As is normal when you are a registered voter you will at some point in time receive a Summons for Jury Duty. This is the first one I've received since moving to Georgia from California in September 2012.
I am scheduled to start the week of Uu7ly 30, 2018. I have it set up that they will text me informaiton whether I have to show up or not to do the normal sit around and want stuff.
My last three Jury Summons in San Bernardino County in Califoria resulted in sitting around for several hours and then we are done, we can go home, and we will not be subject to being called for Jury Duty again until the next year.
I am not going to take a LOA even if I get selected for a Jury. To be honest I rarely get selected to serve on a Jury anymore with my last one being way back in the mid-1990's in San Diego.
Reasons they don't usually select me, in addition to the attorneys on each side wanting people they feel will vote leaning toward their side, indlude: I am a White male, Retired United States Navy, and I have a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. They usually feel I'm a biased jerk and know too much legal stuff for them to pull a scam on me.
No I am not biased. I apply the facts of the case against what the laws are that pertain to that case. I assure you I am the person you want on your Jury as I will never vote for a Guilty Verdict if I feel there wasn't enough presented to prove the case for the Prosecution. As far as the Defense goes it is "Innocent until proven guilty" when it comes to a Criminal Trial and also here in the State of Georgia, unlike other states in a Civil Trial where you need only 7 Jurors to vote for a Guilty Verdict, Georgia requires, for both Criminal and Civil Trials to have a unanimous verdict to convict otherwise they have to render a Not Guilty Verdict.
So I will be here and doing my promos for my matches.
Again thanks to everyone who invited me to join and who are supporting me in NGW.
