OOC: Shorter than I would've wanted, but the dreaded beast known as writer's block came at me hard.

It was early in the morning, and the sun had just barely begun to lighten up the sky. A slim sliver of silvery-purple light peeked through the curtains of the hotel room. Aurora lay there, staring at the ceiling as she sighed. She turned to her side, watching with a smile as Damon lay beside her, still sound asleep. Sitting up, she leaned over his face, gently kissing him on the top of his head. Her smile broadened as she watched Damon shift in his sleep, the faint hint of a smile across his lips as Aurora carefully slipped out of bed.
Aurora: No need to wake him...
She slipped into the bathroom, looking up into her reflection in the mirror. The massive case of bedhead caused her to sneer at her reflection before grabbing her hairbrush and making sense of the messy blonde strands.
Aurora: Bleh...
She turned on the water in the bathroom sink, sticking her hands under the faucet. As cold water ran over her skin, she cupped her hands, bringing the water up to her face in a splashing motion.
Aurora: Well, it’s not coffee, but it’ll do for now....
She sighed, then went silent as she heard a loud, heavy yawn coming from the bedroom.
Aurora: Speaking of coffee, I might as well get a pot started.
Silently padding out of the bathroom and through the bedroom, she walked into the living room of the suite, and the small counter that served as the so-called kitchenette. She stared at the Keurig single-cup coffee maker and cringed. The only flavor provided was hazelnut.
Aurora: Fucking foot-stank bullshit; GROSS!
Damon’s Voice: Arguing with the coffee maker again, Harley? [/color]
Aurora jumped as the tattooed hands of her husband slipped around her waist, pulling her own body against his. He rested his chin in the crook of her neck, a small patch of stubble tickling as it brushed against her skin.
Aurora: You missed a spot, Puddin’... right under your chin.
Damon picked his head up, running a hand under his chin until he found the aforementioned offending patch of stubble.
Damon: Son of a bitch... sorry, Harley. So... gonna make some coffee?
Aurora: I was, but there’s only one flavor, and it’s hazelnut! Remind me to never let Jason handle any special requests for hotel accommodations.
Damon chuckled as he walked back into the bedroom, sitting down on the foot of the bed. Aurora followed him in, but instead of sitting beside him, she headed back toward the bathroom.
Damon: So what’s the plan?
Aurora: The plan? I’m going to get a shower, get dressed, then go out and find some coffee that doesn’t taste like it’s been filtered through Jason Perry’s gym socks! And then, I’m hitting the gym. I’ve got the All Female Invitational to think about, plus my match against Gavin Grimes, so I figured I’d get an early start.
Damon: Hmm... sounds like fun. Mind if I tag along?
Aurora: As long as it doesn’t mean I have to wait for you to shower....
Damon: Well, I can think of one way to avoid that....
Aurora: Damon Marius Graves....
Damon flashed a sly smirk at his wife, arching his eyebrows. Aurora pursed her lips, playfully shaking her head as she slowly walked toward the shower. Chuckling darkly, Damon followed her into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.

Inside the complex that served as the venue for that night’s episode of Glory, Aurora Graves found herself meandering amongst the equipment. Crossing a lit-up catwalk that led past the stationary bikes toward the weight benches, she slowed her pace, running a hand along the catwalk’s brushed metal railing.
Aurora: It’s been said that this is a match that should have happened back in the days of NGW, when my opponent, Gavin Grimes was NGW’s Unified Champion. Some people even went as far as to say that I was probably going to be among the few people in NGW capable of prying that belt from Gavin’s fingers. When NGW shut down, I had thought that the prospect of such a match had gone flying out of the window.
I guess I was wrong. Funny how fate works sometimes, eh?
She smirked as she walked to the end of the catwalk, just a few steps away from the weight benches.
Aurora: You know, Gavin, you never really were all that high on my list of favorite people. From the moment I arrived in NGW, you seemed to go out of your way to disrespect me. I mean yeah, there was that whole Angelz of Destruction thing, and maybe we did come after you all at once, but that was just business. At the time, Damon and I were fresh on the scene, and just looking to make an impact. You just happened to be the one holding the top prize. It was never really anything personal.
And now, in just a few hours from now, I’ll already have one match tonight under my belt, but that will just be the warm up for yet another match that could very well serve as the main event of a Pay-Per-View. Tonight, we’ll finally be able to answer the question:
“Can Aurora Graves beat Gavin Grimes?”
Aurora held up her hands as she stared up at the ceiling, spreading her hands over her head as if framing an invisible marquee.
Aurora: Sure, there was a time when I know you would snap back almost immediately with “no way in hell,” but the Aurora Graves you faced off against in that tag team match we had all those months ago – seems almost like an eternity, really – is a far cry from the one you’re about to face off against tonight. Since that last match, I’ve kept pushing myself. I’ve gotten faster, stronger, and better than I was last year. And while that’s not to say that you haven’t done the same, I’d at least like to think that you won’t expect this to be a repeat of our last confrontation.
She paused near the end of a nearby weight bench as her husband Damon emerged from the drinking fountain that stood against the far wall.
Aurora: Some things haven’t changed between us, Gavin. To this day, you’re still about as far removed from my list of favorite people – both in and out of this business – as one can get, but I respect what you can do in that ring. Do I expect you to hold that same amount of respect for me? In an ideal world, yes, but you know me...I’m not the type of girl to hold my breath over such a thing. But there is one thing I WILL guarantee will happen tonight. That bell will ring, and we’ll lock up, one on one, and we WILL give that crowd the fight that they should have seen under the NGW banner, when two of the company’s final champions face off, this time, not with anything on the line other than maybe some bragging rights. I say this will all sincerity, Gavin...
She sat down on the end of the weight bench as Damon slipped a few weights onto each end of the barbell, waiting until Aurora gave him the signal that he had added enough weights.
Aurora: Good luck tonight...
She looked at the weights already on the barbell. They added up to 150 pounds. She nodded her head.
Aurora: I know I can do better than this, but I guess it doesn’t hurt to start light. I can always add more later...
Damon: Alright. Let’s get started....
Aurora took position beneath the barbell, gripping the bar as her husband helped her remove it from its stand...
