Martin Karloff- Lights Out

"I know what you are, Coda." Martin says. It's dark. Completely pitch black. We just barely see the outline of the Monster Messiah.

"We wear the faces we were given because that's what they all want but we always recognize our own." Martin says. He snaps and the light turns on. He is well dressed and well-groomed, cutting a handsome figure in a three-piece suit.

"They have a name for people like the two of us." Martin says. He snaps again and the lights go out.

"Monsters." Martin says. He snaps once more and the lights return to reveal Martin once more only this time he is wearing his usual war paint.

"They can't understand the urges. The need to brutalize another human just because you are capable. We are animals after all and every once in a while an Alpha must make an example of one of the wekaer animals. There are nuances to this but the fact remains is the only way the two of us know how to show that we are better than who we are facing is by, as my trainer Johnathan once told me is my forte, 'making utter fuckmuckery of a persons face'. " Martin says. He snaps once more and the lights go out.

"Personally, I can't properly enjoy a match until I know I've become a part of the persons nightmares afterwards." Martin says. He snaps again and the lights come on to reveal he is wearing the spiked leather glove, fedora, and trademark sweater of Freddy Krueger from The Nightmare On Elm Street films.

"That's who I am. While you seem to bring pain because it is all you know how to do. Some would say that means you have a limited mindset but I know different. As I said, we always recognize our own. I can close my eyes and see you in the hockey mask, keeping children away from Camp Crystal Lake." Martin says. He snaps and the lights turn off.

"Of course, history has shown us that two Alpha's of that caliber can't co-exist for very long." Martin says. snapping again. The lights return and Martin is standing in front of the displayed poster for the film 'Freddy Vs. Jason'. He runs his hand across the poster.

"Two Monsters once considered human locked in a battle. Both itching to display their dominance and let me assure you, Coda... that is all this is about. I am aware that you and my wife have been having words recently and that you have shown a surprising amount of irrational disdain towards my Angel. That is not what this is about. I trust Xaria and know she is more than capable of defending herself. I hold the same quarrel with you that a bulldozer has with a barricade. You are in my way." Martin says, miming with his hands an object driving through a barricade.

"Bring me your best or do not bother, Coda... Because once I expose you to The Amityville Horror? It's going to be lights out." Martin says with a snap, causing the lights to go out once more. We hear him chuckle to himself darkly before the promo ends.
