~Let’s Play With The Fans - June 17, 2017: On Camera~
“Let's go ahead and let the fans speak on my side shall we?”
The scene fades in outside the Wells Fargo Center to show a mass of people gathered around none other than The Number One Bitch herself. Her Genesis Championship laying over her shoulder, the crowd being somewhat quiet for what was going on.
“As you can tell, I'm putting some of my time to use. Here early for a signing because let's face it, without fans where would I be right now? So I'm going to give them a chance to speak for me. Not have them write in letters to post on a website, not give them homework with the best essay getting a reward. So, having said that, this young man right here is Phil. Hello there.”
Blair turned to look at the younger gentleman standing next to her, excitement written all over his face as he looked at her.
“I love you…”
“...ok Phil, what do you think of the match coming up?”
“There's no doubt in my mind that you're going to win it and retain your title. Trixie's fans think she's the underdog in all this but all everyone's been doing since this started is voting against you. Not a single one of them even thought you had a chance at winning the belt to begin with. You've already proved them wrong on that account.”
Blair nodded her head a bit.
“Her fans keep bringing up her title wins, how amazing she is in the other companies she works for. They even go as far as saying you're not amazing because you don't fight in a bunch of different places at a time. Trixie’s fans seem to look down on that fact, making it look like a bad thing but how bad is it really that Blair is choosing to set her focus on one thing at a time instead of scatter herself all over the place. That’s how you get injured, that’s how you shorten your career, that’s how you wear yourself out before every match. Maybe that’s why the ‘oh so great Trixie’ could only beat Blair, the ONE TIME she did, by holding her tights.”
“Oh snap…”
“You like that didn’t you?”
Phil winks at Blair causing her to laugh.
“Alright Phil, that’s enough from you. Let’s see if we can get another one of these amazing people up here.”
Phil stepped back into the crowd after flashing the camera a peace sign. Blair looks over her fans, all trying to get a shot at coming up. Finally, she spots a timid looking older female, wearing a Divine Congregation shirt. The sight caused her to look again for a moment, wondering if she was seeing that right before reaching out to the woman.
“How about you? You want to come up and speak?”
“Ya, sure.”
The woman stepped forward, with a bit of a shy smile.
“Who might you be?”
“My name’s Carol.”
“And just how long have you been following my career, Carol?”
The woman looked at Blair with a bit of a smirk, seeming to step out of her shell slightly.
“Since pretty close to the beginning…”
“Well, the floor is yours.”
Carol looked at the camera, clearing her throat some before saying what she wanted to.
“Look, we all appreciate the history lesson on Trixie. Almost all of her fans continuously bring up how she took down someone heavier, stronger and supposedly better than her fairly. That’s great and all but if that’s the highest point y’all can come up with there’s a problem. If you have to continuously use that in your argument against our Number One Bitch then you seriously need to rethink your approach. I’ve watched this woman take out her own flesh and blood when she needed to.”
Carol stopped for a minute to look at Blair, as if to see if she was crossing a line but Blair seemed a bit interested in what she was going to say, giving Carol a nod to continue.
“Blair Kivisto has faced a bunch of challenges in her career. Her family has went after her head to the point where she fought back. Her own brother’s career was ended at her hands when she crushed his windpipe with a steel chair in the middle of a ring. Her sister, Court, decided to mess with her not long after that incident and before Blair could go for her she ran away. Her youngest sister ran from her. Those are two moments I can think of that goes to show how much Blair throws herself into this business, how much she values what she does. She doesn’t stop no matter who you are and what you threaten to do to her. She’s one of the toughest women I’ve ever had the pleasure of watching in this business and if you need proof to that let’s continue on her career.”
Carol took a moment, thinking over the next thing she wanted to say, pointing down to her shirt.
“Divine Congregation, this woman standing next to me created one of wrestling's most dominant stables. She gathered up the people she held the close and together they became a force to be reckoned with. All of them willing to follow her into battle without her really needing to convince any of them. During this time Blair held onto the Universal Championship, the top title the fed had to offer. While holding that title down she put together a team to combat the threat of The Horsemen, headed by Pretty Ricky Stanton. This team that she put together held every singles title the federation had to offer. To the point where the owner of the company refused to let them go after tag gold. HE PUT HIS FOOT DOWN ON GIVING THEM MORE GOLD! Has Trixie ever been stopped like that? Has anyone ever came out and told Trixie she was too powerful and couldn’t go for any more titles? That’s what? Three events I can recall?”
“Sounds about right to me…”
“Should I add a fourth? I’m going to add a fourth.”
Blair kept back from Carol, a bit shocked by the sudden change in her after she started talking.
“Speaking of Pretty Ricky Stanton, has Trixie ever targeted the thing someone literally made their money off of? In a hardcore match for the same Universal Championship Blair told Ricky she was coming for his Pretty Boy status. She did exactly as she said, the night of the match she ran a cheese grater along the Pretty Boy’s face. Shredding his skin… Do you know what it took for her to stop after she won that match? Her teammates had to come down and pull her away from Ricky so the decision wasn’t overthrown. She wanted to make a statement and she made it. Can Trixie put that much dedication into making a statement when needed? Does she have as much dedication as this woman has proved that she has? I think the answer to that is probably no. She focuses on those title reigns more than she focuses on making an impact. Think that sums up what I have to say.”
Without waiting for Blair to step back in Carol stepped back into the crowd, Blair seems to be a bit lost in memories for a minute before shaking her head.
“Honestly, I don’t talk about my past for a reason. I’m not ashamed of it, I’m pretty damn proud of it but it doesn’t define me. People grow and change, this business grows and changes. The future that you’ll make in this business doesn’t rely on the things you’ve done in the past, it’s defined by what you do in the here and now. Things change too much to bank your life on what you’ve done previously, sure it helps establish you but at the end of the day, it doesn’t mean that you’ll win whatever you have in front of you. Everyone has off days, everyone has times where they’ll lose to someone they should have won against. The smallest mistake can make or break you no matter how established you are. The thing is if you can beat someone stronger, heavier, bigger than you and you want to use that as a reason why you’re going to beat me this time… Well, you’ve had three chances so far and the only time you managed it was by holding my tights to get the three count. Perfect example of why what you have done doesn’t mean shit. I’ve been the one you can’t get past in this story, but I’m not better than you, right? I’m not a worthy challenger considering everything you’ve done before. I mean, jesus christ, I’m a fucking rookie compared to you right?”
Blair laughs out, shaking her head.
“Trixie’s fans go as far as bringing up my loss to Jacob Daniels… as if she’s even in the same league as him. I’ve faced the man, yes. I’ve lost on every account, yes, but there’s a big goddamn difference between facing Daniels and facing Trixie. Daniels never needed to cheat or a low blow to beat me. The man is a fucking beast. You need to go into that ready for anything and even then, chances are, you're not ready to face that challenge. If you can manage to beat it, hats off to you but the odds aren’t good at all. He’s been, as much as I hate to say it, one of the toughest matches I’ve had in the most recent years. Possibly since my career started. Trixie doesn’t even compare. Did that ever stop me from taking on the challenge though? No… I went at it with all I had every fucking time. No matter how many times he knocked me down I got back up and faced it again, but hey… if Trixie’s fans have so much faith in her, that she’ll do better than I did, why not step out and challenge the man? I’m sure it’d end oh so much better for her.”
Suddenly, Blair shut her mouth tightly, holding back the laughter that wanted to follow her statement.
“Honestly people, what's worse? Tapping out to a strong competitor that you know is going to be a challenge or being knocked the fuck out by someone you think isn't worthy of being in the same ring as you? Let's go ahead and talk about owning up to shit shall we?”
Blair reaches up and runs a hand through her green hair, the crowd around her silent at this point, trying to take in every word she has to say.
“My run in IPW was shit but everyone I faced still came out and praised my ability to keep up with them. Gavin Grimes admitted to me giving him an amazing fucking fight right here in Redemption. I was hand picked by Jacob Daniels in IPW for his team to face NGW even with my shit record there. We didn't win that match but I was the last motherfucker standing on that team. My run in Pride was good until the company closed, one loss out of the matches I took part in. Let's look over my time in Redemption, give a bit more of an insight there shall we?”
“I came here with Joseph Setala, our goal to take the tag division by storm. Do something we hadn't done in our careers yet. When my life crumbled I fucked that up and instead of it getting me fired Devlin threw me back into singles competition. My first match being the four way for the Genesis Championship… Let's face it, I'm not going to count the night that I was counted out because I got thrown out of the damn arena. In that four-way, I won. Against all fucking odds I won and instead of Kayla or Mason Moore getting the next shot it was you. The woman that decided the only way she was going to win that title back was by holding tights. So yes, I called you trash, I had every right to call you trash because when you have to go to those lengths to beat someone that you claim is beneath you, do you really deserve to be considered anything but?”
Blair let out a sigh.
“Trixie fans want proof of me being better than her. Claiming I haven’t given any proof to the claim but Trixie has proved to be better than me in every way… Well, I guess it’s easy to be blinded by someone you love right? I have done nothing but give proof as to why I claim to be better. I proved it when I won the four-way, I proved it when Trixie had to hold my tights to get the win over me, I proved it when I knocked Trixie out for the ten count in the Last Woman Standing match at Wrestleforce. Please, give me more useless information about how dominant she is in other federations. Please, keep telling me how she’s fought all odds this time and shown that she’s the better competitor. Keep ignoring the fact that you guys are backing someone that has failed to really better me three times now, someone that failed to win her last match at Union Battleground against a fresh-faced rookie while I won my first match in Proving Grounds. I’m really interested in how many different ways everyone can continue to discredit my recent success based on the past that I’ve been changing here lately. The fact is, no matter how much information you give someone, no matter how much digging they do, they are only going to come out with the facts that best line up against you, the facts that suit their needs. I’m sorry I don’t feel a need to come out and boast about my past accomplishments, that I don’t feel the need to talk about my title reigns because at the end of the day… all those things came to an end eventually only proving you can’t control whatever your fate may be.”
“Trixie is on notice, I’ve run her to busting her ass to try to prove me wrong. I’ve lit a fire under her ass to reach a level of motivation she hasn’t had up until this point and even still, it won’t be enough. I don’t give a damn that she’s beat the current Heavyweight Champion, there’s no telling what would happen if I ever went against him because I never faced him. I don’t give a damn about her past accomplishments because it's pretty clear she doesn’t give a damn about mine. What this comes down to is that ring, in Philly at Glory and me standing over Trixie, ONCE AGAIN, proving that I’m the better competitor. The B.L.A.I.R. Express hurts a lot fucking more than a goddamn kick… and if you want to play with kicks maybe I should end it with a knee between her fuckin eyes, it’s not like it’d do any more damage than what’s already there… Now if you’ll excuse me my lazy, social media addicted, time wasting ass has a fan signing to get back to.”
The fans behind Blair began to cheer as the Number One Bitch raised her hands high in the air, flipping the camera off as the scene faded out to black.
