Every time I'm fallin’ down
You take the repercussions
Headaches and anxieties
Advancing my frustrations
Rushings of my depression
Sacrifice everything
Waste with me into nothing
Well now you're stuck with me
Stuck with me
Stuck with me
“Greetings, wonderful fans of Redemption Wrestling! My name is Adrien Cochrane, I am here INSIDE the very venue Glory takes place in just a few hours. So welcome to the Verizon Center, all of you!”
Adrien Cochrane sits inside his locker room, a big smile on his face. His is still dressed in his typical street clothes, his wrestling gear likely inside the big duffle bag with a tag hanging from the strap with Adrien’s name on it. Next to his bag is another, the tag reading Stacy Sterling, who had competed earlier in the day for the All Female Invitational being hosted by Redemption Wrestling.
“So, while we are hours away from the big show, I thought I would use this last moment prior to the first bell of the evening, I wanted to go ahead and speak one last time about my match. Don’t worry, this is the last time you’ll have to deal with me blabbering about this match. If we are going to let Kayla speak three times, surely I’m allowed to, right?
“Funny, how there are so many differing opinions on me on one of the teams. For the Destroyers, there is a polarity in terms of how they speak and address us as opponents. Kayla is angry, arrogant, disrespectful, and, worst of all, blind to the abilities of her opponents. Plus, ignorant to the fact that I’ve had an attorney on retainer for a few years. He’s actually pretty good, you should look him up if you need legal help with anything, Kayla. Stephen Nair is his name, twitter handle is @stephennairlaw. Regardless of your opinion of me, he barely pays attention to our industry to care if you’re an adversary to me.
“Coda is the exact opposite. I dunno, if it's because hanging around a mutual friend of ours, has allowed her to see a bit more clearly but Coda speaks as a warrior wanting the fight of her life. She addresses me with acknowledgment of what I’m capable of. I said I was immune to intimidation, something she is damn good at using to her benefit. She agreed. Which is an incredible sign, in my eyes, of what Coda’s ceiling is. She’s not a mindless drone who simply carries out the orders of Kayla and Matthew without putting her own thought into the decisions. She’s loyal to them, something I’m not sure I’ll ever understand. But she is a woman of her own mind and makes her own decisions.
“Coda, I like your approach to this match. I can appreciate someone who is capable of mixing up how they go after a match, attempting to reduce their opponents’ ability to predict what they can do. You want me to prove my strength to you, Coda. Challenge accepted.
“I think we’re a lot more alike that you probably think. Your definition of strength is the same as mine. It’s not about what your biceps can do. It’s about what your heart can do.”
The Dropkick King pats his own heart over his white and blue striped polo shirt. There’s a faint smile on the face of the New Orleans native.
“Another thing I wholeheartedly agree with is something you said near the end of your video. You are someone with limitless potential. You have such a high ceiling and that Young Lions Championship you currently possess is only the beginning. I think you have a bright career ahead of you if you make the right choices and keep working harder and harder to be the best you can be. You’re not a half-witted sidekick. You’re not just someone that the monarchy should be able to just point and expect you to do their bidding. You deserve that Coda. NEVER should you ever let anyone think of you as some sort of wanton, asinine subject who deserves to play second fiddle. You’re the damn Young Lions Champion and deserve respect.
“So, now that I’m done addressing the undeserving subservient half of that team. Let’s speak about something that’s also disappointing but in a completely different manner. RC Tucker broke his silence a little while ago. His address? ‘Isn’t this supposed to be Alechs? What’s this flippy bull now?’”
Adrien stares at the camera for a moment in silence. The crickets from outdoors chirp in the brief moment of silence.
“Tucker. Dude. Please please please please please take this more seriously than that. I would much rather you not speak at all like the Karloffs have done as of the taping of this video. At least then I could imagine you’re not doing these because you’re putting all your energy into preparing for the match by doing some sort of intense training. But you simply shrug and wonder why Alechs isn’t in this match, completely oblivious to the suspension of Honey’s usual tag team partner. Have you not been paying attention, RC? These events that led to this took place on Glory. Straight up announced by our new general manager on the air. Not to mention the press release of the show’s line up that gets advertised to generate more ticket revenue for the company, even explaining what the heck Adrien Cochrane is doing on the match. Plus...you know, all the videos done by me, Honey, Kayla, and Coda kinda broke down what was going on. So yes, Honey is pretty much stuck with me in this match. She’s very positive about being stuck with me, but from what I’ve gathered, she’s just a big ball of positivity similar to my girlfriend, Stacy.
“You’re better than that, RC Tucker. I know you are. You’ve won matches. You are a capable competitor. But you need to be someone who can give this your undivided attention to surpass being just capable. Your partner, The Jew Blazer, is clearly going through some stuff and needed you to help him by being a leader and helping push your team to greatness. I’m disappointed, but you know what? It’s not the end of the world. This could be a learning experience. Who knows, perhaps RC Tucker will take this lesson and suddenly everything clicks. Hey, it’s how it happened for me! This could be the turning point for RC Tucker’s career where he suddenly takes this seriously and takes Redemption Wrestling by storm! A championship for you is within the realm of possibility for you, RC. But you have to do the work to obtain it. You gotta earn that W. Otherwise, you’ll be getting a few more lessons until you do. I hope to see the RC Tucker that does that. I really do.
“Well, none of my other opponents have really spoken about the match. As of the taping of this video anywhere. I said earlier, Jew Blazer is clearly got things outside the ring going on so I’m willing to give him a pass. Neither of the Karloffs has said anything yet outside of a few tweets between me and Xaria. These three are good people in my eyes that I don’t really need to hear them speak about the match to know that, if our paths cross, they will give me a fight as hard as they can and in an honorable manner.”
Cochrane looks down at his phone, flashing him the time.
“Well, I better start getting ready for the show. I think we are mere minutes away from Josh Kennedy versus Johnathan Drake. That match should be exciting. Hope everyone enjoys the show.”
Adrien winks at the camera as it fades to black.
Hand up your soul to my wrist
And I'll vow my trust to you
Moving here I always thought
I realized you've imagined
Rushings of my depression
Sacrifice everything
Waste with me into nothing
Well now you're stuck with me
Stuck with me
Stuck with me
