“An Echo. A repeat or reverberation of the original sound after it has stopped. Or an event reminiscent of or have shared characteristics with. WrestleForce is going to be an echo for me. A culmination of many things. It will be a repeat of what I’ve done since Ultimate Resolve. I’ve come out and have looked to make examples of those that have wronged me.
It began with Kenzie Rydell at Ultimate Resolve. The one entity that not only screwed me out of my tag team championships in NGW, but did so while sounds like she did not really care much. After being left to defend them on my own, Kenzie stepped up to fill in and ended up causing me to lose. I lose the tag team championships, but I gained an enemy. That is a loss that I have not let go. She screwed me over, and I was happy to beat her down.
I wanted to get my hands on the man that left me high and dry in the first place, Levi Daughterty. But that coward tucked his tail and took off after than I could get my hands on him. He knew what he had coming to him, and yet no one has heard from him. Even his sister has disappeared as the West Coast Genesis General Manager spot if a rotating roster of guest general managers.”
Sitting on the banks of Lake Ontario, Avery takes a rock and skips it along the water. He sees it skip and bounce along the water until it finally sinks into the water and submerges. In the distance, a large barge carrying coal as it steams along the waterway.
“After Ultimate Resolve, It was then an open challenge in which the little Jew Superhero wanted to have a go at it. And I put him on his back faster than Kaylee Kassie did. He thought he could stand up for what was right and good, but that is a lesson that I learned. People have worked him over, and cheated him out of wins. He will learn in time. We all do.”
A half-smile, Avery shakes his head.
“Devlin Scott decided to toss me into a Triple Threat match hoping that I would lose. The long gone Silas Subhuman and the man challenging Shields for the Heavyweight Championship, Yujiro Fujiwara. And I earned myself yet another win. Yujiro is the man leading the charge to defeat the Heavyweight champion, and I beat him? Perhaps I should be the one fighting for the title. Nevertheless…”
Avery grabs a stick, and whips it back and forth in the air a bit. It was obvious his final Redemption match was weighing on his mind, but he continued.
“...Then Scott wanted to up and ante and team me up with my WrestleForce opponent in hopes that we would fail… nope. Yet another win for me. Granted it was a win for Gavin as well, but it goes to show what sort of force I’ve become in Redemption. That makes three in a row after beating down Kenzie. And did I get offered a contract extension with a nice payday? Signing bonus perhaps?”
He shakes his head no.
“Nope.”
He offers a slight pause.
“And then in Montreal I was put up against Johnny Maverick, and picked up win number four in a row. A former multi-time champion. And yet another win for me. Was I offered something… anything… by this point. Nope.”
He shakes his head in dismay.
“And finally last show I put down the current New Generation Champion, Caroline O’Hara Burchill. Five matches. Five wins. All former or current champions. And Devlin Scott is allowing me to exit the company without much effort. It is too bad, I guess the competition will gladly step up to the plate and sign me to a nice contract.”
He pushes up off of the ground and rises to his feet.
“And it will end with Gavin Grimes. The same guy that is happy to stab people in their backs. I mean, we all saw what he and Ashleigh Grimes had to say about Deadeye and Karin James. We have seen what a real standup guy he can be. And yet he calls me the bully? I find that so funny.”
He crosses his arms.
“I don’t remember physically putting my hands on my significant other. Or calling her some of the things that he has. I’ve had my own personal issues, but I was never the cause of them. And he loves to throw out that I’ve been a bully all along? That is the pot calling the kettle black. I rightly defend myself when people like Julian Savell, Tyson Gregory, and Jessica Sears came at me. They just loved to try and make light at my situation. A situation that I would never wish upon you, Gavin. You know, seeing the woman you love lose a fucking child? Can you imagine the pain, Gavin? Can you? I bet you would breakdown just like I did. Lose it all mentally. And I bet if a couple of trolls on the Internet decide to take shots at you, you would lash out too. Just remember, karma is truly a bitch Gavin.
And don’t get me wrong. I know that you are going to twist my words to fit your agenda. It is exactly what you do. It is what you’ve always done. That narcissist inside of you allows for that sort of skill. You can spin whatever you want onto its head and make yourself seem like the victim. Because Gavin Grimes is the good guy here, right?”
Walking out towards the edge of the water, Avery looks out across the large body of water.
“I don’t expect to win, Gavin. I want to win. I will do all that I can to win. I am not as egotistical and bullheaded as you think I am. But what I will promise to do is to physically beat you down. I will show you what it is like to be a man on an island. A man that has had people turn their backs on him. A man that lives everyday as they come. I’ve done things that have short changed people. Or cut corners. But I own them. When will you start owning your shit, Gav?”
