-Damn wife decided to get a new puppy. We already have two dogs I said. We don't have the time or space at our house for another dog, especially one that's only 2 months old! I'm barely at the house enough and she has her own job. She saw the dog on the Chicago Humane Association Facebook page though and said that she just wanted to stop by and look.
-That's what she said about the last one.
-She loves puppies. Everyone loves puppies.
-I didn't want to go though because then I'd fall in love and not want to leave without it. I have a soft spot for dogs. It's one of the reasons why I can never watch one of those sad Sara
McLanhan, In The Arms of An Angle, dog commercials. Breaks my heart every time I see that commercial. Starting to get a tear in my eye now just thinking about it.
-Snap out of it Chris! It's promo time. Need to get that mean face going! Need to get my cool. Need to…….
-And then I look down and I see this little face looking back up at me…..
-……….how can you get into character when you got a face like his looking back at you? You can't.
-Screw it…..I'm just going to start this promo. What ever happens, happens. So standing inside my study in the outer skirts of a Chicago, Illinois…. I begin the promo.
Chris Constantine: “Since day one of stepping foot into Redemption, myself and Jack have been committing this unspoken law where you don't call out your fellow wrestlers gimmick or lack of wrestling skills to the masses. Where you don't call out someone's back story or how they're all talk and no action in that ring. It's a sin that many of the “wrestlers” don't care to much about.
Every time we step into an arena, they all give us those looks of wanting to kill us. The gimmicks. The sports entertainers. The models. The part timers. The cosplayers. The fakes. The frauds. The people who just don't belong. We've called them out. We've called them out by name. We looked them straight in their faces and called them out in front of the millions of people that watch.
And each and every time what do these so called athletes do?
They lose. They get beaten. They get torn apart and lay broken in the middle of the ring with everyone watching as a witness that we were right…..and that they were wrong.
Since coming to Redemption of January of this year, Jack hasn't faced anyone worthy of his talent and or skills and it has showed because Jack hasn't been pinned or submitted in almost half a year now. No one has been able to out wrestle him. No one has been able to out strike him. No one has even been able to dominate him.
But finally……finally the head people at Redemption have finally done the right thing and given Jack an opportunity. An opportunity against the best of the best here in Redemption. Jack has been pleading…….has been asking for an opportunity to be in the ring with the likes of Shields, Grimes, and Cochrane….the so called best this company has to offer…..and prove that Jack, a 21 year old wrestling phenomenon, can and will beat them and prove that Jack is part of the now and the future of the wrestling industry.
Thats all Jack has ever asked and the only thing Jack has ever wanted……all these frauds and amateurs that management has thrown Jacks way……they have been nothing but waste of Jacks skills and capability and will not help him improve at all.
But after a half a year of being with Redemption, Jack finally has an opportunity to show everyone what he's capable of in that ring as he faces off against The Heavy Weight Champion of Yujiro Fujiwara in singles competition.
Now I know what you're thinking. I'm going to run Yujiro down. That I'm going to call him a sports entertainer. That the guy isn't worthy of Jacks time and that Jack is going to man handle him like Jack has man handled everyone else that has come across Jacks path since coming to Redemption. That's what you want me to say right?
Well I'm not. And neither is Jack. See Jack is pumped for this match. Jack wants this match. He's been looking forward to this match since day one. He's looking forward to this match because it's actually going to be a wrestling match that will finally test his skills and see where he matches up with the best of the best here in Redemption. Because right now, Yujiro is the top of the mountain. He has that Heavy Weight Title. He has the main gold here in Redemption….and he has it because he has earned it….unlike so many of the other champions here in Redemption.
Jacks looking forward to this match because just like Jack, Yujiro trained in a Dojo over in Japan. Just like Jack, there's wrestling in Yujiros blood. I knew Yujiros dad and grandpa when I did a little stint over in Japan back in my wrestling days. Yujiros old man had some of the loudest chops in Japanese wrestling back in his hay day. And Grandpa Yujiro, he'd beat the crap out of you if you looked at him side ways. Got a scar on my right bicep because I didn't hold a door open for him.
-Had to have fourteen stitches on that tear. Almost ended my wrestling career. I learned my lesson that day, leave doors open to all Asian wrestlers.
Chris Constantine: “Most importantly Yujiro……..you have the one thing that Jack and everyone else here wants….and that's the Heavy Weight Title. Every other title that's here in Redemption……nothing but participation trophies. You have the one thing that everyone else wants and because of that….you have a big old bullseye on your back. And you have that title, not because of some stupid gimmick like Shields had with the whole king get up. You aren't a sports entertainer like Burchill. You're not even a model like Trixie. You…..just like Jack…..are a professional wrestler and because of that……Jack respects you.
And even though the title isn't on the line Yujiro, Jack is going to give it his all because for you to be the best, you have to beat the best…..and you Yujiro…..you are the best at this very moment and because of that……Jack will give you his all plus more…..and I can only hope you will do the same because if you don't……you might just end up like everyone else that has ever fought Jack one on one…….broken.”
-Out of the corner of my eye I see the little pup snuggling up underneath one of my chairs.
-Need to finish this up fast because I don't know how much longer I can withstand this cuteness. God I'm glad this is all in my mind and no one else can hear or even read this…………
(Editors Note: See what I did there?)
Chris Constantine: “July 2nd in Washington D.C. If you want to watch two individuals roll around in a ring and act like two chickens with their heads chopped off…..go ahead and watch Mason Moore and Blair Kivisto fight one another for the participation trophy that is the Genesis title…..then go ahead and tune into that garbage.
If you want to be entertained by a bunch of gimmick and sports entertainers who don't know the difference between a wrist lock and an ankle lock, go ahead and watch the tag team scramble.
But if you want to watch a professional wrestling match where two individuals actually know what their doing in that ring and will give you an actual fight…..then tune into the Jack Tillman and Yujiro Fujiwara match and marvel what it means to be professional wrestling.”
-With that, end scene.
