Cameras open in Jonathan working out at the /Redemption/WCG facilities. He is currently benchpressing under the supervision of one of the trainers. Jack is watching carefully as Jonathan continues several reps before Helping him set the bar down.
Jonathan - How many sets was that now?
Jack - That was your 8th. How many more do you want to go?
Jonathan - A few more, I've been focused on more than just wrestling lately and I want to make sure I am ready for my match this week.
Jack - Yea I’ve heard.
Jonathan raises his eyebrow as he looks back at Jack.
Jack - Hey man I’m not one to judge or say anything. I just know the life in the spotlight can get pretty hectic the brighter it gets.
Jonathan - Tell me about it. Last match I held my own against a Champion but I didn’t win. This week I am hoping to get a win.
Jack - This business can be tough. Whats this week look like for you.
Jonathan - Its that Josh Kennedy kid. I say kid only inasmuch as Im a kid. I have checked out some of his matches and he has already far surpassed my experience. Its going to be tough.
Jack - Ah, that why you’ve been in here so much lately?
Jonathan - Yea anything I can do to get an edge. Extra time, extra film, I am willing to push myself as far as I can go. I know Josh is going to push me so I know I need to puch myself further so I can survive. I've faced some tough people in my career but its going to be barely enough. I need to be ready.
Jack - Well this is the best place for it. Redemption has put together a stellar training staff here.
Jonathan - I know. That’s the main reason I have moved down here. The fact you guys are available as much really makes this the best place for me right now. Its close enough to my other fed that after Glory it just makes the travel so much easier.
Jack - Yea I’m sure we are the main reason.
Jonathan - Yes. Even though people don't believe it, or want to believe it. We are just friends, right now Career is first, it has to be.
Jack laughs.
Jack - Sure, whatever you say. Like I said I'm not here to judge, well except for your skills in the ring. So after Glory taking any time off for the Holiday?
Jonathan - A few days, heading back to Portland right after. Still have to finalize the move down then fireworks with friends then back here to get back to work.
Jack - Sounds like fun. Ok let’s get you in the ring to work on some technique and your technical skills. I just got a new book and its got some unique insights into how to train.
Jonathan - Sounds like fun. It will be nice to try something new especially if it can give me an edge. Gotta stay focused.
