“The last show before I settle things with Gavin. This has been a long time coming, but the opportunity to fight the New Generation Champion in a non-title match. Sounds great to me. The namesake of the company where I first began. Began my climb to multiple time champion. To Super Falcon Cup winner. Things went down this path a long time ago. I am righting those that wronged me. Kenzie. Trixie. That coward Levi left the company before I could get my hands on him. But now? Weeks away from righting the wrong that is Gavin Grimes. He is the one that made me into this guy. Pushing me to be the bad guy. So I embrace it. I drink it in, maaan.”
A slight chuckle.
“But this week is not about Gavin. Boy I cannot wait thought. I face Caroline O’Hara Burchill this week in Montreal. But there will be no screwjob here.”
Avery smiles as he sits on the edge of the ring. It is being set up, and there are no ropes attached to the poles yet. Avery takes a deep breath in and exhales, ready to continue speaking into the camera.
“I could sit here and state that if the title were on the line, Caroline would lose it. And whatever else. Though I have no clue her thoughts on me, I actually see a little of myself in her. Determined. Her versus the world. And willing to make a title that is not the Heavyweight title the one with all of the eyes from around the world. I respect what you have done to win and keep that title. And I don’t really have anything ill of you to say. I am looking forward to our match as I know I am that much closer to WrestleForce. And yet with WrestleForce, we don’t even know who you are going to be fighting? It is quite sad that you are being so forgotten. Perhaps you should come out and make the match yourself. Do their job for them. Force them to bend to your will.”
He shrugs.
“But that is just me. Who am I though? Some guy that, in a couple of weeks, will be nothing to Devlin Scott and this company. I will be gone and doing my own things. I will cut out a new path for myself. Spread my wings. And achieve greatness. Devlin could not agree to my terms on a new contract, so it is his loss. But that is fine. There is still time for you, Caroline. Don’t allow others to dictate yourself. To dictate your career. Break that glass ceiling. Go above and beyond. Hold that title high. You may not respect me. Or my own path in this industry. But I can respect someone as driven as yourself. Someone that puts it all out there. That puts it on the line and does not give up until she has exactly what she wants. I can respect your game. Inside and out.”
He pauses.
“They say that some people are born champions. While others work to achieve it. I think that the work makes it that much better. And you have worked your way towards earning that success. But success comes with changes. It comes with peaks and valleys. Because over time? We change as people. We evolve. We better ourselves. We reboot.”
He smirks towards the camera.
“Who knows where I will be in six months? Who knows what my own future holds? Our future is not set and we maintain control over it as long as we do not allow others to take control. Make sure that you take the control, Caroline. Keep hold of your own destiny.”

Scene 002
Childhood Home of Avery Miles III
Indio, CA
FLASHBACK
OFF CAMERA
A ten year old Avery Miles III is sitting in the living room as a local promotion comes on the television. It was rare that his father wrestled these days, but Avery was able to see his dad in all of his glory. The local company had signed a deal with a local station.
Inside of the ring, Avery Miles II was flying back and forth. He was fearless and strong; admired greatly by his son at home. Avery’s father jumped off of the corner as he was dropped with a boot. But something went wrong. He landed weird as the cameras cut away for a moment. Avery looked worried for his father. Next to him on the couch, Katherine Miles. His mother looked worried and put her arms around her young son.
“It’s okay Ave. Daddy is okay. Remember what we said? They aren’t really hurting daddy…”
The commentary team heads for a commercial quickly as Katherine is quickly on the phone calling to see if he is okay.
At that moment, Avery knew that his father… his superhero…. Was human. It was a lesson in life. But a lesson that showed even just being a human, that his father could do amazing things. While wrestling may have not been his path in life, he would eventually fall into the family business and do so convincingly.
It was only a matter of time before his natural talent took over.
NGW Tag Team Champion.
NGW Marquee Champion.
IPW Heritage Champion.
GOL Rey de Reyes Champion.
These accomplishments meant a lot. And for some people they were the ultimate goal. The proof of success for a person’s career. Some people would never win more than four titles. And some would kill to have won four. But for Avery? This was simply the beginning.
For now he was ready. Ready to fight Caroline. Ready to fight Gavin. And then onto the next chapter in his life. But was it really the next chapter? What lies ahead for Miles III? It was the end for now, but a new beginning was on the horizon.
