lucifer up by the hair and into a side headlock. Lucifer pushes him off, shoving him toward the ropes, then running toward the opposite side of the ring. Both men hit the ropes at the same time, rebounding for yet another head-on collision in the center of the ring. This time, as both men attempt clotheslines, they both hit the canvas, but are quick to get back to their feet. They lock up, but Lucifer drives a knee into Gunnar’s gut, knocking the wind out of him. Gunnar staggers back, allowing Lucifer to move in with a brutal power slam. Another pin attempt, and this time it’s Gunnar kicking out almost as soon as the referee drops his hand for the count of one. Lucifer sits up and looks down at Gunnar, who surprises Lucifer by throwing a quick punch right into the side of his face. As Lucifer gets up to shake off the cobwebs, Gunnar gets to his feet, running the ropes to gain some speed. He bounces off of the ropes, drilling Lucifer to the mat with a spinebuster. He follows up by running to the corner, then leaping from the second turnbuckle and flattening his opponent with a senton. Gunnar goes for the cover, but only gets a two count.

Hayden Phoenix: Gunnar almost had him with that one, but Lucifer managed to keep this match going. No telling how much longer this match will go on....

Frustrated, Gunnar begins to argue with the referee. While the official is distracted, Karston slips into the ring with a leather strap in his hands. He waits for Lucifer to get to his feet, then moves in behind to choke him out with the strap. Lucifer claws at the strap as Karston pulls back, but eventually he gets his fingers around the strap and manages to pry it out of his assailant’s hands. He turns around and drills a fist into Karston’s face, sending him falling through the ropes and down to the arena floor. At that same moment, the referee turns around to see Lucifer yelling at both Karston and Aaynet at ringside. This prompts a still-angry Gunnar to charge at Lucifer from behind with a lariat that sends both big men tumbling over the top rope and down to the floor, taking Karston out in the process as well. Gunnar and Lucifer get to their feet, trading punches on the arena floor before Lucifer attempts an irish whip into the ringpost. Gunnar reverses the move, sending Lucifer crashing into the steel post himself. As Lucifer staggers back, Gunnar lifts him up and drops him with a sidewalk slam onto the floor. With Aaynet shouting in approval at Gunnar’s efforts, Gunnar once again pulls up Lucifer by the hair, then rolls him under the bottom rope before following him back into the ring. Once both men are in the ring, Lucifer gets to his knees just in time to find himself once again in Gunnar’s grasp. Gunnar pulls him into a vertical position before drilling his head into the canvas for a spine buster, then signals to the crowd that he’s about to end the match. He once again pulls Lucifer to his feet before dropping him with Violent Delights and going for the cover...

Mackenzie Murphy: Here is your winner as the result of a pinfall... GUNNAR WAHL!!!

As Lucifer rolls out of the ring, Karston and Aaynet join Gunnar back in the ring as they celebrate his victory. We move backstage.

Hype fades in on Julianna DiMaria not long before the semi-main event of the show between Ryan Keys and Scotty Latimer is scheduled to begin. Julianna is so intense at the moment that even though her match has long since come and gone, she’s still in her wrestling gear, zeroed in on the television screen in front of her. She notices the door coming open and interviewer Mia Bala coming in and Julianna then hangs her head in disgust considering she’s the last person that she wanted to see. Julianna stands up and walks toward her meeting her right in the eyes.

Julianna: You want to talk to me?

Mia: Obviously…

Julianna: Make it quick! I have a match to watch in a few minutes, a match that for obvious reasons I have a vested interest in. I’m not in the mood for any sort of nonsense. I haven’t been for a while now with all those frustrations within me building up.

Mia: I can clearly tell. Before we get to the match you’re about to see, I have to ask you and I think I can speak for every person in the audience as well as those watching at home. The way you treated that fan earlier was completely unacceptable.

Julianna shrugs.

Julianna: She tried to take a picture of me without my permission. I am not responsible for any damage to anyone’s personal property.

Mia: The upper management isn’t happy with you right now, I’ll tell you that much.

Julianna: So? Is there a point to all this? I could care less if Kaylee Kassie is mad at me for the way I treated that fan. I’ll pay for a replacement camera. It’s fine. I don’t care.

Mia: You should care because ultimately, you’re talking about being a representative for WCG as its champion which you could very well be after Rise and if you’re going to represent this company as the WCG West Coast Champion, you shouldn’t be exhibiting that kind of behavior. That is NOT the way to represent WCG.

Julianna: Listen, I am going to say this once, alright? I represent WCG the way I want to represent it. I am not going to surround myself with a bunch of crybabies in the locker room that don’t even bother to stand up to me directly lining up to kiss my ass like I’m the greatest thing ever. I am not going to surround myself with stupid “little people” that don’t know this business from the back of their own ass! I will NEVER be for the people. I will NEVER stoop to the levels of this locker room and join anyone’s GLEE club, you got that? That’s not my style, that never will be. If that makes me an outsider, great. I strive to be different. Why dumb myself down and be cookie cutter just like everyone else?

Mia doesn’t know what to make of the comments Julianna just made as she appears to be uncomfortable with what she’s saying. Still, she pushes on.

Mia: That’s not going to help your reputation. After all, you’re starting to develop a reputation around here as a bully and what you did earlier isn’t going to help that.

Julianna: A bully?

Julianna completely laughs off the notion.

Julianna: What? Are we in grade school again? Are these people throwing that word around sad because I hurt their poor wittle feelings? AW!!! Poor BABIES! UGH! I hate this locker room, I swear to God, Mia. I’m busting my ass representing this company in tournaments like AFI and very few appreciate it. I think Scotty might be the only one that does.

Mia: Speaking of Scotty though, not only is he one of the few in the locker room that you actually have no issues with, but he’s in action against Ryan Keys next. Obviously, you have a vested interest in this match. How do you like Scotty’s chances against Ryan?

Julianna smiles, liking the question.

Julianna: I LOVE his chances. I mean, sure, Scotty has some bridges and friendships I don’t agree with but that’s not going to make me like him any less. He and I were on the same page last month, there are no issues between him and I. Scotty is a man that knows how to represent a brand unlike Ryan and I would LOVE IT if Scotty pummeled the hell out of him. I hope he gets his pound of flesh. The way I see it, I hope he gets as much as possible but… not TOO much. He needs to leave more than enough for me for Rise. After all..

Julianna pauses and has a wide smirk on her face before she continues.

Julianna: The last thing I want is all the Ryan Keys apologists crying and making excuses for him when I take the title from him. “You only beat him because Scotty did most of the damage, you MEAN BULLY!” *laughs* What a bunch of crybabies! It’s all good! Third time’s a charm! Come Rise, I WILL FINALLY become the West Coast Champion and Ryan better hope and pray he wins this because here’s a spoiler for you: if Ryan can’t beat Scotty, then he can’t beat ME! I’ll be rooting for Scotty, big time.

Mia: Is there…

Julianna raises her hand to Mia.

Julianna: No more questions.

Mia: But…

Julianna: No… no, you’ve breathed enough of my air. Now scram before I take that microphone and break that too!

Mia rolls her eyes as she’s disgusted by Julianna’s attitude. After that, she turns and reluctantly leaves. Julianna snickers to herself as she sits back down in front of the television, ready to watch the match that’s about to take place in the ring.

Ryan Keys(c) vs Scotty Latimer

"Personal Jesus" plays and out comes the arrogant Scotty Latimer who slowly walks to the ring forcing the audience to wait for Him. He wants the world to enjoy the beauty of Latimer and takes his time so they can soak it in. Finally he gets to the ring, slowly gets on the apron, enters the ring, and waits for the match to start.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first from Manhatten, New York! Weighing in at 205 pounds… He is "Simply Ravishing"! He is Scotty Latimer!

Phoenix: Scotty Latimer has had a lot to say about his opponent here tonight, the West Coast Champion. He, along with Julianna DiMaria, have questioned his commitment to West Coast Genesis. Tonight is Latimer's opportunity to do more than post some tweets.

"I'm Made of Wax, Larry, What Are You Made Of?" by A Day to Remember plays while blue and white lights strobe over the stage. As Ryan's entrance video is shown in the titantron the man himself walks out to take center stage with his West Coast Championship secured around his waist. With a bright smile playing on his lips he does a confident pose before slowly making his way down the ramp.

Mackenzie: Introducing his opponent… hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada and weighing in at 182 pounds… he is the West Coast Champion… Ryan Keys!

Phoenix: Our very popular West Coast Champion Ryan Keys. I have it on good authority that Ryan has been very busy with his personal life lately and apologizes if the fans feel he's not more visible lately. I can honestly say that not a single fan feels disrespected by Ryan and they love him as their champion. Just listen to this crowd!

Slapping the hands of the fans to his side he jogs closer to the ring until he slides in through the bottom ropes. As he makes way up the corner ring post he stops and looks around to hear the cheers of the crowd as he teases them with tearing off his shirt and tossing it to the side. Showing the same confident pose as before he hops down and extends his leg over the ring post to stretch them out and show his flexibility before the match starts.

The two men move in for a collar and elbow tie-up only for Latimer to SLAP Keys right across the face! Keys is disrespected, but does his best to keep his emotions in check even as Latimer mouths off to him. The actual collar and elbow tie-up that starts the match is overly aggressive from both men and they battle back and forth for the advantage. Keys uses the pressure from Latimer to go low and throw the Midnight Man across the ring! Both men rush to their feet and Keys scores with a dropkick, following up with a second one before Latimer even gets to his feet. Keys jumps into a quick cover.

Latimer is off his shoulders fast.

Phoenix: Latimer starting things off with some disrespect, but the champion is showing his quickness.

Keys goes for a whip to the corner, but Latimer counters and drags Keys into a belly to belly throw! Latimer catches Keys with a sharp knee to the midsection. A roaring elbow throws Keys off his feet and Latimer feeds him through the ropes, bending his neck against the middle rope while yanking back on Ryan's hair. Corey Carter reprimands Latimer and he responds by delivering vicious crossface to Keys while keeping him trapped in the ropes. Carter counts and Latimer counts along all the way to four before releasing the hold on Keys in the ropes.

Phoenix: Scotty Latimer didn't waste time in taking control of this match, not to mention bending the rules. He was very vocal not that long ago in a Twitter argument where he defended his style of win at all costs.

Latimer drags Keys out of the ropes and hoists the slightly smaller man into the air for a stalling brainbuster, encouraging the fans to count how long he's got the champ vertical. The fans only boo Scotty Latimer's arrogance and Latimer drops Keys on his spine! He transitions into a cover.

Keys manages to get his shoulder off the canvas.

Phoenix: Keys has to be one of the most resilient men in all of West Coast Genesis. The fans really connect with his never quit attitude, no matter what is thrown at him in the ring or out.

Latimer drags Keys up and delivers a series of knees to the sternum that rock the champion. Latimer hits the ropes and comes back with another roaring elbow only for Keys to bridge out and just avoid the contact! He delivers a back kick to Latimer's midsection and then sprints off the ropes, catching him with a running hurracanrana that throws him across the ring and into the turnbuckle. Keys races over, landing on Latimer's thighs to toss him out of the corner with a monkey flip! The West Coast Champion is rolling, catching Latimer on the rise with an arm wringer right into a bridging northern lights suplex!

Phoenix: A beautiful Lockdown northern lights suplex from Keys! Almost secured the victory there but Latimer has too much fight left in him!

Keys is desperate to keep the advantage and he snatches up Latimer's arm only for Scotty to respond with a HARD forearm shot! Keys is down and staring up at the lights in a daze, giving Latimer a moment to recover. With a scowl on his face, the Future Elite rains down on the champion with relentless stomps to the point Carter has to get involved so he can check on Keys. Latimer argues but the referee forces him back so he can check the condition of the champion.

Phoenix: Ryan Keys suffered what looked like a stiff forearm shot and now referee Corey Carter is making sure he can still compete. He looks out of it from where I'm sitting.

Keys waves off any suggestion about calling it quits and fights up to his feet-BAM! Latimer immediately delivers a Superkick that puts Keys back down on the canvas. His scowl has transformed into a smug grin and Latimer saunters around the ring before placing a boot on Ryan's chest and flexing his muscles as he makes the most arrogant cover.

Keys throws his shoulder off the mat.

Phoenix: Latimer getting overly confident now. He probably could have won if he had actually covered Keys there.

Latimer doesn't look bothered by it, still confident with his level of control right now. He drags Keys up by the air and mouths off to him some more before delivering a second slap across the face! Latimer draws Keys back up, cinching in a waistlock and pausing long enough to slap Keys across the back of the head a couple times to really get the crowd riled up. Latimer launches Keys with a German Suplex and flaunts his impressive wrestling technique.

Phoenix: It appears as if Latimer is more concerned with showing off the crowd now than actually winning this thing. Is he that confident?

Latimer points to the heavens, soaking in the boos from the crowd before exiting to the apron and climbing to the top rope. He encourages the crowd to get behind him - something they do not do - and he soars with a Frog Splash that finds nothing but canvas!

Phoenix: Keys avoids the Frog Splash at the very last second!

Keys is in a daze, but with the help of the ropes he gets to his feet. Latimer is holding his stomach, but he also fights to his feet. With a burst of energy, Keys charges out of the ropes and DROPS Latimer's face across his knee!

Phoenix: Master Key! Keys just nailed the Master Key!

Keys crawls into the cover as quickly as he can!

Phoenix: Ryan Keys did it! He pulled it out!

Mackenzie: Here is your winner.. The West Coast Champion… Ryan Keys!

Stunned, Keys rolls over onto his back and huffs in a series of heavy breaths. Corey Carter helps him sit up, raising his arm to signal him as the victory before going to check on Latimer.

Phoenix: Scotty Latimer gave our West Coast Champion a hell of a battle tonight. Keys showed some great resilience and was avoiding that Frog Splash was what really turned the tides. Keys proves why he's our champion, but you can't overlook Latimer's efforts.

We move backstage.

We are backstage not far from the gorilla position as the Six-Person Ladder Match to crown the first-ever South Bay Champion is just moments away. One of those competitors - Ruby Rose - looks calm and focused as she twists and turns her body slowly to its furthest position in each direction to loosen her muscles up. A voice from off camera calls to her.

Tornado: There’s the champ.

The young wrestler, clad in his street clothes, enters the frame, a broad smile on his face. Ruby smiles as he approaches and shakes her head at his choice of greeting.

Ruby: I have to win the match first, you know.

Tornado: You’ll win. It’s going to be tough, but you got this.

Ruby: I hope so. There's a lot competition out there. GOOD competition. Sorry. I start to hyperventilate every time I think about it.

She takes a couple deep breaths and shakes her hands out, nervously.

Tornado: You need anything? Glass of water? A paper bag?

The Ring Revolutionary grinned mischievously. Ruby laughs and shakes her head.

Ruby: No, I'll be alright. Thanks, though. And thanks for stopping by before I head out. That's really nice of you. I still think you should have been in this match, too.

Tornado: Nice of you to say, but I haven’t earned that yet.

His expression turned more serious. He had something to ask his friend, even though this really wasn’t the time or place for it. Still, he wasn’t sure he’d get another chance.

Tornado: Hate to bring this up now, but I need a favor. I spoke with Kaylee Kassie about finally getting my match with Latimer. She said we could do it next month at Rise, but only if you served as the referee. Would that be ok?

The sudden shift in topic clearly catches Ruby off-guard and she blinks a couple times before she's fully caught up. Though, the slow-to-react moment may have something to do with what exactly is being asked.

Ruby: I… uh… you got your match with Scotty? And, wait, why do I need to be the referee? I've never refereed a match in my life.

Tornado: Kaylee thinks it will drum up more interest in the match, since, you know, you’re friends with both of us, and have kind of been in the middle of things. Sort of. I know it’s asking a lot, and if you don’t want to do it, I totally understand. I just need to give her an answer by the end of tonight’s show.

He smiled apologetically, as Tornado knew his request was putting Ruby on the spot

Ruby: Oh…

She slowly takes all of that in, realizing that she literally has to have an answer before she goes through the curtain any minute now. If she doesn't give him the answer he wants right this second, he doesn't get the match he wants.

Ruby: Uh… sure. Yeah. Of course. If that's what you want.

Tornado: Are you absolutely sure? I don’t want you to feel obligated to do this.

Ruby: No, it's fine. If you want this match, I'll do it.

Tornado looked relieved.

Tornado: Thank you. I owe you big for this. And don’t worry about refereeing; it’s not hard. I’ve done it dozens of times. And honestly, I can’t think of a better person to call the match than you.

He looked around, as if once again he was realizing exactly where the two of them were, and what Ruby had ahead of her tonight.

Tornado: I’ve taken enough of your time, so I’m going. Thanks again, and good luck.

Ruby: No problem. And, yeah, thanks!

Before turning to leave, Tornado stopped to ask one more question.

Tornado: See you after the show? Once you’re done posing for pictures with the title, of course.

Ruby can't help but smile, breaking out into a small laugh.

Ruby: Of course. I'll see you after the show. Thanks again for the confidence and the support, Anthony.

She places a hand on his arm and gives it a friendly squeeze before turning towards the gorilla position. Taking a deep breath, she gets into position and waits for her cue to hit the ring for the biggest match of her career thus far. We move otherwise backstage.

We open up backstage as Austen Blackwell is tying up his boots. The camera pulls back and he is accompanied by his girlfriend, Mercedes Carter.

Austen: I will be fine babe. I mean it. I have a little daredevil in me. You know that. And I've been in a ladder match before. Granted, it was not as big of a match and the ladder was nowhere nears as tall.

She looks at him as she has an even more worried look on her face.

Mercedes: How tall is the ladder? I don't know, what if you fall again?

Austen looks at her and takes her hand.

Austen: I've been making sure to train enough with a ladder lately. I've taken extra precautions. I will be fine. I promise. No matter what happens, you need to wait back here. Okay?

Mercedes: Even after the match? I'll try to stay back here, I promise to try.

He reaches out for her hand, and takes it.

Austen: Once I am back here, you can worry and fuss all over me. But I promise. I will do everything in my power to be as safe as I can.

She looks at him as she sighs softly. She finally nods her head.

Mercedes: Alright, I will stay back here, but as soon as you are back here, I am fussing over you worse than your mom would.

He laughs.

Austen: I would not want it any other way. But promise me. Even if I get hurt. You will stay back here. Okay?

Mercedes: I promise I will stay back here no matter what AB.

He leans forward and kisses her.

Austen: Thanks babe.

Mercedes: Anything for you babe.

She smiles as she kisses him again.

The cameras return back into the arena.

Main Event

Independence Day Ladder Match

South Bay Championship

Austen Blackwell vs Danni LeBlanc vs Donovan Basch vs Ruby Rose Lance vs Jess Hardy vs Zachary Sears

We open up inside of the arena. The six competitors are already inside of the ring as Mackenzie begins her announcements.

Mackenzie: Ladies and gentlemen, this is your Main Event!

The crowd cheers.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a Ladder Match. The competitors will work to climb a ladder and grabs the championship belt that hangs above to ring, and pull it down. The first to do this will be crowned the first ever South Bay Champion!

More cheers as the cameras pull back showing the title handing. There are three tall ladders. One to the right of the ring, one to the left, and one behind the ring.

Mackenzie: The contenders in this match... Danni LeBlanc.... Austen Blackwell.... Zachary Sears... Jess Hardy... Ruby Rose Lance.... and Donovan Basch!

The crowd goes nuts as Mackenzie exits the ring. Several referees stand on the outside of the ring as there is one inside of the ring that calls for the bell.

DING DING DING

Phoenix: And we are off!

Immediately Zach heads to the ladder in back of the ring. Donovan heads off after him. Austen and Ruby nod to each other and drop out to the right, and are trailed by Jess Hardy. Danni heads out towards Zach as well with Donovan.

Phoenix: And we see them branching off already.

Zach begins to pack the ladder up and tries to get it inside of the ring, but Donovan crashes it hard into Zach with a Big Boot. Danni leaps up and uses a double foot stomp to the ladder on the chest of Sears. Zach holds his chest in pain as Donovan and Danni nod towards each other. They look around to keep an eye on the other competitors as Donovan slides the ladder inside of the ring. Donovan grabs the head of Zach and lifts him up. Using a big powerbomb, he sends Zach's back into the guardrail as a loud crash sound echoes through the arena.

Phoenix: That has to hurt! Listen to the crowd... they are loving it!

Danni throws her arms around the neck of Donovan proud of him, but he remains focused as his eyes stare down at Sears. Around the corner of the ring, we see Ruby and Austen working together to pack the ladder up. Before they can get it onto the ring mat, Jess uses a double dropkick to the ladder as it crashes into the both of them. Austen and Ruby fall to the mat as Jess stands tall. She grabs the ladder and slides it into the ring. With them down, she hurries inside of the ring.

Phoenix: Jess Hardy looking to take advantage!

Jess stands up inside of the ring and begins to set the ladder up. Danni sees this and tries to grab Donovan. He turns as the two of them slide the second ladder inside of the ring and slide in after Jess. Hardy has the ladder setup as she begins to climb the ladder. Danni and Donovan are able to slide into the ring and quickly setup the second latter. Just as Jess reaches the top of the ladder, Danni and Donovan quickly ascend their ladder and begin to reign punches down on Jess. A two-on-one is too much for Jess as they push her and the ladder off as Jess flies off of the ladder as she catches the top rope to her chest and snaps back. The ladder falls against the top rope and settles. This leaves Danni and Donovan both in position. They look at each other, but before they can react Austen and Ruby had slid into the ring and together push the ladder over. Danni and Donovan each fly off and hit the ropes on either side of Jess Hardy as the two ladders clank together.

Phoenix: Rose and Blackwell are working together... but for how much longer?

Before they can do much else, Zach Sears is back into the ring as he uses a double lariat to drive them both down. He grabs Ruby and lifts her up, using a gutwrench powerbomb landing her back on the chest of Austen.

Phoenix: Ouch!

Zach heads over to the two ladders and grabs one, setting it up. He sees Jess Hardy and grabs her. She returns the favor with a rake to the eyes as she uses a STO to drive Zach back down to the mat. Jess sees the ladder as she starts to ascend the ladder. Danni quickly charges forward and catches Jess from under. Danni lifts her up and uses a powerbomb sending Hardy to the mat. Danni quickly heads up the ladder.

Phoenix: LeBlanc looking to take the title!

From over the barricade comes Zane Story!

Phoenix: What is he doing? He and Danni have had issues but he has no place in this match!

Zane quickly heads into the ring and pushes the ladder. It tilts and tilts. Danni rides it as she heads right for the ropes, but is going to overshoot it as she flies up and over and hits the guardrail hard on the outside. Donovan sees this and chases after Zane. Story escapes up the entrance ramp as Donovan is hot on his trail. Meanwhile back inside of the ring, Zach Sears is down. Austen is coming to. Ruby is up in the corner. And Jess Hardy is down. Austen looks over to Ruby as the two of them nod towards each other. They head over to Zach Sears. Ruby Rose Lance slowly lifts him up as Austen heads up to the top rope. He jumps off and lands AB Cutter (Diving Corkscrew Cutter) dropping Zachary Sears hard to the mat. Together, Ruby and Austen roll him outside of the ring. As Ruby turns around, Jess Hardy is waiting for her. Hardy whips Ruby into the ropes as she rebounds Jess uses an arm drag to take her down. Hardy turns back towards Austen, who begins to ascend the ladder.

Phoenix: Blackwell is aiming for the title!

Jess Hardy grabs Ruby and lifts her up. Using her foot, Hardy looks for a foot choke to the throat of Ruby. Jess smirks as Austen looks down and sees his friend being choked. The title is inches away from him, but instead of leans off of the edge of the ladder and looks down.

Phoenix: No! Don't do it Austen! No!

Austen jumps off and uses a HUGE Axehandle to the back of Jess Hardy which breaks up the choke. Ruby falls forward to her knees grabbing her throat in pain. Jess falls to the mat as Austen is holding his legs in pain. Donovan quickly returns to Danni as medical staff are checking on her. It looks like the impact from the guardrail may have cause her in the head.

Phoenix: There is chaos everywhere!

The crowd begins to rise to their feet as they chant and cheer. Zach is down on the outside still in pain. Jess and Ruby slowly rise up to their feet as Ruby sees Austen is down as well. She is not happy with it and takes it out on Jess as she hits The Rose Thorn (Jump Swinging Implant DDT) planting Hardy on the mat. Ruby checks on Austen as he tells her to go for the title. He is down on the mat and it looks like his knee may be in brutal pain from landing hard on the mat. Ruby checks him to make sure he is okay, but Austen waives her to climb the ladder. She nods and does.

Phoenix: This is it!

Ruby Rose Lance slowly climbs the ladder rung by rung. Finally atop of the ladder, she looks down at the carnage as Austen eggs her on. She reaches up and grabs the title, pulling it down.

DING DING DING

Phoenix: She did it!

Mackenzie: Your first ever West Coast Genesis South Bay Champion... she is Ruby Rose Lance!

The show comes to an end as Ruby holds up the title atop of the ladder.
