[July 8th, 2017]
The scene opens up to Megan Rydell inside of a Flex Johnson’s Wrestling Dojo that is located in Los Angeles. She has boxing gloves on and a gray Mickey Mouse tank top on, along with black yoga pants and Nike running shoes. She has someone training with her, wearing the boxing pads on their hands for her to hit. She hits them hard and fast with a flurry of punches and kicks, showing off her variety of moves. She ends it with s spinning kick that knocks the guy down who was holding the boxing pads.
Megan Rydell: “Sorry about that!”
She lets out a laugh before helping her training partner up. She smiles and nods before walking away and taking the boxing gloves off. She notices the camera watching and smirks.
Megan Rydell: “West Coast Genesis. The name is fitting, is it not? You see, WCG is supposed to be a place for people to get their foot in the door. They’re supposed to start here because this is supposed to be the beginning. That’s what Genesis means, right? It’s the origin of something. The original of a story, the beginning of the Bible and for the majority of us here in West Coast Genesis, it’s the beginning of our wrestling careers; at least it’s the beginning of mine. But apparently, there are those who join WCG look for ‘redemption’. And yes, pun intended.”
She smirks and winks at the camera before sitting down on a chair and leaning back to relax a bit.
Megan Rydell: “That’s what brings me to my opponent, Melina WIlson. Oh Melina, how the mighty have fallen, right? You were once a big star in a company called uXw, a place that you held the Prestige Championship. But how long ago was that? I have to ask since your biography doesn’t speak of it, it only speaks of your failed attempts at relationships and having children; which… Correct me if I’m wrong, you ended up bringing up a ton with me anyway?”
Megan rolls her eyes and chuckles.
Megan Rydell: “Seems like that’s all you’re really here for, huh? Who’s the next dick that Melina Wilson can ride? But it seems like God has stricken you with the worst luck. Your first engagement with Ryuji, you two adopted a beautiful baby. But wait, there’s more! You also became pregnant but you suffered a miscarriage in a car accident and then you and Ryuji’s love fell apart. Sad story and seriously, my condolences to you. It’s pretty sad though, that the adopted child couldn’t hold you two together. Now that poor kid is going to have to live with their mommy and daddy separated.”
“But hey, at least you got pregnant again and this time actually had the kid, this time with Kaden Kessler. You named the child Damien, because, well, I guess you’re devil worshippers or something? Then you found another stroke of bad luck as you moved on from Kaden and married Zack Goldman, the failed owner of Honor Wrestling. You would soon divorce Zack and poor Damien died of SID’s. I guess that’s what happens when you get near Kaden Kessler, everything around you becomes infected.”
Megan playfully grimaces as she shrugs.
Megan Rydell: “Maybe I shouldn’t be talking about this stuff. Maybe I shouldn’t be highlighting how your life has been one big steaming pile of shit. But that’s what you want us to know. It’s the information YOU have given us. You gave that bio to West Coast Genesis and not once did it mention who you trained under or your wrestling career, which has been inactive for what, two years? Hey, I’m just going off of the timetable for when uXw closed, where you held a prestige title that wasn’t very… Well, it wasn’t very prestigious. But hey, your claim to fame is leeching off on other people and their names. It’s why your biography starts off with the fact that you’re the cousin of former wrestler, Sabrina WIlson.”
Megan continues to lean back in her chair as she scoffs and shakes her head.
Megan Rydell:”You know what’s the biggest difference between you and I, Melina? That I don’t want or need to have my name and who I’m related to or who I know make me who I am. Yeah, Kenzie is my sister… Yeah, I trained under legends like Blyss Lockhart and Flex Johnson, but none of that matters to me. I’m not going to brag about that shit because they aren’t Megan Rydell, I am! This is about me and I’m doing it my way. Kenzie? She trained at the Phoenix Academy with Ashleigh Powell and she forged her own path. But me? I went to Los Angeles to seek training with Blyss and Flex without even telling Kenzie. I didn’t want her help and I don’t want it now.”
“I don’t want to be Kenzie Rydell’s little sister, I simply want to be Megan Rydell. I will not live in ANYONE’S shadow. Not Kenzie, not Blyss and not Flex. I’m here in West Coast Genesis to not only make myself better, but to make WCG better as well. I want this place to be something looked at as on the same level as Redemption. While this may be a developmental brand, there are still people like Melina and others who have been pros for quite some time. But let me ask you, Melina, why are you here? Are you looking for cheap glory because you don’t think you can hang in Redemption with all of the other so-called veterans? What is it, really?”
Megan shakes her head and rolls her eyes.
Megan Rydell: “Whatever you thought was going to happen for you here in West Coast Genesis, you thought wrong. You thought you were going to get some easy opponent here at the beginning but instead, you got a Rydell. Say what you want about me or my sister, the fact of the matter is that we’re fighters. We come from a family of fighters, a family that never quits or gives up. You’re going to see that when you have to look me in the eyes in that ring and have to tangle with me. The other thing is, I’m the hungriest person on this roster.”
“Nobody is looking to make a statement like I am right now. You see, this isn’t just about becoming the best Rydell in wrestling… It’s about being one of the best wrestlers this sport has ever witnessed. Relationships and family? They come second to me. Wrestling comes first and I’m not afraid to say it. I won’t let anyone walk over me or get in the way of my dreams. I won’t day a little bitch like my sister does, that idiot Adam Sanders, who goes running off and worrying everyone sick just because he’s feeling down about himself. That will NEVER happen to me. If that was my boyfriend, I would shrug my shoulders and say, ‘oh well’, before carrying on about my business.”
“It’s funny, Melina, the only true thing you said about me over Twitter is that I’m nothing like Kenzie at all and that I seem like I’m more likely related to some of the other competitors in this sport. Who were you referring to? Someone like Ashleigh Grimes? A woman who takes no prisoners and has never been pinned before? Or how about Ally Morrow? Maybe even Angelica Layne? Possibly Aurora Knight? Melissa Reeves? Anastasia Hayden? The list goes on and on when it comes to women in this sport who take no fucking prisoners and definitely don’t take any BULLSHIT. But you’re right, Melina, I am much more like those women than I am Kenzie.”
“I love my sister but the difference between us is that while she wants to succeed, she also wants to be well liked. But me? I don’t care. I’m not here to please anyone but myself. I’m not here for anyone else’s goals or dreams… I’m here for my own. This is for me. That’s what separates me from my sister. And while I may disagree with some of the things she does or who she dates, don’t get it twisted… I love her to death and I’m still her biggest fan. So anyone who says anything bad about Kenzie? Tread lightly… because I won’t hesitate to rip your throat out.”
Megan bounces up from the chair and smiles widely before waving to the camera, looking absolutely adorable as she does. She then walks away and the scene fades out.
