(OOC: A bit of a garbage RP, but I figured it was kind of necessary to explain a little about Gaia. There should be more to follow as long as I make it past my rounds. Good luck to everyone.)
“I cannot wait to silence both of them, but, this weekend, they are not my concern,” Gaia informed no one in particular, or so it seemed, as she spoke to the darkness. “I have an arduous journey ahead of me and a destiny to fulfil.” There was seemingly no answer, but Gaia Galanos seemed satisfied with what was said as she turned and walked away from the mass which was void of any light. Upon closer inspection, one could see that there may have been someone standing there or was that just the darkness playing tricks?
Ever since turning on her tag team partner, Night Train Ayano, the former World Champion and UK Tag Team Champion had been on what some may consider a downward spiral into darkness herself. But, if you asked her? She would haughtily tell you that she had become enlightened. If you questioned her reason for attacking her partner? She would reply that Night Train had brought it upon herself.
To say that Gaia’s enlightenment had been the downfall of her wrestling career would be a fallacy though. Truth is, she had re-ignited the flame that had allowed her to win the GPW World Championship and the UWL Queen of Wrestling Championship, a title Lava’s friend, Flame Puppy, craved once upon a time just before her abrupt disappearance from the wrestling world. It seemed as though Lava felt like Gaia still owed Flame Puppy something or perhaps Lava herself? But, she was just as mistaken in that assumption as Flame Puppy was in assuming she had any chance in hell or on earth of ripping the Queen of Wrestling title from her fingers.
As Gaia began hitting a bag, she allowed her mind to wander as it often did when she was training. Ironically, it helped her focus more by doing this. If she could visualize someone on that punchbag, she could train just as she would fight within the confines of the squared circle, but it wasn’t Lava’s turn yet. Her crosshairs were set on Evelyn Kuller of 2CW. Due to her exiling herself mostly to the United Kingdom these days, Gaia was only vaguely familiar with the name, but she had done her share of research to ensure that she wouldn’t somehow lay a goose egg against her opponent. After all, if the women in this tournament didn’t believe in themselves, they probably wouldn’t have joined the tournament in the first place.
Why had Gaia joined though? A question for the ages. In singles competition in the UKWF, she had been unstoppable. In NKP and SSWA, she had been a dominant World Crown Champion, defeating the monster Nem in the process of winning it. The simple answer was she wanted to carry that dominance over to Redemption too. If she won the tournament, she would stay until someone proved they could defeat her. One could say she thought of the opportunity as being the Queen of the Mountain.
In order to take the Mountain though, she had a long list of names across the wrestling landscape standing in her way. Some of which she had already defeated such as Jacqui Monroe and Lowri Moss. Others she had seen in the ring before such as Amy Jo Smyth. But, what intrigued her the most was Lava. Lava had accepted Gaia’s proposal to make their match, provided they both made it to the Semi-Finals, a mixed martial arts rules match. That only threw fuel on the fire that already burned within the dejected fighter’s soul. It didn’t matter if she had to knockout, tapout, pin, or even injure her opponents, she would make to Lava, and she would dismantle her just like she did Flame Puppy a few years back.
But, first, Evelyn Kuller… This time a roundhouse kick rocked the bag with deadly force.
