Dear Father,
How are you doing today? I hope all is well at home. You and mother seemed to be in very good spirits when we all spoke a few days ago. I hope that joy has carried over into today as well.
You are probably wondering why I am writing and contacting you now, this early in the week. Well, it’s more so because this weekend shall be extremely business and stressful. However, no need to worry, I’m good at handling stress.
On Thursday I’ll be facing Aoife Byrne in Proving Grounds. As you know, no competitors can be underestimated. Aoife was hung in the ring and had many high quality matches with some of the best in Proving Grounds. I do not want to get caught with any surprises, therefore, I have been putting in a bit of extra work to ensure that I come out victorious.
The fourth round of the All Female Invitation is also this weekend. My opponent for this round will be Karari Makelah…
Father, you know how tournaments of this nature go. It has been a long and grueling road to Round Four. All the cream has risen to the top; everyone currently left standing truly is the best of the best. And on her road to Round Four, Karari has defeated many quality opponents.
Karari nearly knocked Mercedes out with her bicycle kick in Round One. In Round Two, Karari had a stiff match with Jess Hardy. It looked as if either one could have pulled it out. But in the end, Karari had enough resolve to get the win. And of course, she faced Julianna DiMaria in the final match of Round Three. After another amazing bout, Karari picked up the win. Ms. Karari has proven with every single match why she was invited to this tournament. And she has proven with each match why she is so great.
But as I said before, every wrestler in Round Four is one of the best—that included myself.
Father, I know you have been watching reach round. Look at the opponents that I’ve defeated. The first was Xaria Karloff, one of the most accomplished and distinguished wrestlers in the tournament. Next came Jade Night, a very hungry wrestler wanting to make a name for herself. And after the brackets were shaken up on the fly, I stepped into the ring and defeated the current Proving Grounds Champion, Eliza Valentine.
My road to Round Four has not been easy either, especially not after the shake up. However, I endured. I endured and I thrived.
That’s what I plan on doing in this round as well, father. I must go out there and perform. It is too late in the game for foolish mistakes and slip ups. And of course, it’s too late in too game for diminishment of self-confidence; I cannot go into this match doubting match.
I must remember how I made it this far in the tournament: my skills, my passion, and my Fighting Spirit. I’ll go into this match with no fear and no hesitation.
...Father?
I know I haven’t always been the model daughter. I haven’t always been the daughter you hoped and wished for. I never received that high-paying, fancy corporate job that you and mother so desired for me. And while my time in the sport of professional wrestling hasn’t always been the best of times, I cherish every moment. Even though I may have disappointed you two back then, thank you for allowing me to chase my desires.
Each match I wrestle is in honor of you two. I hope that make you proud; and I hope that I continue to do so.
