This scene comes up at a bar in Oakland, California. We see Sela-Rica Lark sitting at a table adjacent to two individuals who currently have their backs to the camera. It’s clearly a man and a woman, both with dark hair, the man practically a giant and well-muscled and the woman still rather tall in her own right, but more lithe and athletic.
“Thanks for agreeing to meet with me. I didn’t know who else to turn to.”
The man speaks first, but makes very little movement otherwise. “Of course I would come as quickly as I could. After everything you told my wife, I would’ve felt remiss not to try since you were in the area.”
“I didn’t know who else would believe my story if I tried explaining it to them.”
The woman speaks up. “It’s okay, Sela. Try starting at the beginning and let’s see what’s bothering you.”
“The truth is, it isn’t what is or isn’t bothering me, it’s that I know the truth and it makes me afraid. Afraid of what might happen if I don’t stay.”
There is a pause between the three before the man speaks up again. “Start from the beginning then. And hold nothing back. We’ll help you as best we can.”
Sela takes a moment to compose herself. “The beginning, right. Ever since I told Lucifer how I felt for him I’ve had this conflicted feeling. The kind that can only come from one of confusion. At first, I thought perhaps I didn’t love him, but that wasn’t true. I explored it deeper. I noticed that my feelings were leading to something else. I can’t quite explain it, but I’m not in love with Lucifer, I’m in love with Michael.”
There doesn’t seem to be a reaction from the man or the woman as Sela tells them this. She sighs and continues.
“I don’t know when or how, but this whole time, I’ve taken this persona of a Queen of Hell and… and I know I’m not. It doesn’t matter because it’s like he does provide me everything I could want: passion and love and all the violence and blood I could ask for, but more often than not I don’t think it’s Lucifer giving me these things sometimes anymore.”
Both the man and woman look at each other and nod. “And you feel that this is the reason you can’t leave? You believe Michael will be lost forever?” Sela nods at him. “Sela, I was exactly where you were, but in the opposite position. When I was the Shadow Stalker, before I met back up with Christine, I could feel myself slipping further and further. Christine helped me through all of it. It may have taken awhile, but we finally got where we both needed to be.”
”Don’t give up on what you want Sela. Believe in him, but do what you need to do. We’ve been there, we will support you all the way.”
Sela smiles at them both. “Thanks cousin Gabriel. Christine. I guess I just needed to get it off my chest.”
“And you should tell someone else. Someone else you can trust with this. We were lucky to handle it alone, but you don’t need to.”
“I will. Thanks.”
Gabriel and Christine both stand from their places, Christine showing the bump of being between 6-7 months pregnant. Gabriel takes her hand gently as they look at each other. Gabriel looks back to Sela. “And stay in touch more often. You’re following in my footsteps, so I expect to see something special from you.”
Sela smiles and nods again as the other two leave. Sela pays the check before the scene fades out.
