Once you were done browsing the web, you decided it would be a good idea to check YouTube. As you began to search the website for something that would catch your attention, you noticed something new. WrestleForce was coming up and as a dedicated Redemption Wrestling fan, you excitedly clicked the thumbnail that showed Coda at the forefront.
After watching a short Geico commercial, you swiftly clicked the skip button.
As the video began, you saw Coda standing on a treadmill with earbuds firmly in her ears. Blocking out the excessive outside stimulus that came from the noisy gym around her, the young Korean glanced down at the controls and began walking forward on the machine at its slowest setting.
"WrestleForce."
The word rolled off her tongue with ease and yet her facial expression changed little.
"I am pleased to know Devlin Scott has followed through with the suggestion I have given him. The match I will have against Mason Moore will include no disqualifications. I could not be more thrilled."
Despite the fact that she said she was thrilled, it was a little unnerving for you to see that the expression to match the words was distinctively absent.
"How did this begin? Do you remember? Let us think back to the days where Mason Moore and I got along well."
For a microsecond, Coda's expression looked disgusted in an over-exaggerated way.
"I insulted him every once in a while to entertain myself, however, I was under the presumption that it was simply our way of communicating. He insulted me and I insulted him. Occasionally, we would have agreements and I even remember telling him on one occasion that he annoyed me less than most of the people in the immediate vicinity of social media. This was a compliment. This was our 'friendship.'"
She elongated the word relationship in a way that could easily be construed as having air quotes without the gesture.
"Mason took advantage of this when he mistook me for another hapless floozy so mesmerized by the sight of his muscles that I would suddenly resort to waking up in bed with him. Just as I was beginning to respect the man as a capable athlete, he demeans me in the most uncomfortable way possible."
As Coda presses a single button on the treadmill interface, her speed begins to increase a little.
"Is it any wonder why I do not like many people?"
As she scratched the side of her face, Coda kept running at a quicker pace.
"I lost respect for him. He wanted to see me as a subservient woman destined to fulfill his idiotic desires so I chose to see him in a new light. I chose to demean him as a response. I let Mason's blood stain Devlin Scott's carpet. I intend to make sure everyone in Redemption Wrestling understands that Mason Moore is a parody of the sport, a caricature of every person who ever wanted to be a wrestler, a disgusting exaggeration of every person who ever lifted a weight. He is a fitness model. He posts nearly naked pictures of himself on a weekly basis. He is a male version of Courtney Steele with half the talent."
"Anyone who knows Courtney Steele knows that this is pathetic."
Visible sweat began to trickle down the porcelain skin of her arms as she sped up the treadmill a little more.
"This is what happens when you choose to disrespect me. This is what happens when you are so full of yourself that you believe that everybody with a pulse is suddenly attracted to you because you are a muscle-bound freak. It is delusional. It is pathetic. I truly feel bad for anyone truly smitten with you beyond the way you look. It is a matter of time before your arrogance and your mislead delusions force them to leave on their own accord."
As Coda speaks in that almost monotone voice of hers, she somehow still shows passion for the subject matter right behind the surface. You can see a small spark in her eyes, an uneasy hatred for the man she was talking about.
"When I look at him, I see a fool so overcome with bravado and stupidity that I wonder what will happen when I inevitably beat him at the biggest PPV Redemption Wrestling has to offer. He will surely make excuses. He will call it a fluke, refer to my victory as luck. He will absent-mindedly pick a single aspect of the match and inflate it in such a way that makes him seem irrevocably better when in reality, it is the desperation of a boy who desperately wants to be taken seriously. It is the actions of a little kid holding onto a single positive facet of the day to claim that he was the best so his friends and family can pat him on the back after the failure."
"Are you starting to understand the kind of man I am dealing with? Are you starting to comprehend the fact that Mason Moore is a sorry excuse for a human being that exists solely to spout rhetoric about the way he looks? All he does is attempt to convince everyone that he is more talented than he is in reality. It is pathetic."
A small smirk crossed her expression while she kept on running. Her conservative tank top clung to the back of her neck, sweat pouring out of her pores as she ran with a stoic expression.
"I can see it now. Mason Moore is truly the male version of Courtney Steele. The two are equally annoying and equally insufferable."
As she pressed the up arrow on the treadmill controls again, Coda was now in a full blown sprint while she eyed the camera in front of her.
"I will stain the entire Air Canada Centre with Mason Moore's blood. I will send a simple message to every single person watching — a message that could not be more clear. I will not be disrespected. Let this be a cautionary tale for all of you."
"No. I am not so blinded by emotion that I would wish to kill Mason Moore. This is pointless. I do not want to go to jail. Should Mason end up in so much excruciating pain that he ends up needing emergency surgery, however? I would not be so guilt-stricken that I would voluntarily pay for the damages out of the goodness of my heart."
With a sinister smile, Coda jumped. The treadmill was at top speed, and as she gracefully stuck the landing on the carpet floor, she crossed her arms.
"It is a shame Mason and I could not stay acquaintances. It is a shame Mason did not accept the offer I have given him to back out of this match and go back to being a full-time fitness model. He will not leave this match the same way he has entered. Neither of us will. I accept this change. Whatever does not kill me makes me a significantly stronger competitor."
Her twisted view on things and the way she spoke with conviction almost gave you goosebumps.
"Without a doubt, the winner of this match is a foregone conclusion."
With a small smile, she wandered over towards one of the wrestling rings and sat on the apron with one leg crossed over the other.
"When WrestleForce is over, my name will be solidified as the most dangerous person in Redemption Wrestling history!"
The last sentence was said with more passion and more intensity than anything you've ever heard Coda say aloud. Hearing her shout was shocking, in a way. Her voice was still methodic and on the verge of being monotone, but you could tell that just beneath the surface was a woman who wanted her voice to be heard louder than anyone else in the entire company.
As the video came to a conclusion, it faded to black. On the right of the screen, YouTube suggested that you watch the last Mason Moore promo against Coda as well as several other Redemption Wrestling related clips revolving around Redemption Wrestling's WrestleForce. You knew you weren't going to miss this historic PPV now, that's for sure!
