One of the Redemption camera crews had come to Gaia in the United Kingdom where she currently resides due to competing for UKWF. They happened to catch up with her and Magdalena Waechter with the rest of The Order in tow.
“Gaia,” shouted the cameraman as he moved in toward her. “Gaia!”
Grendel’s initial response was to attack, but Gaia extended a forbidding arm. Grendel’s gaze took on more of a glare as she stared daggers through Galanos, but obeyed nonetheless. Magdalena seemed uninterested, but glanced back just long enough to see her prospective Soulbreaker approaching the paparazzi. She turned away and left with The Order; Gaia could be left to her own devices.
“Do you have any response to what Kayla Richards said earlier?”
Gaia's steel gaze regarded the camera before her. “Not yet.”
This time, when the cameraman spoke, he was inaudible as he presumably explained it. Gaia leaned in toward the camera long enough to watch what we are left to assume was the video of Kayla's rather peculiar speech. An amused smirk sharpened Galanos' facial features.
“Kayla,” Gaia began, addressing the lens directly, “You’re not the star, and no matter how much your idiotic boyfriend wants to ride your coattails if you were, you won't ever be the star. Unless,” she trailed off, leaving us on edge. Gaia's eyes calmly regarded the eye of the camera as she continued, “unless I let you be one for a night. I have no doubt you will get your shots in. Night Train did at UKWF Summerfest.” She pushed her hoodie back enough to display the staples that ran like railroad tracks down her eyebrow. “That is from a stone being thrown at my head and I still tapped the bitch out. You can be a star, Kayla. You can be one until I decide it's time to end your hopes until next year's AFI. I don't care if you believe you are the only talented person in this whole tournament. Hell, I don't even care if you actually think someone else is the best. There is only one thing that concerns me, and it's not you. It isn't Amy Jo Smyth, Merlot Ayano, or even LAVA.” Gaia's eyes remained glued to the camera lens. “Those are just names. You are just a name. Just like Trixie and everyone else I have beaten in this tournament, you are all just names. My mission is to punish all of you, and the best way to accomplish that is making each of you realize that no matter how tough you think you are, I am tougher than you and your boyfriend combined. So, if you want to be the one to make the mistake of openly admitting to looking past me, fine,” she said with a simple shrug. “But, I recommend you make sure the EMTs are ready to check your pulse after my knee collides with your skull. Then, after they resuscitate you, you can sit down in the front row with Trixie and witness my ascension to not only my dominion over UKWF, but Redemption, too.”
Before the cameraman could say anything to Gaia, she turned on her heels and exited. The cameraman saw on other reason than to cut the feed.
